    Notes from the Composer:
    Movement 1: 00:00
Cellos enter two-by-two in this canon for ten cellos. This creates a swirling effect as themes pass down the line of performers. This music material originated as a cello duet written for the annual Cleveland Composers Guild Junior Concert. Two teenaged brothers performed sections of this literature in a piece depicting the medical condition known as Alice In Wonderland Syndrome (AIWS) where adolescents in growth spurts experience limbs larger and longer than their muscle memory can keep up with, creating a bizarre sense that they are out of proportion. The music was arranged many years later for cello dectet in order to exude a madness and frustration felt by the composer.
    Movement 2: 03:07
Stands in stark contrast to the first, with bouncy leitmotifs and an array of playing techniques. An arrangement of an original Christmas carol (with lyrics from the composer as well), this features two sections reminiscent of playing in the winter weather and throwing snowballs.
    Softly falling snow
    Illuminated by
    A brightly burning star.
    Stillness all around
Loved ones travel far to be with you.
    Now the day is through,
    Presents all around.
    Before we bid Adieu
    Gather all around
    Let's enjoy the view
Joining arm in arm, feeling Merry Christmas.
    Loved ones say goodbye,
    Loved ones say goodnight.
    Keep them in your heart
    Those who travel far.
    Remembering their words
    Like softly falling snow.
Merry Christmas to everyone you know.
