- On Sunday we posted a short silent film called "My Distraction"; this is the behind the scenes. We are discussing the three lighting setups we used for the video, why we used an ND filter inside for photography, and what camera gear we used to shoot the film.

Every time I think I need to upgrade to a S1H or Cine camera, I find videos like yours which make me realize that I need to upgrade my lighting and, more importantly, lighting skills.

Becky and Chris you guys are awesome. I tried to do some product photography after I saw your mini film.... and lets just say it looked totally diferent in my head 🤣🤣🤣🤣 loving the videos. Chris keep on rockin I'm not a medical personel but I understand you guys stress. I work for the cable company and I keep the main lines working so internet and TV continue to work and yup random people why doesn't my internet work all the time, so i get the stress. Sync ports, time to upgrade to some Godox flashes. AD200 with a round head and the dome diffuser from the AK-R1 kit works wonders. So does the Godox V1-S with the previous mentioned some. 🤤 Up from there the AD400 Pro is great. The new AD300pro is a nice new in between option from the mentioned flashes. The R2 Pro MKII is great for a trigger as well.

Alien Bees - a real blast from the past! I was saving up for a set of those then they seemingly disappeared over-night. The studio I ended up buying does have a rad Alien Bee ring flash though. Made some cool portraits with it. I dig these videos because I’m a total photography nerd but I’m always trying to learn more about video.

It was good to see some AB's in there. I haven't had mine out for at least a year now. I do use the PCB 47" octabox with a Balcor adaptor on my 120d though.

Keep getting it! I love these BTS videos as much as i like the finalized films. I have two more projects left from before isolation that I am finishing and then I am going to be creating work for myself to do. Not sure what that is going to look like but stuff like this, Film Riots 'stay at home challenge', Pete's photography challenges and others are what I am looking forward to taking inspiration from and maybe even taking part in. Thanks for being so transparent but also thanks for the escape.

Any reason why you don't want to use the Sony a7r4 for video & photo? Or do you just like having a specific purpose for each camera? Because I personally have found the a7r4 for video quite comparable to the lets say the a73 when considering that the a7r4 has better auto focus but the a73 has about a stop or so better light performance. So I've found a pretty nice workflow using memory card Slot A for video and Slot B for photos. What do you think Becki?
BookOfKen I just prefer having it always set up for photo, I bought it to replace my 5D, and use the a6400 for video because it has a flip up screen!

I know that Chris is a doctor so it must be hard not knowing if he will be okay when he gets home. I live in Tasmania in Australia, work at a supermarket, my dad is a plumber that works at the local hospital. My dad has type 2 diabetes and is 65. My Uncle and Aunt aren't in the best of health especially since my Aunt has gone through some treatment for cancer which doesn't help when I haven't gone to see them at their house since they moved in over 2 years. It is also hard thay we can't see my younger brother, my sister-in-law and my nephews either. I live with both parents. Thankfully I am healthy and I still have a job, others are just not as fortunate as my self. Thankful is the word that I will use to describe my particular situation. Whether you believe believe in God or not I will say a prayer for you both.
I forgot to mention that my Dad might not be allowed to go back to work either because if his Diabetes which far ad I know is not hat bad.
