Nvidia not dominating with DLSS is good for everyone. We want FSR and XeSS to pass the quality/performance point needed to impress us. Once it does that, then it’s a new ballgame.
@@telesiak2484 FG has been around since spacewarp eprojection\ASW came to vr. If you knew this you knew FSR FG was gonna be good. They will not improve much beyond 3.1 without hardware for upscaling econstruction. It is impossible.
I'm curious about how many games these new modes will actually be trained for. One of the challenges I'm seeing as an FSR user is that games are stuck on 2.0 or 2.1 or whatever, let alone 3.x. If it's like the frame generation that ships with support in 2 games, it'll be more of a paper launch.

I switched to XeSS from DLSS on a 2080. I achieved higher fps with acceptable trade off in visuals in CP2077 and Outer Worlds SCE. Both with swapped 1.3 dll files. Impressive stuff from Intel IMO.

No, and I don't think they should at this point in time. LS1 upscale method might be slightly better than FSR1 but was released almost two years ago. Impressive stuff nonetheless. Someone posted comparisons on 2.1.9 release notes with a good list of pros and cons what LS1 can do. However, if the game has FSR2 or other baked-in solution implemented, that probably should be used instead.
@@lennieleng9679 That's a more recent feature actually, came out this January on version 2.5.0, and latest improvements in image quality on version 2.7.2 only two weeks ago. I haven't tried it personally yet, but a review from TH-cam channel "Plasma TV for Gaming" feels spot on. There are technical limitations of course, but when it does work, it doesn't shame in competition. Maybe the best way to find a way through different situations is to just read the manual included, and browse on discussion forums how people have solved different problems. Common solutions seem to limit FPS using RivaTuner, disabling conflicting overlays, not using scaling at the same time, or even adding more motion blur.

Or, if you meant frame generation videos in general, there is a dedicated video each on AMD, Intel and NVIDIA and even PS5 separately but no direct comparisons. Put it on search and there's your answer.
Xess 1.3 worked flawless on Spider -Man remastered. Balence mode seemed to be the sweet spot for performance and Visuals. Graphics card and CPU is a 1660ti and Ryzen 7 4800h
Once upon a time you needed a math coprocessor to do math efficiently. AMD better get onboard with a matrix/tensor processor. Linear algebra is here to stay.

@@Zy.Blurish As of FSR 3.1, frame gen will be decoupled from the upscaler. So people will be able simultaneously use XeSS 1.3 and FSR frame gen. It would be sweet if Intel developed their own frame gen tech, but it's not exactly a weakness anymore that XeSS is missing this feature.

switching dlss dlls is not good idea. Some times games will crash and you would not be able to go past some point in game with modified files
Just make sure you keep the OG version to roll back to if needed.
