The basketball court is actually a prison courtyard. And as the prisoners there are wearing stripes, the zebra belongs there too, of course. Miniatur Wunderland is full of such little jokes. And yes, you can actually look into the workshops too. There also behind-the-scenes-tours, which I highly recommend. It is fascinating to watch the technology behind the airport do its magic, or stand behind the volcano when it is erupting.
The latest section is Monaco with formula 1 racing without fixed tracks, surpassing and random winners together with camera shots and winner ceremony. The most sophisticated technology ever developed at wunderland.
First of all: Your reactions are always fun to watch, no matter if you react to Amira Willighagen (my favorite singer) or to Miniatur Wunderland. If you see things or actions there that you can't explain, just think: It's a wonderland where anything is possible. Like, for example, at 5:35, a zebra on the basketball court in the prison yard, which you already wondered about in a previous video. Or E.T. flying through the landscape on a bicycle. Or a flying saucer. Or... whatever a child or young-at-heart adult could imagine. Thanks for all your great reactions! Greetings and love from Germany, yours, Sabine

you better accept one of those invites from your german friends and get your big ass over to germany to lock yourself in the miniatur wunderland for a whole week :P
I read somewhere that the DB is thinking about reactivating some of the old Steam-Locomotives, as a lot of inactive railways are in the process of being reactivated and most of them have no electrification for modern Locomotives. Near Frankfurt there is a section of the railway which is being modernized and the trains are redirected to another railways, problem is, its not electrified, so they had to burrow the Steam-Locomotives from an local Steam-museum. *shakes his head*
this visit was a little bit too early in 2024, because last week a new section was opened: Monaco was opened by prince Albert with his wife and two children - they startet the famous formula 1 race. No race is like the other, every car can figure out by themselves if they want to drive risky or if they want to overtake - depending on the programmed parameters (for example tire pressure). And these camera views are like the ones in real - at the same spots und with the same view. Every car has 64 magnets underneath and they all drive smoothly, no jerking movements. Its brilliant and took 11 years to figure out how everything can work together, to plan, to find the right material for the street...
I was there in 2010. The airport and the new things in the second building didn't exist yet. But it was still great. We had a special tour behind the scenes. You could see the entire system from behind. It was overwhelming. We were in the exhibition for about 8 hours that day. Simply fabulous. Warm greetings from Germany.
The Stadium Konzert of "Helene Fischer" (a famous german singer) was a benefit event. Every guest could buy a figure and paste it in. In the end in needed 3 years to fill the stadium up.
29:35 Jim Knopf (Jim Button) and Lukas der Lokomotivführer (Lukas the train driver), characters of a famous book for children, here in the appearance of the first movie adaption using marionettes from the Augsburger Puppenkiste (Augsburg puppet chest, a puppetry in Augsburg).

The South American Section was acutally made in South America. It is a collaboration between a workshop there and the Miniatur Wunderland. Not just the models but also the mechanism for the Drake Passage. There are actually videos on their channel.
Every day the Brown Brothers were asked to build an other Wonderland for some investors - they always reject any request. Someone hast built Gulliver's Gate in NYC - Freddie was invided and was amazed by their South America section. While he was examening that section, the South American model artist saw him and they started a conversation... everything else is history...
There is a cinema film about the creation of Miniatur Wunderland. Title: Wunderland From childhood dream to global success Hay una película de cine sobre la creación del Miniatur Wunderland. título: Wunderland Del sueño de un niño a un éxito mundial Es gibt einen Kinofilm über das Entstehen des Miniatur Wunderland. Titel: Wunderland Vom Kindertraum zum Welterfolg
The reason for the zebra is that in earlier times the institution was clothing with black and white stripes. And the employees of Wunderland add a little fun from time to time.
At minute 18 something, the big concert is an ongoing charity project. You can donate money for a childrens charity project and if you do so, a figurine will be placed in the concert hall that symbolizes you and your donation. PS: its a concert with a famous german female singer - Helene Fischer. She startet this project by donating money and the video material from a live concert of herself. It was built so big, so that many people can donate and many figurines can be placed. You can see that it is yet not saled out
The stadium fills itself since 3 years! You can buy a minifigure at your visit and place it inside the stadium. Its a carity! They redid the themepark lately!
They renovated the Theme park / Fair just some year ago so you might have seen the old one before. LOTS of more stuff, updated attractions and lots of prettier LED illumination.
I don't know about being in the workshops, but the control center and the main workshop are acutally open on one side, so that visitors can see the people doing their magic craft.
Hey D! The video is really great. Great camera shots. _FYI: When you pause a video, you can use the keys [ . ] and [ , ] on your keyboard to move a video back and forth frame by frame. This way you can capture something precisely if a video is very fast e.g._ Greetings
everybody can walk into a few sections of the working places and many working stations have big windows, so that everyone who walks past can have a look
The concert was a fundraiser, for childcharity. (The some organisacion Angelins sang for in 2014). You could book a seat in this concert for 500 EURO (You as a little figure in the audience). They gathered a lot of money for "Ein Herz für Kinder" (A heart for the children). Be safe D. Elmar from Germany
4:14 there is "Snow white" and her 7 dwarfs walking up the hill. I guess you missed that one. There are so many funny details to discover. 6:13 "The Blue Oyster" is from the movie Police Academy, in the movie it's a gay club.
the horrible wiring is in brazil and before that there is the brazilian carnival. Barzil was a co-working project with a model builder family from Argentina
5:40 Zebra in Jail: In the old days the inmates of jails got clothes with horzontal black and white stripes so they could be identified when they were on the run. Better not wear stripes or they might think you are an inmate, just like that poor innocent? zebra 😂 18:00 the big stadion: It depicts a concert of Helene Fischer. The spectators? buying guests , in a way: Real visitors who spend money for the 'kinderhilfswerk' (a charity organisation to help children) also get an alias seated in that stadium! - ... and it is an ongoing project !!! The stadion is right before to enter the bridge to South-America. 29:40 "Detail, detail" - aaand you found an easteregg: Jim Knopf (the boy) and the wild 13 (the locomotive), the mein characters from a tale from the "Augsburger Puppenkiste" a famous puppet theater whose plays were brodcasted in the German TV. So yes "they don't belong there"😉

I visited MW many years ago. I must go back to see the new stuff! I wish I had several pairs of eyes like spiders, to be able to properly look at every single detail. This is sensory overload! When I saw the ruins of Pompeii right at the bottom of the volcano, my brains went full ctrl-alt-delete!

Unlike real F1 when Verstappen wins everything.

I think they rebuild some parts of the old sections, so even there shoul be new things.
Rammstein haven't played at the Colisee in Rome, but in the Arenas of Nîmes, France, which were also built by the Romans.

The South American parts were made "on location" by a family living there, loaded in containers and shiped to Germany...
The zebra is wearing the same uniform as are the inmates (black and white stripes). It's just for fun.

@@SigridFrings Thanks a lot. It was important for me to show, that the MiWuLa is more than show. Again THANK YOU🙂.
They have hundreds of videos on their channel, with build updates and whatnot, showing what they're doing. I'm slowly going through their backlog.
