AHMAD JAMAL Poznan Jazz Fair, Poznan, Poland May 23, 1998 Ahmad Jamal - Piano James Cammack - Bass Idris Muhammed - Drums Othello Molineaux - Steel Drums
Pure joyce and all jazz musicians playing with grace . An extraordinary version done by Ahmad Jamal . Thank you very much for who posted this video. After this , next step is to Heaven and Jesus ...despite not being Christian. I call it music of angels.
It really adds to the musical experience to see the interplay among the musicians......you should do more where you have the visual + musical displayed. Thanks! It's infectious!
most of the time Ahmad is just watching the other musicians. I see a point where he waits around 3 measures just listening before deciding when to chime in.
Absolutely superb music! Love Mr. Jamal's music. The band is also special. Mr. Cammack on the bass is a favorite of mine. Neat. Thanks so much for the post!
For anyone who loves this and hasn't checked her out yet, I highly recommend Hiromi Uehara. She is a blaze of cool hair and fast fingers and she was personally mentored by Ahmad while she was here in the states studying at Berkelee.
And to think that I thought the version on "Digital Works" was the best ever!! Well it was my introduction to Ahmad Jamal. Who is that amazing steel drum player?
James cammack and idris are a great rhythm team and Ahmad and othello obviously help a bit , best wishes and happy listening !
Love the addition of Othello Molineaux on steel drums.
by far the best version the synergy beetween the musicians especially between ahmad and othello is beautifull... pure hapiness and harmony

...thanks mom...for introducing me to ahmad jamal...this is for you, again, again and again.....
His Poinciana album is the only thing that keeps me sane.
Fantastic! I watched him play at the Village Gate in 1968 and he's still amazing)!
On my fourth version of "Poinciana" tonight.
My fifth this morning...
@@xebio6 Poinciana junkies.

Who is the player?
Othello Molineaux is the fine gentleman on the steel if you hadn't already figured that out.
yep, definitely the favorite. 3 years later i have listened to this countless times and its absolutely perfect.
Me encanta, como me hubiese gustado estar en ese concierto
Increíble ❤❤
Othello really sounds amazing from 4:45 to 6:30 on the steel drum.
This group nailed Poinciana. They really loved doing it, and it showed.
This fills my heart.

Idris's hi-hats are a mile apart... how does he do it?!
You adjust the hi-hat clutch to the desired height of the top cymbal.

othello molineaux
@music1831 Steel Drum -- you know, from the Carribean...
I hear a collage
Great version, but please: Idris Muhammad, not "Muhammed". The tune is called "Poinciana" not "Ponciana"....
Is that Vernel Fournier on drums?
LOL. It's Idris Muhammad. Classy.
Nce
Steel pan bruh, there’s also only one.
idris muhammad on drums ????
