"Stop spreading the misconception that leaving work at 5:00 means working less. People aren't working less; leaving at 5:00 signifies completing a full day’s work within reasonable hours. Everyone is already working harder, but working harder doesn’t mean extending hours to 12, 14, or even working on weekends. If you demand greater productivity, you should also address the need for fair, productive salaries that reflect employees’ hard work. Why not encourage corporate leaders to focus on fair compensation and supporting their workforce and society? Increased productivity requires proper hiring strategies and competitive salary structures-not exploiting employees for the sake of maximizing profits. Let’s not sacrifice people’s lives for corporate greed."

    Problem:
    1) Holidays are not holidays anymore. Most of us are forced to work on holidays.
    2) we are proud of our culture. How do you preserve your culture if your festival turns out to be a working day?
    3) Well if you don’t know people travel 2 to 3 hours daily for work (because usually stay at vicinity of companies are unaffordable).
    4) work hours is 10 currently.
    5) Speak about health is wealth, you need at least 30 minutes of exercise.
    6) you need at least 1 hour time to cook and eat for a whole day. Buying food outside would burn a hole in your pocket.
    7) speaking about good health, you need at least 8 hours of sleep.
so in 24 hours 22.5 hours are gone. If you are a Parent then rest 1.5 hours will be gone in teaching.
Mind that Earth’s rotation a bit less than 24 hours, what is the point.
If you have someone at home taking care of all you chores then extending is possible.
Or if you have enough money to buy the services then extension is possible.
When cost of items grow by 100% my salary grows by 20 to 30%.
How do I match that? I have cut down. That’s why a middle class Person is speaking against it.
All companies and corporates want people to work for 24 hours but none is happy to raise the pay.

We won't be surprised if forced labor of long hours becomes a reality as these hot heads are pushing for more work for less wages. Now nation building, economic growth are hijacked for profiteering. India is a hub for cheap labor. On an average an Indian software engineer not just works more than 50 hours a week, he has no work life balance and available 24/7. Europe is declining not because of less working hours, but because of population decline. Everybody is missing a point - working 100 hours a week for one's dream and working for making someone else's dream are two different things. The first one is fulfillment and the later is slavery. So guys be ready for slavery, soon it becomes mainstream.

If so called top executives and journalists are so concerned about India's growth have the courage to voice against corruption & poor government infrastructure at various levels. Even if we work for 100 hours a week if above factors are not addressed its not going create any notable impact.

Employees are HUMANS and NOT ZOMBIES. For the COMPANY'S PROFITABILITY the workers cannot be sacrificed at the altar. Better give employment to the unemployed a create a robust economy if that's your genuine intentions

Fact is we some days we pass time sitting in office after completing our work because we need to complete our 10 hours in office and on some days we spend more than 14 hours working.
Problem is paying employees according to the time they spend instead of work they do.
Frustration is genuine your negligence is the problem.

A better solution is to make the useless government employees of India work harder so that people in the private sector don’t have to compensate for their idling.

Work Life Balance is a myth. But unfortunately the corporate boast about it as part of their culture and all. You cannot ask your employees to work for 90 hours. The Investors, CEOs and leadership team can work since they take away the larger proportion of company profits. You pay an increment (peanut) which does not even justify 10 to 12 hours of work in a day. Let me tell you, nowadays the employees don't work for 8 hours a day.

Beside working long hours does not promise that the work will be productive.

If you are doing a job for salary then you choose to work less and feel the burden when extra work is added but if you are passionate on what you do then it doesn't feel work just living in the job. Find your true passion.

I presume Mr. Arnab Ji, that you and your team have worked 90h/week for making this video which is based on false assumptions.
Firstly, for your kind information, government employees are entitled to take only 2 restricted holidays out of total 34. So instead of 61, it is only 29. Secondly, many of these gazetted/state holidays fall on saturdays/sundays which further reduces your total.
This is a side effect of working 90h/w. I reckon you hire a good research team which focuses more on quality and facts instead of working longer hours and preparing data based on poor research.
Stop spreading lies and stop calling yourself a journalist. Your kind of opinion based journalism is similar to people debating at a chai or pan ki dukan.

Mr. Goswamy you did not get the meaning of work more or less. Pls note in any organization, as per my opinion none of the employee is not against work less but what employee looks for a optimum work hours. Do you mean work less means 1 hr, 2 hrs, 3hrs or 4hrs a day? No my dear friend. Please understand in most of the organizations employee has to work as per the allotted task and to complete it before done it for the day. Lets take an example of a data entry operator who's job is to enter 500 sales invoice for a day that to depends on the sales cycle, in case for particular day lets assume there is only 100 entry to post then the guy would complete the task within 5 hrs and for remaining 3-4 hrs he will sit idle it does not mean that he is not working at all, because once his job for the day is done he is absolutely free to rom in and around and shut down his system and walk away. Always try to understand its not about how many hours yoy work but what is more important is why diligently you work with zero error. Guys like you sitting in Tv channel and making 4 boxes will debate 24hrs why because you want breaking news right???
