  • Aerial video footage of a depot that is now just a shadow of it's former self, but glad to see that it is still open and running! Just a small collection of class 66's in various liveries along with the 08 shunter here on a November Sunday monrning.
Please note that with all of our drone flyovers, no laws are broken and no animals are harmed! The footage is taken obeying all legal flight restrictions for the area, the category of the drone, and in full compliance of the current CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) regulations for drone usage (Nov-22). The pilot, operator and drone are fully registered with the Civil Aviation Authority.

Brilliant. I see 3 maroon HTA wagons are still stored. I know the wagon repair shed is closed. They making HAA MGR and HTA, some KFA with flat wagons of the British Gypsum logo.

Nice to see the depot from the air. Was last there 7th June 2006. Twenty years earlier to the month it was so much busier.

Those trees at the side of the access road have grown a bit - mind you, it was ‘ahem’ years since I was last there!

Was a long time since I last visited and noticed how overgrown it all was. Thanks for watching!

And I thought Ripple Lane (closed 1993) was a small depot.Although in its heyday more locos would have been stabled there !

Ripple Lane was one of the only depots in the UK that I never got to see in the 80s and 90s. If you think that's a small depot, check out my recent flyover of Stourbridge Junction. 🤣🤣. The depot is at around 1:30

Shame there were no drones about when the depot has lots of class 56s there in the late 1990s.

Great video. Please could you do one of Milford Junction and Gascoigne Wood?

Thanks 👍. I'll add it to the list next time I'm in the Doncaster area.

Is there anything stored at Gascoigne wood do you know? I might be heading that way soon

@@miniature-airlines I'm not sure but would be really interested in seeing the state of the infrastructure now compared to how it used to be. I'm making a model of Milford Junction so would find aerial footage of the signal boxes, sidings, the Maltings building really interesting and useful. Cheers.
