I have a few “Vessel’s” drivers. Love them and using them more then any other brand. I have most of the top shelf drivers. In a few day I’m going to restive a package with about 18 Vessel’s bits and handles, plus some of their accessories. Very exited! Good thing that you popularizing this brand. Extremely good design and very reasonably priced.
I didn’t care for the weight of my first one but this a Tang Thru is nice. I’m glad I bought the ratcheting one and used it long enough to give the ball a chance. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👍

Got a dedicated PH2 Vessel ball grip, one with the longer blade. I wasn’t blown away when I took it out the package and just held it but when I put it on a tight fastener I was super impressed how much torque I was able to apply.
Yeah there is a big difference in the weight of the Tang Thru, the Ratcheting one I have, and the Black One… You would think they weren’t even the same screwdriver company… I like a heavier screwdriver is why I like the Tang Thru. You are right though. You can get a lot of Torque with that ball.
Yeah I bought it to put on my Vest but I decided more people would see it in my bag. I just made me a little plate with an old tape measure clip so I can take it on/off. Most customers that see it laugh.
I asked for the Wera multi bit screw driver for Xmas last year because I wanted to try it but didn’t want to buy it because I wasn’t sure how it would hold up. I absolutely love mine, it’s my daily use screwdriver now, and it became that after only a few days. I’m about 9 months into mine now with daily use and it is still perfect. Absolutely no problems or concerns with it not holding up. Highly recommend it.
I have the Vessel Megadora Impacta in #2 & #3, the ones kind of like an impact driver, but are like a tang thru design, it turns left 12 degrees when you strike it, & the 8 piece Megadora set tang thru with bolsters & striking caps, I LOVE THEM!!! I have a ton of screw drivers, but really only use my Vessels now, great video
I have heard good things from several people on other Vessel Screwdrivers. Appreciate your thoughts on them… I may have to branch out past the ball grips 👍
Casual watcher from New Zealand. I had brought the vessel screwdriver after watching this video 3 months ago. Initally i wasn't sure... but soon found that i was reaching past my ratcheting screwdriver for the vessel instead. Funny enough my 2 sons also liked this screwdriver more than the ratcheting screw drivers. I think its the weight and not having to figure out the ratcheting. A satisfying screwdriver, especially for my "old man" wrists. You cant win em all, but i liked your video.
I appreciate the feedback. I know a lot of people have been picking them up. It’s always great to hear what other peoples opinion on them are. We are all different… I know some people I have handed a WERA too and they were like … nope! But I think their screwdrivers are super nice. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts 👍
I have the same all black Vessel set for 3-4 years now for the same just for the JIS bit also. Recently I found myself using the handle for 1/4 drive nut drivers and kind of prefer the hand over the Klein. I have a similar super screwdriver setup and I've found on larger fasteners the rubber grip on the Klein will slip over the body. Seems to be just the case on the ones with bit storage inside. I'll agree I get better grip on the Vessel hand when I find my self tuning larger screws like 1/4 and 5/16.
Yeah I didn’t give the handle a good chance with the black one because I never had it on me to use frequently. It was in my garage toolbox. I kept the ratcheting one in my pouch for a few weeks to see if I could learn to like a ratcheting screwdriver. I do like the ratcheting one better than others I have used because you can reach the switch with the same hand you are using on the ball…. But I still don’t prefer them. During that though, I did really begin to like the Ball handle mixed with that grip on the shaft.
I have the screwdriver with the bits in the end with the push button, my two son in laws likes it so I got them one and I got a extra one. They are all still working great and they feel great in hand, I also have a bunch of the single purpose ones and they have been holding up great. I also have the vessel screw driver that are manual and ratchet, love them all.
Most of those are not Phillips but JIS Japanese Industrial Standard and they just fit most crossheads better without Caming out n chewing up A few are actually Phillips... Have seen some with red handles. But from what I read.. Phillips were actually designed to Cam out, so the original assembly in aircraft manufacturing weren't over tightened. A kind of primitive torque gauge. That's ok if you're only putting the fastener in once. No good if you want to disassemble n reassemble repeatedly, like servicing a Japanese motorbike or car
I have never owned them but I have ordered them for use in a professional shop: Wiha handles have been my favorite of all the screwdrivers I have ever used.
I just ordered the Vessel ball grip ratcheting. Thanks for the vid. I've been sitting with it in my cart for a minute. I'll be sure to do a vid when I get it!
I like it. Not just the handle but the tip is good too. It’s one of the few ratcheting screwdrivers I actually don’t mind using because you can reach to swap directions with the same hand while using the screwdriver. Hope you like it and look forward to the video 👍
Thanks 👍. I have some more on the way that everyone has been raving about. I go through spells and like to change up tools from time to time just to keep it interesting. Like your name… going to check out your channel!
I've ordered the Vessel 230W-2, I'm going to try it. You mentioned it can drive any hex or impact compatible bit, I think I'm going to like that. Great video!
Got a vessel ball for ratchet and a Malco Connext1 handle for the good ole acetate feel + a quick release collet, and got a makita electric driver for fun
I just got a PB Swiss ratchet that everyone loves so much… but to be honest so far I prefer the Vessel ratchet, especially for the price. I just ordered another one of the Tang Thrus.. I really like them. I like the good ole acetate feel 👍
Been watching every video on the internet to choose a screwdriver. Yours feels like I’m talking to an honest friend - just ordered both the ratchet and tang-thru 🙂
Appreciate that… now that’s some pressure, I hope you like them 😂. I really like the ball grip, and it is the only ratcheting screwdriver I have ever liked using. Thanks again 👍
That Wera 818 with bit holder is nice, the part that holds bits is a little cheap, but a handy small size driver I can carry in a small hip case for everyday task
I’ve had that in my Amazon list for a long time and have yet to pull the trigger because of mixed reviews on durability. It’s on my one day list though.. if I get a deal I can’t pass up. Appreciate the suggestion 👍
Did you know that you can pull the ratchet screwdriver apart and use the ratchet ball with any hex shank bits in the same way you describe doing with the new grey one!! It is quite deep though so won’t work with standard 25mm bits.. I couldn’t believe how good these drivers are and don’t know why more people haven’t discovered them. Thanks for the great videos and I’ve just started watching and have subscribed so looking forward to seeing more. 🍻
Yeah that’s a real nice feature on those. I’m going to buy my a slotted version of the ratcheting one as well. I mostly like the weight of the gray one.. feels a little more substantial, but the other one is great too. Thanks for your feedback and the sub 👍. It will be great getting to know you
I have that wera kompakt. I carry it in my backpack as an EDC. My usecase is mostly disassembly of various devices. So I did not use it in any high torque jobs. For now it works ok but there are many moving parts so I can imagine they can be potential failure points. The handle is a little big for my hands and little less rubberised than regular wera handle. There is a version without bits in the handle and I think this one would be a lot more sturdy. If you are interested in a screwdriver with bits in the handle wiha liftup 26 also looks very interesting.
It’s hard to go back to non-heavy screwdrivers after getting the Wiha Comfort Grip Heavy-Duty (with a striker of course) so I’m going to get this one as my versatility/bit holder screwdriver. Great review!
Thanks. Yeah, typically lighter is always better with tools but with my screwdrivers I like to have a little heft to them. Not super heavy, I just want to know they are there. I never thought about why, but you are probably right. I’ve gotten so used to multi-bit screwdrivers, etc that the weight has become “normal” for me.
I’m a Klein handle guy too even though not an electrician, lol. Have them in other brands as well. Anyway, wanted to note that on the “Dad’s screwdriver” design as you called it, those were designed to be able to put a socket over the handle for more torque, or even a wrench too. I’d have to go check but 3/4 or 13/16 something like that. Craftsman I believe was the one that introduced that. Lastly one my absolute favorites was the orange handle Rigid screwdrivers HD put out several years ago. I discovered them when I was wrenching for a living and they had the absolute best #2 Phillips tip I have found. Still today if I have a “critical” situation for #2P, that’s what I go for. It just bites and in the flutes perfect. The handles on those too were excellent for greasy hands. Of course they were only available for a year or so.
I didn’t know that about the “Dad’s Screwdriver”… very interesting. That is always how it goes with the tools we really like, they quit selling them as soon as we find something we like. I’m guilty of having a drawer of “back-ups” … but sometimes either they quit selling them before I realize how much I like something to buy one, or I buy one and then I find something I like better 😂. I never had any Ridgid Screwdrivers. Thanks for sharing 👍
I have a different Vessel bit holder handle, the 900W, which is the same shape as Vessel's popular Megadora range, a sort of long gourd shape with soft rubberised edges. It feels very natural in the hand, like the Wera handles. BTW, I have that Wera handle with the pop-up bit storage, and I haven't had any problems with it, but I don't know how well it would stand up to all-day heavy professional use, and I'm not sure it's intended for that, it's more like a handy DIY 6-in-1 driver.
Many people have said they like that style Vessel. Appreciate your feedback on the WERA… that’s the feeling I get from reading reviews and why I haven’t bought it yet. I still probably will at some point if I catch it on a deal. Thanks for your thoughts 👍
Great video my man. I’m a creature of habit and tend to gravitate to dedicated screw drivers. While I own, and occasionally use, screw drivers with swappable bits (usually a Klein 11-1), I usually struggled to work them into my daily work flow. The ball type handle seems interesting and worth trying out, maybe I’ll convert 😎
If I’m working out of a pouch I prefer dedicated screwdrivers too. I have always found it faster to swap screwdrivers than bits. I like to keep the “multi type” screwdrivers in my bags to save room. There are certain things that the Ball handle might be too small for, but I have grown to like it for general task stuff. It’s hard to beat a Klein 11-1 though for versatility.
I don’t have any of the Wera screw drivers yet but was thinking about getting some. I really like the round handle on the Vessel. Thanks for the detail of likes and dislikes etc. I will have to try that one as well. Great video as always.
I will always have a few trilobed screwdrivers (Snap on comfort grip, Estwing, or Carlyle)in my bag for when I really need to apply some torque. There is nothing like having an angle to grab onto.
I’m sure I’ve held one but not sure I’ve used one much. I have been using Klein so long I didn’t really start looking elsewhere until I became addicted to tools 😂. May have to get my hands on one to put in the mix and try. Thanks for the suggestions 👍
I’m adaptable. I can adjust my grip to use whatever screwdriver or bit driver is nearby. But I have to confess…I like my PB Swiss Grips. Never used the Vessel deign.
The Grip on the Red PB Swiss I bought and gave away was pretty sweet. The Insider Pro I have is ok, but the grip isn’t anything like the Red one. I’m the same on screwdrivers… I can use them all but the ball handle is something I hadn’t really tried before. I really like it.
I have been wanting to try the vessel ball handle, even thought about getting the rechargeable electric screwdriver by them but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The full tang with striking cap seems like it would be very useful. Not sure I have ever seen a strikeable multi bit screwdriver
I saw that rechargeable one and thought about it too. It’s weird… the black one I got felt like a toy, the ratcheting one felt a little more like a tool, and the Tang Thru has a great weight to me. I didn’t use the black one enough to get use to the handle to know how much I like it. It’s not for everything, but just daily task… it’s real comfortable to me.
I have a vessel megadora that I wanted to try, and honestly, I like it better than my hard handle snap-on screwdrivers (I haven't tried the soft handles). As far as ratcheting screwdrivers, I hear the Linus tech tips one is good. I just have a Klein though.
I haven’t tried the one you have. The Tang Thru Grey one I like the most, the ratcheting one I like, the soft handle black one I bought is too light. It’s not a bad screwdriver, I just like a heavier screwdriver. The only two ratcheting screwdrivers I have now is the Vessel and the Klein. I really like the Vessel cause I can use it and adjust the direction with one hand. Im not a big ratcheting screwdriver fan though. I bought the PB Swiss thinking “maybe I just haven’t had the right one”. It was a good screwdriver but I gave it away on my channel because I knew I just wouldn’t use it much. A lot of people have been talking about the Linus one though. I’d get a Vessel Ball Handle and see what you think.. I really like them. I may need to check out the Megadora… thanks for the suggestion!
I'm probably the only person in the whole world that dislikes the Wera handles. They just don't fit my hand well, at all. Klein all day for me, but that Vessel looks pretty nice.
I could get that on the WERA. They fit my hand really well but I never thought about someone with a different size hand might be different. Kleins are super nice 👍
@@plumbraider2265 I haven’t used a Felo or Gedore yet… I also don’t have any Wiha regular style screwdrivers, only their smaller ones. I’d like to try them out too… a lot of people like those. WERA fits my hand really well, almost like they used my hand to make the mold 😂
@@MORGANSMaintenance The felo’s with the wooden handles are really nice! Obviously not for electrical though. Haven’t tried wiha myself, but do have a set of three slotted screwdrivers drom Wago. They’re right between a stubby and a regular screwdriver, nice and compact!
I got the vessel from Amazon based off of last best tool review. I felt the exact same way about the handle . Feels a bit cheap. But the design is great. I think I'm gonna have to get the one with the strike on it .just used to a little more weight or maybe it's just me not used to that Japanese engineering . Either way they are great screw drivers. And Doc is a great salesman!!!!!
Yeah the gray Tang Thru feels totally different than the rest. I don’t mind the Ratcheting one… I like it too The Black One I have which I mostly bought for a bit… it kinda feels like a Fisher Price toy.
I am trying to get used to these new Vera and Viha drivers, the handles seem off to me, but love the tip toughness. But having a hard time getting used to the grips, been using Klein drivers for 40 years, but I am tryin new stuff. Forgot to add, have you felt any of the PB Swiss drivers? they have a different handle feel as well. I really like the Swiss coin driver PB-8126, very handy when slotted cannot sit flat on some caps...
I have been looking at the PB Swiss that have the bits in the handle. I have been back and forth between trying that and the WERA for my Super Screwdriver to change it up. The PB Swiss are pricey and hard to find though… I am a long time Klein guy too. I love the tips on the WERA the most, but the handles fit my hand really well too.
It’s metal through I suppose (can’t see anything but the cap), with a grippy rubber exterior. The Tang Thru is basically Vessels version of what we are use to calling strike through that you can use with a hammer. It’s much heavier than their other screwdrivers.
I bought the Wera mult bit two weeks ago , kept it in my pocket for three days and the mechanism was getting tight already. Could just be a bad batch , never had any complaint about my other Wera gear.
Yeah I love my dedicated WERA screwdrivers. I haven’t bought any that have bit holders built in. Overall they have good reviews, there are just a few outliers… but you never know if that’s a problem, or if someone tried to take lug nuts off with it 😂
I have that Wera multi-bit driver. I got it to try out Wera’s handle style, the bits, and the rapidaptor all in one shot. Unfortunately the handle is underwhelming for me. It doesn’t hold the shaft tightly enough for me, especially in the extended position there’s a lot of wobble. Also the mechanism for releasing the rapidaptor is really tight, I have to use two hands to push the collar down all the way. I guess that’s so you don’t accidentally shoot the shaft out across the room. But overall it feels very plastic-y to me and kind of the opposite of what you’re saying about the nice weight to the Vessel. That being said, it’s not a terrible purchase because more than half of what you’re paying for is the bits and the rapidaptor. So I’m not saying you shouldn’t try it. Just keep your expectations tempered.
Thanks, that helps a lot. WERA’s regular screwdrivers I like, but I have read everything you just said in some reviews. I have read that the handle doesn’t feel the same as their others for that driver too. I’ll get it at some point I’m sure. Its been in my Amazon list for awhile now, I’ve just been waiting till the day it makes me buy it 😂
5:50 [つぶれたネジ・錆びたネジの緩めに効く] is written [For Damaged recess And Rusty recess screws ] [貫通タイプ] means “tang-thru style “ Therefore, be careful of electric shock when performing electrical work.
Appreciate that 👍👍 I have since also bought some Tang thru with a ceramic ball that are for electrical shock, but the weight of the Tang Thru still makes them my favorite.
I'm Japanese. What is interesting is that many Japanese mechanics use Western manufacturers (PB WERA and Snap-on) for JIS screws. I think this is due to the durability of the tip, and because the tip of the old Japanese-made screwdriver has a different design from the current design, so there is no trust in Japanese-made screwdrivers.
Funny how we are going back to the ball style screw drivers like the really old wooden handle ones..... almost like those old guys knew what they were doing lol
Yeah, I had never used one before that I remember. I think I saw one awhile back maybe on Millis Construction in his bag and decided to get one when I needed that JIS bit just to see how I would like it. I was searching for Ball Screwdrivers though and there are quite a few. I saw a Craftsman one. I want a nice set of wooden handle screwdrivers… just because, not for any real reason.
I’ve been trying to find the Felo Insulated Screwdriver handle that takes bits but I can’t find one yet.. that will be my first Felo tool.. I may have to check out some others. Appreciate the suggestion 👍
@6:45 you put a long bit into the vessel. Is there a company that make great bits you could recommend? I'd like to pair up the vessel with a set of quality bits and have a quality screwdriver for a change.
That bit actually comes with that Vessel Screwdriver when you buy it. It’s a slotted/phillips flip but. So far these Railer bits have been good for me amzn.to/3vxLdSz I bought these just to get the Rail to hold my bit. They also sell individual ones on their website and you can build your own set. I have a couple videos on those bits for more info with links. They are also impact rated so you can use in your drills/impacts. But many people like Makita and Milwaukee. I’ve used Milwaukee and they are good. I have so many Dewalt bits to get the cases that I like, it’s what I mostly use because I have so many… there ok… not my favorite. The Vessel ones that come with it are pretty good too… they even have some bits that length that the entire bit is magnetic.
Reminds me of the black Craftsman Robo Grips with he gold jaw caps. I don't mind paying the higher prices for premium pliers. I refuse to purchase anything made in China. I'll support Taiwan, Vietnam, etc but I can't simply support a country whose government is looking at us, not as an ally, but an adversary. Don't mean to get political, just can't reconcile with China's agenda towards the US. My wife and I pick up every item and look at the country of origen B4 we purchase. Great vids bud, thank you and keep em coming!!
I get what you mean…. I bet it gets hard to find stuff that isn’t made in China when you start really looking around (with everything, not just tools).
The Wera bit holding I have and it’s a nice driver but the reason I stopped using it was the bit storage would just pop open in my pouch and at times I would not know it opened and lose bits as well as using it in a house with some nice hardwood floors and I’ve had it shoot open out of my hands like a dart and hit the wood floor, so I think they can improve that design better, the Vessel one you have up here is nice but with the metal strike on the back as an electrician would be something of concern if that metal fits through the handle like the Klein demo screwdrivers because I have got shocked with those demos because of the striker on the bottom and ground myself out, so I’m wondering if that metal fits through the shaft because then it presents a shock hazard for me once again and getting shocked by those Klein demos doesn’t feel to great😂
Hey it keeps work interesting with the thrill of a shock every now and then 😂 They have some Ceramic Tang Thru Handles that I believe may be shock proof but don’t hold me too it. They have insulated versions, but my guess is the handle will be really light like my black one. The weight of this one is what I like. That has been in a lot of reviews for the WERA, that and the piece that holds the Rapidor in breaking off
@@MORGANSMaintenance yrs that thing is a bit weak so I can see that happening but that wasn’t the issue I had, mine was more cumbersome with it opening all the time. What I did do or have been using is the Klein adjustable switch drive screwdriver and that 3 and 6 inch work in that drive, the thing I like about that handle is that it doesn’t limit you from any length at all and it holds tight and made in the USA, but that driver I had for quite some time now and it’s held up very well, if you have that driver or handle it will work just like you shown with the Vessel. With the combo of that and the 7 in 1 flip socket handle and I can’t remember when I got it but Klein had just sold only the handle for a hex drive insert but not adjustable, I’d have to look at the part number I’d I can still read it in the handle, but the combo of the 3 have became my go to’s for all drivers because of what you can switch out and the length adjustment. They sell those carabiner hex inserts to hold bits and that is how I store the different drives as it clips on anywhere and the tool belt as well, they come with like 6 or 8 different colors but I only grab what I need and leave the rest in the tool bag.
@@Jesus_Strong yeah I probably have some of those handles, I have them scattered all over my garage with different things in them. I am glad companies started making handles like this. I always buy specialty bits to fit drills like tappers, reamers, etc.. and it lets you make a screwdriver out of them and use them in your drill. Nice instead of having both.
@@MORGANSMaintenance yes indeed, so many options we have now with the industry competition, it really comes down to what you like best, I’ve always used Klein tools because my Dad had them and passed them to me so those screwdrivers are excellent and they came along way with the new stuff, perhaps if Klein just took charge of making there multi screwdrivers in the US they would likely be a lot better material but I’m sure more expensive, but I would pay the the extra to have full born US tools, I mean German made are awesome as we can see with there designs and material.
@@Jesus_Strong yeah, there are people who will always pay more for a quality tool (or anything). Unfortunately most things have gone to disposable manufacturing, make it as cheap as possible so they can throw it away and buy another one. I am glad I started watching tool videos on TH-cam to learn what all is out there. The US needs to step up their game on the Made in USA stuff though. A lot of it nowadays isn’t like the old Made in USA… I will give it preference if all things are equal, but I’m buying the better option in the end. Like you said, hopefully that competition changes things.
You got that Hulk Hogan strength 😂 I haven’t had any problems with their 11-1 type or dedicated screwdrivers, but some of their specialty ones haven’t lasted near as long. I’m sure like most things… they don’t make them like they used to.
The Tang Thru doesn’t have the ratcheting end on it… they do have ratcheting screwdrivers, just not ones that will allow you to use your own driver side extensions and the handles are lighter weight.
One thing to avoid when buying Vessel from international sources , Japanese Industrial Phillips is different from everybody else’s ! I want to try Vessel one day , they also have a cute little battery operated iteration ! ATM , my 90% driver Solution is PBSwiss 1/4hex magnetic , with either 1”, or 2” impact bits ( plus I cheat and carry a 4” , and 6” 1/4” hex extension ! That , plus a Stubby handle and I got it beat 98% of the time , that and a pair of terminal drivers , I got it beat . One big advantage , I can trade ammo with my impact !
@@MORGANSMaintenance They are simply the best , their ratcheting drivers are flawless ! Just don’t let the Old Lady see the invoice ! They make Snap On look like ,and feel like a kids toy ! I was showing my belt set up to a dude who owned a company , he allowed I had a more viable tool setup on my belt , than his “ techs” had in their vans !
@@chrisfyfe9212 yeah the price has been the only thing stopping me… that and they are hard to find and typically you are going to have to pay shipping on top of that price.
@@MORGANSMaintenance For Working Live , ( or when I’m in doubt ) , I like the Whia slimline multibit drivers , they have several good handles , including a terminal style, and a Stubby ! I want it for unplanned scenarios !
It was a promotional item one year so you kind find it new I don’t think. I ended up seeing it on Facebook Marketplace place to know it existed, but found on eBay. You can search Klein thermos on eBay and may find one.
anyone with smaller hands find the ball grip very awkward? just got this in the (havent worked with it yet) but so far just testing i think my hands are too small for it to be comfortable
@@dylanorourke735 I had to give it a little bit of time to get used to it, but o also have decent sized hands. It would probably be similar with the WERA. I know some people hate them, but I think it’s a hand size thing for those also.
@@MORGANSMaintenance I also have the green blueish wera non insulated set, and they’re my absolute favorite screwdrivers of all time. We need to petition for wera laser tip impact bits !
Is it possible that you are a fanatical Klein tool fan? Who on the planet has a huge Klein tool handle like that. I laughed so hard seeing that monstrosity. 😁 I see that you have the same tool issues as I do. Looking for the next greatest best tool. I have both of those Vessel Japanese screw drivers.
Yeah it’s a big thermos. I think it was a promotional item one year. I saw one for sale on Facebook Marketplace and was like.. “oh, I have to have it”. I ended up getting one on eBay. Yeah I love tools… I spend the time everyone else spends on Candy Crush, Facebook, and Twitter just looking at tools.
Living and working in north America, like +5 years, i had the UK standard, knippex, wera, weha, etc, i moved over to buying almost all Klein, as the sparkies / Engineers then think he is one of us, no side eye or anything, lol, Like i first said when i saw the Klein tools, that Klein need to up their game, the Germans are coming, Klein shall know whats up, their ego shall pay em a kick, klein has like almost all usa companies, feel their products shall always sell, lets say the American management mantra is short term gain of the upper management to the detriment of the company,
America has unfortunately turned into a disposal society (my opinion)…. That’s with everything from cars, appliances, tools, etc. (especially appliances) Many companies have decided to make everything to just be replaced in “x” amount of years… and that I think is unfortunately rubbing off on companies that weren’t that way. Access to other brands is the way to make all companies have to up their game.. I like it when there is competition 👍
and that Vessel ball ratchet is the GOAT. I use them for electrical finish work, and car interiors. Also: get the ratcheting KIT, it is dirt cheap right now. Each handle in the ratchet kit IS ALSO A STUBBY.
@@wim0104 I’m going to by me a flat head, either blade for mine… or another whole screwdriver. It’s the only ratcheting screwdriver I have liked because I can reach the lever with the same hand I’m using the screwdriver with.
Appreciate you sharing your experience. That’s what has kept me from pulling the trigger are multiple reviews saying the same thing. Some people love it, some people say it doesn’t last long. I’m sure it’s all relative to the jobs you do, how often you open it, etc. I’ve had it in my list to try it if I ever see the price drop. Got a dedicated PH2 Vessel ball grip, one with the longer blade. I wasn’t blown away when I took it out the package and just held it but when I put it on a tight fastener I was super impressed how much torque I was able to apply.
Yeah there is a big difference in the weight of the Tang Thru, the Ratcheting one I have, and the Black One…
You would think they weren’t even the same screwdriver company… I like a heavier screwdriver is why I like the Tang Thru.
You are right though. You can get a lot of Torque with that ball.
Just noticed the " I'm Here Cause You Broke Something" patch! I've got the same one on my bag, plus a shirt that says the same! Lol
Thanks a lot. I appreciate the feedback 😂
Great discussion! Always love the talks on things my wife has no interest in.
@@ryanofalaska mine too. She always says, “who watches this?” … for any tool video, not just mine 😂
The WERA Screwdriver with the button?
I work on Japanese injection molding machines and found a vessel screwdriver in an electrical panel of a new machine and I love it
I really like Ball Handle Screwdrivers now… didn’t know what I’d been missing.
Nice find 👍
Now if milwaukee made a ball handle screwdriver
@@hampsterstew1234321 it would be nice. I really want a set of wood handle ones, but I can only find those on Etsy… no brand makes them.
I just picked up a complete set of the Vessel Megadora and absolutely love them
I don’t have any of that model yet… but mine are the first ones I grab out of my bag over the rest. I like them more every day 👍
Most of those are not Phillips but JIS Japanese Industrial Standard and they just fit most crossheads better without Caming out n chewing up
A few are actually Phillips...
I only have the small Wiha precision screwdrivers. They are my favorite of those… for some reason I’ve never bought any of their other 🤷♂️
I just ordered the Vessel ball grip ratcheting.
Great video! I have started to try different screwdrivers and this is a great roundup of some of the better ones.
Thanks 👍. I have some more on the way that everyone has been raving about.
I go through spells and like to change up tools from time to time just to keep it interesting.

@@MORGANSMaintenance thanks. I look forward to checking out your channel more as well.

@@MORGANSMaintenance just got them, love them. Ratchet is so smooth - thanks again

I only recently discovered vessels screwdriver. Now I am getting the vessel electric screwdriver.
I've been thinking about it... Let me know what you think if you get it.. 👍
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll check that out 👍
Just bought 2200 mbh and its great one tool to replace all screwdrivers
My buddy picked that one up.. I will probably get it one day. 👍👍
Try the PB Swiss screwdrivers. They're the most comfortable that I've used so far. And the quality is off the charts.
I’ve bought a couple of them. That Swiss Grip is nice. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
I don’t have any of the Wera screw drivers yet but was thinking about getting some. I really like the round handle on the Vessel. Thanks for the detail of likes and dislikes etc.
I will have to try that one as well. Great video as always.
Thanks buddy!
Solid man! I had some vessels in my cart ready to buy for a week now.. I'll use your links for sure!
The handle on this Tang Thru seems a lot more substantial. I’d get one of those for sure.
@@MORGANSMaintenance nice! I like the feel of weighted hand tools!
@@slab4x477 me too brother 👍
I have an old W German made short Craftsman Yankee screwdriver with adapter to accept bits. Love it. But I am weird.
You have had me researching yankee screwdrivers for the last 30 minutes 😂😂
I fully agree. I’ve replaced my snap on screw drivers with the megadoras
You can get different blades for ratcheting

I'm probably the only person in the whole world that dislikes the Wera handles. They just don't fit my hand well, at all. Klein all day for me, but that Vessel looks pretty nice.
I could get that on the WERA. They fit my hand really well but I never thought about someone with a different size hand might be different.
Kleins are super nice 👍
Is it the size of your hands? I have large hands but thin fingers. Wera fit’s my hands pretty well, but klein, felo, gedore are all great.

I don’t mind the Ratcheting one… I like it too
The Black One I have which I mostly bought for a bit… it kinda feels like a Fisher Price toy.
The PB Swiss are pricey and hard to find though…
I am a long time Klein guy too. I love the tips on the WERA the most, but the handles fit my hand really well too.
Whats the material of 230w? Metal?
It’s metal through I suppose (can’t see anything but the cap), with a grippy rubber exterior.
The Tang Thru is basically Vessels version of what we are use to calling strike through that you can use with a hammer.
It’s much heavier than their other screwdrivers.
Love my vessel Impacta's 😎🛠️😎🛠️😎
It my favorite at the moment… stays in my Pouch I use the most 👍
I bought the Wera mult bit two weeks ago , kept it in my pocket for three days and the mechanism was getting tight already. Could just be a bad batch , never had any complaint about my other Wera gear.
Yeah I love my dedicated WERA screwdrivers. I haven’t bought any that have bit holders built in. Overall they have good reviews, there are just a few outliers… but you never know if that’s a problem, or if someone tried to take lug nuts off with it 😂
Have you tried PB Swiss screwdrivers
You will see in about 30 minutes 😂😂

Therefore, be careful of electric shock when performing electrical work.
Appreciate that 👍👍
I have since also bought some Tang thru with a ceramic ball that are for electrical shock, but the weight of the Tang Thru still makes them my favorite.
@@topi-880 well I’ve turned into a big time Vessel user. I think the ball handle grip is the way to go.

Felo Ergonic best handle ever!

The Wera bit holding I have and it’s a nice driver but the reason I stopped using it was the bit storage would just pop open in my pouch and at times I would not know it opened and lose bits as well as using it in a house with some nice hardwood floors and I’ve had it shoot open out of my hands like a dart and hit the wood floor, so I think they can improve that design better, the Vessel one you have up here is nice but with the metal strike on the back as an electrician would be something of concern if that metal fits through the handle like the Klein demo screwdrivers because I have got shocked with those demos because of the striker on the bottom and ground myself out, so I’m wondering if that metal fits through the shaft because then it presents a shock hazard for me once again and getting shocked by those Klein demos doesn’t feel to great😂
Hey it keeps work interesting with the thrill of a shock every now and then 😂
They have some Ceramic Tang Thru Handles that I believe may be shock proof but don’t hold me too it.
I must be a one of a kind or just have bad luck with kleins. They break way too quick on me and the grip doesn't hold up more than a few weeks.
You got that Hulk Hogan strength 😂
I haven’t had any problems with their 11-1 type or dedicated screwdrivers, but some of their specialty ones haven’t lasted near as long.
I’m sure like most things… they don’t make them like they used to.
Its missing the ratcheting feature
The Tang Thru doesn’t have the ratcheting end on it… they do have ratcheting screwdrivers, just not ones that will allow you to use your own driver side extensions and the handles are lighter weight.
One thing to avoid when buying Vessel from international sources , Japanese Industrial Phillips is different from everybody else’s ! @@MORGANSMaintenance For Working Live , ( or when I’m in doubt ) , I like the Whia slimline multibit drivers , they have several good handles , including a terminal style, and a Stubby ! I sometimes use the Speed E II , when I have gainormus terminal strips . They have a new little guy , called the “ Pocke Max “ ( just a handle that holds four slimline VDE rated bits ) . I want it for unplanned scenarios !
Do you happen to have the link this big ol Klein
It was a promotional item one year so you kind find it new I don’t think.
I ended up seeing it on Facebook Marketplace place to know it existed, but found on eBay.
You can search Klein thermos on eBay and may find one.
@@MORGANSMaintenance haha awesome I found one!!
@@ffren310 👍
anyone with smaller hands find the ball grip very awkward? just got this in the (havent worked with it yet) but so far just testing i think my hands are too small for it to be comfortable
@@dylanorourke735 the laser tips are super nice 👍
Wera FTW.
They are right there in the mix. They fit my hands well enough I believe I would put them above Klein.
Their tips are 100% the best…
@@MORGANSMaintenance me too. I’m a sucker for great tools.
Living and working in north America, like +5 years, i had the UK standard, knippex, wera, weha, etc, i moved over to buying almost all Klein, as the sparkies / Engineers then think he is one of us, no side eye or anything, lol,
Like i first said when i saw the Klein tools, that Klein need to up their game, the Germans are coming,
Klein shall know whats up, their ego shall pay em a kick, klein has like almost all usa companies, feel their products shall always sell, lets say the American management mantra is short term gain of the upper management to the detriment of the company,
America has unfortunately turned into a disposal society (my opinion)…. That’s with everything from cars, appliances, tools, etc. (especially appliances)
Many companies have decided to make everything to just be replaced in “x” amount of years… and that I think is unfortunately rubbing off on companies that weren’t that way.
Access to other brands is the way to make all companies have to up their game.. I like it when there is competition 👍
It's not just about the ball handle, it's about how you handle the balls
Very true… the handle doesn’t make the screwdriver… but the hand it’s in makes it 👍
somebody really needs to make a giant flat-head screwdriver to fit the Klein screw-thermos... call it the "Finnish".
and that Vessel ball ratchet is the GOAT. I use them for electrical finish work, and car interiors.
Also: get the ratcheting KIT, it is dirt cheap right now. Each handle in the ratchet kit IS ALSO A STUBBY.
I know, they should have made something that screwed on the cap that resembled a screwdriver to at least freak people out 😂
@@wim0104 I’m going to by me a flat head, either blade for mine… or another whole screwdriver. It’s the only ratcheting screwdriver I have liked because I can reach the lever with the same hand I’m using the screwdriver with.
@@MORGANSMaintenance yup, the only truly one-handed ratcheting screwdriver I know of; important for the finish work.
the wera's multibits fall apart overtime.
Right now I’ve kinda just switched to carrying The Vessel Tang Thru with a bit rail from Railer in my pocket.
It says, Drink more Ovaltine. 😂😂
It took me a bit to get what you were saying since it’s an older video. I didn’t remember asking what the package said 😂😂.
So you push the button & watch the bits fall out of em thats wera some of their tools are nice. Prepare to be overcharged & disappointed
👍👍.. I still haven’t bought one yet. The reviews on those screwdrivers are mixed
LMBO that mug looks so dumb
I saw it on Marketplace and have to have it… I guess it was a promotional item back in the day. It was way bigger than I expected.
Wtf klein is not that good
I like Klein… it used to be my favorite screwdriver, but I still like them.
@@MORGANSMaintenance Wera, PB Swiss and Knipex are way better. Even Vessel and Wiha.
