Hi John. Your recipes are to die for. I have always been a mediocre cook but since I discovered your channel my cooking has become next level. I love the way you explain each process. You are easy to understand. My family thank you too. And your smile is so contagious. Thankyou so much John. Much love from Australia 🇦🇺
I made this over the weekend with some nice Margaritas - absolutely fantastic!! We were in heaven! I added a little pineapple and a nice splash of Cointreau to soften up the lime tang. Thanks for the great recipes! 🙂
I have watched over 20 ceviche videos just to figure out whether or not to drain the fish/shrimp...small detail but many missed, and so happy I got the answer...thanks @preppykitchen
Hi John! I have spent the past 2 days making your chocolate and vanilla cupcake recipes, along with chocolate and vanilla buttercream frosting recipes you’ve shared. I think I missed my calling to be a baker! Thank you for your thoughtful and entertaining videos! You are such a pleasure to learn from! 🧁❤️
Sir, this right here, was on the money!!!! Honey I made this and husband and I almost hurt each other to get to the last bite 😂😂😂!!! This is easy and delicious. Thank you again for the many recipes I’ve used on your site.
To get the most juice out of your citrus fruit roll it across the counter top using the palm of your hand, and then put it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds (based on your microwave watt) til it feels slightly lightly warm. Then carefully cut open over your bowl, you will end up w/twice as much juice. Looking forward to making this recipe!
My boyfriend made this last week and it was so amazing I needed to try to make this as well. Made it yesterday and yes this is a great recipe!!!! Thank you for sharing this quick and easy delicious recipe. Kids loved it as well and requested it be a weekly thing!!
Amazing recipe! SO EASY but everyone just gobbled it up! I also added Pomegranate as the creator suggested and it was perfect. A little hint of sweet in all that acidity. Just perfect!
I'm going right out to buy some shrimp! My daughter-in-law is from Peru, so I'll make this for her. I have an electric citrus juicer, it's the best money I've ever spent in the kitchen for when I need lots of juice.
Actually been eating it for most of my life except here we call it Namas. We leave the prawns whole and deveined. It takes around three days to cook the prawns in the chilli and lemon. Delicious and worth the wait.
Omg I love your recipe. Modernized Mexican Ceviche recipes use Clamato. Or other synthetic flavored products like Maggie's Jugó seasoning. I was trying to figure out what to add besides key lines, which are traditionally used in Mexico below green lemons and clam juice pure clam juice without any fillers or synthetic ingredients. The oranges and the yellow lemons are perfect. Thank you for always sharing, pure and healthy delicious ways to cooking and baking.my five year old and I love watching your videos always.
Made this and it was yummy! Shrimp wasn’t overcooked . It was so flavorful! I let it marinade for several hours. I added more than one jalapeño with seeds to make it spicy. I returned to it in the evening to prep it for dinner. Wished I had refrigerated again after adding the onion and everything else but it was so irresistible! I also used yummy multi color grape tomatoes. Next time I’ll make before bed and let everything merry in the fridge longer for extra cold ceviche .
Yummy! In my household we make ceviche as you did with the tiny pink shrimp, clamato tomato juice, ketchup, and cucumber except orange juice! Love how many variations of this dish there can be!
Ceviche is so good. I would also have no problem finishing off that bowl of it by myself lol The version I grew up with is more of a seafood cocktail that sometimes additionally included octopus, scallops, and/or calamari. Also, it would usually be in a tomato-based juice, like V8 or Clamato.
love all your videos! Can you please do a video on a classic summer potato salad. I always over cook or undercook the potatoes. what type of potatoes? Yukon gold? Or Idaho? How long to cook them? Do you dice them before you cook them or keep them whole with the skin on? What do you add to your mayo? What veggies do you use? Vinegar? Sugar? Sweet pickle relish? Mustard?
This looks scrumptious! I'm going to try it with Key West shrimp, which are so small I probably won't have to cut them. Your recipes are the best, John!
Have you tried the “hack” of putting all your cherries tomatoes under a plate and gently pressing down and then run your night parallel through them? It allows to cut all of them in half at once a that they can they lay flat as you chop them further. Game changer for me
In Ecuador there is a recipe similar to this. It has more liquid, fresh tomato pulp, a bit of mustard, and a tsp of peanut cream made from scratch. There are a lot of versions of ceviche in many countries. All of them are delicious.
There’s also an ecuadorian recipe for cebiche made with raw fish cooked with lemon juice. The origins of cebiche are not very well known and there is some Kind of controversy as it is from Ecuador or Peru; anyways both countries have the most amazing variations of this spectacular dish!
The version that my Ecuadorian grandmother makes is orange juice, ketchup, black pepper, sliced onions, and cooked shrimp. It's like this soup version of ceviche and it's absolutely incredible!
Love ceviche my ex best friend mom made this dish and she brought some to work to share and now iam hook i save this video because i wanna make it on my own
I am watching this and thought omg I have cherry tomatoes fresh in my garden that would be so much better and then u brought urs out yayy that's what I'm using 😂
That’s what I made on Tuesday I love ceviche excited to see your recipe! 😂I thought it originally came from Mexico 🇲🇽just finished watching your recipe mmmm so delicious I’ve never had it with orange juice will try it! I add clamato Juice 😮
This was great mine came out really well. I love ❤️ civiche it’s kind of expensive the way they sell it in Vegas is rather make my Owen thanks for the tips 👊🏽
finish with olive oil just before serving (do not refrigerate with olive oil). it is a big upgrade to taste, texture and looks glossy. also some cumin in the blend pre second refrigiration can go along way, it is also a traditional ceviche spice in south america.
In your baked ziti video, you teased about a peach summer dessert with honey ricotta…. Pleeeease! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Can we get a follow through with that teaser?!??! 🫠😋🤤

I'm from Asia and this dish blew my mind. I really want to try it now
I made this over the weekend with some nice Margaritas - absolutely fantastic!! We were in heaven! I added a little pineapple and a nice splash of Cointreau to soften up the lime tang. Thanks for the great recipes! 🙂
Thanks for swapping the tomatoes on camera and demonstrating the flexibility that great flavor can require 😊
Exactly! 😊
Hard pink tomatoes... barf.
Harvey
I've never added orange juice to my ceviche, but I'm dying to try it! Thank you ❤
I have watched over 20 ceviche videos just to figure out whether or not to drain the fish/shrimp...small detail but many missed, and so happy I got the answer...thanks @preppykitchen
I agree with you John, the only way to get ripe flavorful tomatoes, it to grow them yourself, so much better.
I love how you was honest about about the tomatoes! That was dope
I had ceviche, a very long time ago, and never knew the name of the dish. I could not be happier in finding this. I WILL be making this tomorrow. ❤

I like adding fresh diced cucumbers
Diced cucumbers makes it so much better!
I'm so glad I saw this comment. I will definitely be adding cucumber.
Amazing recipe! SO EASY but everyone just gobbled it up! I also added Pomegranate as the creator suggested and it was perfect. A little hint of sweet in all that acidity. Just perfect!
Hi John! I just want to say that I've learned so many things from you and I'm so thankful for that. ❤
You are so welcome, thank you for the kind words!
I had this back when I was in cooking school. I really need to make it again just to see if it tastes like how I remember it.
Great & flavorful recipe . We add minced cucumber , garlic , avocado , jalapenos & lots of cracked pepper. 👌🏼😍
I make mine with already cooked shrimp. I marinate it overnight and it’s AMAZING. I make it for all family gatherings and it’s always a hit.
Try it raw, better
Shukran jazzilan ( I'm watching from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦) I'm really love your all receipe..thanks for sharing..I'm so grateful 🙏. Thank you, chef 👨🍳 ❤️

Thanks for this John! I usually boil the shrimp. I’ve always wanted to try this method. The marinade cook looks awesome! Going to make it tonight!
Made this and it was yummy! Shrimp wasn’t overcooked . It was so flavorful! I let it marinade for several hours. I added more than one jalapeño with seeds to make it spicy. I'm sorry, you BOIL the shrimp?!
I appreciate the explanation for the terminology you use. Great video, as always. Thank you for this.
I love ceviche and adding other ingredients. We add red, green, and yellow bell peppers. We also add mangos.
OMG!!! The flavor of the bell peppers!!
I'm a gringo and I think you can add lots of other things ...I like to add peppers 🫑 as well as garlic 🧄😋
Mango is a great idea yumm
Yummy! In my household we make ceviche as you did with the tiny pink shrimp, clamato tomato juice, ketchup, and cucumber except orange juice! Love how many variations of this dish there can be!
sounds more like a Shrimp Cocktail than Ceviche
Another wonderful recipe and ceviche is one of my favorite foods in the whole world. Thank you!
Ceviche is so good. I would also have no problem finishing off that bowl of it by myself lol

You can also use like white fish just cook it with the shrimp 😋 😱 this tastes amazing 🤩😋

Your kitchen is beautiful
Have you tried the “hack” of putting all your cherries tomatoes under a plate and gently pressing down and then run your night parallel through them? It allows to cut all of them in half at once a that they can they lay flat as you chop them further. Game changer for me
This is exactly how we do it in Belize 🇧🇿 which is right next door to Mexico. Minus the avocado 😋
Fantastic job explaining what ceviche is and also the prep. Great video
great informative and entertaining way to educate us. making my way to the fresh market to try it myself. thanks john
It looks amazing and delicious. Can I add olive oil or it will spoil it. Thank you for all the great recipes
I just made this recipe and it was pretty good. I chopped the shrimp a little too big though, Im going to make the shrimp pieces smaller next time.
This is how I make my ceviche except I add a little bit of mango. I haven’t tried adding orange juice though! I’ll try that next time!
loving these savoury recipes John! this Ceviche is now on my to-cook list 😁

finish with olive oil just before serving (do not refrigerate with olive oil). it is a big upgrade to taste, texture and looks glossy.
also some cumin in the blend pre second refrigiration can go along way, it is also a traditional ceviche spice in south america.
I’m really excited to try it out. Seems delicious.
That looks great and pretty easy - thanks John
This looks amazing!
In your baked ziti video, you teased about a peach summer dessert with honey ricotta….
Pleeeease! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Can we get a follow through with that teaser?!??! 🫠😋🤤
The only item I would add is garlic. Your dish 😊looks delightful!
The best juiced is a fork over a measuring cup with a small strainer. You'll get every drop.
I was wondering if you could make Gorditas de nata they're really good
Amazing healthy recipes
Thanks for the recipe.😍😍
