I was a long time administrator/educator here in northern California. I’m appalled this video! You, ma’am, are there pitta me of what we do not need in the school systems. Yes, you are here to love administrators with all your heart and you’re supposed to love the students as well. If you cannot do that, then, get out! Go work at Taco Bell like you were meant to be.

As a parent, I tried to keep son back in 1st or 2nd grade. They told me I would traumatized him. I tried again in 3rd they told me, No. They are passing these kids without knowing how to read, write or do Math.

  • @TaylorNoelle96

I needed to hear that. You said a mouthful, I’m not signing another contract because this year I want to make myself happy. I don’t want anymore anxiety over test scores, data, grades, lesson plans or anything else. Thank you for ❤️

  • @jerlananoel2641

“Nonstop never ending criticism” it’s that part for me

You are a wise young woman! As a former teacher, I co-sign every word. I had to abruptly quit teaching in the public school system with no notice due to non stop abuse from an administrator. It's true when you say that they run the teachers that actually care and have integrity out the system.

  • @kathleenwilliams1988

I could cry. You stated everything exactly the way it is in public schools. This is my 20th year and my last. By the way, I’m 72 years old, but if I want to continue working, and I do, there are options. I wish you all the best!

I can relate so much. I quit after my first year as a 3rd grade ela teacher. It was so stressful, non stop work. They drain you so much yet expect you to be able to pour into your students. Like how are we suppose to pour from an empty cup. It makes no sense to me. I’m thinking about getting recertified as a high school history teacher. I’m hoping it’s not as bad in the upper levels grades

  • @ReeRee-Da-Lovely

Substitute teachers are treated the same way. No training. High Expectations. Condescending Administration and faculty.

  • @TheMarvelousBeautyChannel1

Glad young people like you have the courage to move on before too much time goes by!! Good job young lady!

“ Girl, the thirty days was a courtesy.” 😂💀 I loved everything about this video!

As a parent of adult children, i am sooo proud of the fact my kids are out of school. I am not a teacher but i can only imagine what yall go through and just being someone who likes to work with youth, i know some of these kids are bad. No other way to yo say it but they are bad. I want to thank all the teachers who take their time to be a counselor, financial advisor, and disciplinarian to other people's children. Yall are the best and i wish you well.

I'm retiring after being in education for 37 years. I was a teacher, a counselor and a principal. I left administration this year to go back to the classroom because I could not stand the bullshit anymore. The bullshit is so deep, and wide it would take a novel to describe.

  • @mzzzzzzday

I'm a classroom teacher. You're right...the people who left the classroom for admin are usually nuts. not all of them, but a lot of them clearly did not want to be around them kids anymore and act like they're the most knowledgeable.

  • @psychedforlife7176

My mom quit after 38 yrs. The new standards and expectations set by admin. stifle creativity and common sense.

  • @sobanoodlegamer

Im right there with you and I have never been more happy and stress-free in my whole life!! I recently got married before I quit teaching and I had to ask myself “is this level of stress and commitment to being abused in the name of serving others something that i want to bring into my marriage?” And the answer was no.

I’ve noticed every job is like a high school when working with other people . Being able to read people can make it really draining . Which is why I work from home now

  • @bonnyp.2814

I love your candid delivery. You speak the truth. I am in a resident teacher program, and this is a second career for me. I was in what most would consider a very high stress and demanding job before getting into teaching. However, I can say without the least bit of hesitation that teaching has been the most soul crushing, peace stealing; emotionally physically and mentally draining job I have ever held in my life. I want my peace back; I want my life back; I want my time back; I want my joy back; and I want to check back into the world, because teaching has robbed me of all those things. Most people might think these words are mere hyperbole, but your words tell me that you understand exactly what I mean. I am a very strong, confident and intelligent person, yet this job has made me want to crawl into a hole and disappear. I had a meeting with the principal today, and he asked if I would be returning next year - what would be my 2nd year - I very plainly and directly told him a resounding NO. At this point, he will be lucky if I even decide to stay through June, because every day - actually, every minute, is like what I imagine it would be like walking on hot coals, glass shards, nails and acid fire. Yeah, it sucks that bad!

Wow! You dropped a whole lot of truth bombs! I commend your honesty, and sadly the field of education does not like honesty. Too many of today's administrators were marginal (at best) teacher's who couldn't hack the classroom, and then decided to be sell-out's for their own ego-enhancement and title entitlement. In many toxic school systems administration is a bureacractic clic that has layers (like an onion) and it's more about protecting the bureaucracy and those in power instead of meaningfully helping kids or supporting teaching staff in doing their jobs. I admire your honesty and strength, and that you can not put a price on.

  • @NoveGamingReacts

I agree.. I think egos and empathy are going to be very huge problems in the future.. just the way people talk and move are extremely selfish.. and "I'm gonna spot you but your gonna tumble" is fire 🔥
