I grew up in the '70s in a provincial English town in a working class street (no-one went to uni) and every parent in that street banned their kids from applying to go on TOTP and Jim Will Fix it. And even us teenage girls knew Savile was a total creep. I guess the BBC management and the then Prince Charles, who by all accounts was Savile's bestie, couldn't see what our working class parents could see. I just wish he had lived long enough to pay for his crimes, like Rolf Harris.

Every big corporation does this, it's poor wording. They'll have lawyers on retainer in the HR or legal departments who conduct investigations for the company, and as they are professionals they are regulated by their professional regulators, so any misconduct or fake investigation would lead to consequences, though in the real world this can be compromised.

I have never really had any time for James Corden, but the information I have heard about him since he moved to the US just reinforces my early suspicions about him.
He is crude, rude and completely without talent or any other redeeming qualities.
Corden actually goes out of his way to make enemies, and has a very underhand attitude about how he conducts himself.
One example I distinctly remember hearing about was that he had called a meeting with TV directors responsible for his talkshow and the channel that it was shown on, and the exact reason why he had called the meeting was so that he could cut back the wages of many of his staff who helped make his TV programme because he said that the people who worked alongside him disliked him and had no real time for him.
Doesn't really assume any kind of responsibility for his actions, and is quite frankly vile and obnoxious.
It doesn't really surprise me that he's had his Saturday night talkshow taken off him.

The reason was schofield's career ended was because there was evidence that he had groomed this person from a younger age. It was said that they met when the person was 15 years old and later they got a job at ITV behind the scenes. So no, it wasn't blown out of proportion.

I don't believe that he's a killer. But I have seen plenty of examples of him with very young children on his show where he's talking to them about very mature subject matter and pressing them for information about their private lives. He's definitely another one that gives off Saville vibes.

While Schofield's relationship certainly was ill advised, particularly if both kept it from ITV bosses, but I wouldn't say I lost respect for him. From his remarks and the young man have said, it all sounds like it was consensual and ultimately, it would be for that individual to make it a criminal matter if he felt he was groomed or for ITV to present the findings of their investigation to police if they believe it was inappropriate. The person I lost any respect for coming out of that debacle was Holly and how she seemingly made it about her and how Phil hadn't told her about it. As the video says, in hindsight, the media circus around that was probably far too excessive

a man born in the same town as me, Stuart Hall, should be there in this Hall of Shame. (I can't even watch the YT footage of the penguins on It's a Knockout any more.) And for lesser but still valid reasons, so too should be one of the interviewers?prosecutors on this vid: Piers Morgan. But he continues despite himself being caught in a web of lies, deceit and a flat-out vendetta whilst in his editorial role. And this man is still likely to have many more charges sent his way for he he oversaw...oversaw without apparently seeing, a la Paula Vennels, Boris Johnson, Rishi Sun(a)k and all those others whose memories were conveniently flaky in all the right places...as were the latter two's mobiles during vital COVID moments.
