  • rottweiler bear test
    we went to bear test just for fun. There is a tiny chance to meet bears for us so this was a great way to see what happends. There was some straws from a bears winter nest on the groung, bear fur and bear shit so scent was as real as it gets for the dog.
    I had some idea how my rott was going to react and it pretty much went how i imagined, first forward and then backs up near me.
    Even if my rott would have left me to get eaten by the fake bear I would still love him :)
    the bear guy said that I dont have to worry about bear attacks when i have my rott with me , the way he acted would scare the bear away :)
    test went pretty well overall
    DOGS REACTION TO BEAR SCENT :strong
    DOGS REACTION WHEN SAW THE BEAST: moves to owners side and is alert
    BARKWORK: starts to bark immediately
    DOGS PERFORMANCE WHEN THE BEAST WAS MOVING:average
    COURAGE:average(occasional eay contact)
    DISTANCE:proper safety distance
    BATTLEWILL:average
    EVADE MANEUVER AND AGILITY:average

    The dog sized up the bear and knew he had no chance in beating it. It did however stay in front of its owner and tried to scare it away. If you ask me the dog was smart and showed loyalty.

  • @Game_Source
    @Game_Source 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This looks clever. It's a nice little set up to test bay dogs I guess. But this is not how you would test a dog that would actually be taking on a bear, and if people want to see a dog take on a bear, it wouldn't be a rott. It would be a Pitbull Terrier, since people use Pitbull Terriers to battle large animals like bulls and bear in combat sports like bear and bull baiting even in this day and age. The Pitbull Terrier was bred as a farm dog that would help farmers and protect them from large livestock animals, especially bulls. If a bull or whatever else tried to attack the farmer, the Pitbull Terrier would take the large animal on and work to get it under control. That led to people using them to actually do battle with large animals like bears, wild boar, and even big cats like lions like certain books about the Pitbull Terrier breed tell us. For more info on the Pitbull Terrier breed - www.dailymotion.com/video/xaf5xb_pit-bull-dog-breed-explained_animals
    If this was a Pitbull Terrier, it would not be backing up and just barking at it. It would run in and take it on, and that's why the Pitbull Terrier is the top dog for combat sports like bear baiting. Here is an example of Pitbulls taking on bears in combat sports - my.mail.ru/mail/mirjanik87/video/_myvideo/80.html
    There is no standing around or circling while barking. The Pitbulls go straight in and do battle. That's just how they've been bred. They are the greatest gladiators, athletes, and competitors that dominate combat sports and strength sports like weight pulling for a reason.

    something many people don't like to think about it that your Rott (or whatever breed you own) is there to die for you. I talking about real dogs man not a little poodle, they're just there to give you that extra time buffer to escape or arm yourself from people or other animals. then it is up to you to save his ass now that it was willing to lay his life for you. standing in one spot and just charging with the robot bear is not the right way to make a dog react the right way. you can really use this as training should the need ever arise.

      +EDWARD GUERRERO Agreed. A person would not let a bear get that close. You should never turn and run but try to strafe away sideways to keep bear in your sights. They are more afraid of us. The dog is just protecting the owner. The owner's gun needs to stop a real bear encounter.

      Fuck off, don't tell me what the fuck I know. He was afraid and displaying defensive behavior. He wasn't quite sure what to make of what he was seeing. I know a lot about dogs (since I've studied them for over 10 years) and I can tell by the body language displayed that there was insecurity and fear more than once. The rottie tried to play it off though.

    dogs are pack animals. To expect a dog to just launch itself at a larger creature that it has not eveer seen before is unrealistic and too demanding. How brave would any human be? Just remember, wolves(which are basically a species of wild dog) live side by side with bears all over the wildest parts of the north and don't fear them excessively. Wild dogs in Africa live amongst every kind of large predator and outsurvive all of them. India also has wild dogs which have been know to drive off and even kill adult tigers.

    • @izftpvp822
      @izftpvp822 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to remember how dogs made today were made to work with humans, natural selection for dogs doesn't really exist / is prevalent anymore. Dogs don't share really any of the same traits as their wolf ancestors. The whole "dominance myth" or "comparing dogs to wolves" makes about as much sense as comparing a human to an ape, it doesn't make really any sense.

    • @Kottickid
      @Kottickid 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Izft PvP No, it does. Traits don't just disappear from the the gene pool the second a new species is 'created.' And the parallel with humans and apes is false, because we didn't evolve from them, we shared a common ancestor with them and they have many traits we do.

      Trust me a rott will get crazy too. Its all in the training for the most part, not many dogs are born a natural aplha badass. They have to be trained to bite. Any dog can be trained to be extremely vicious or violent. Given the time and resources, i could train a yorkie that would make a bear tuck tail and run. This rott is getting the hang of it but better training methods need to be used. Rott is confused because owner is standing still not giving off any sort of energy. The dog is looking for a cue to engage. The bear nor the owner are giving the proper cues. This dog is far from a wuss. Its just clueless in this situation thats all

    This looks clever. It's a nice little set up to test bay dogs I guess. But this is not how you would test a dog that would actually be taking on a bear, and if people want to see a dog take on a bear, it wouldn't be a rott. It would be a American Pitbull, since people use American Pitbulls to battle large animals like bulls and bear in combat sports like bear and bull baiting even in this day and age. The American Pitbull was bred as a farm dog that would help farmers and protect them from large livestock animals, especially bulls. If a bull or whatever else tried to attack the farmer, the American Pitbull would take the large animal on and work to get it under control. That led to people using them to actually do battle with large animals like bears, wild boar, and even big cats like lions like certain books about the American Pitbull breed tell us. For more info and examples, read my comment below this one.

    • @Game_Source
      @Game_Source 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For more info on the American Pitbull breed - www.dailymotion.com/video/xaf5xb_pit-bull-dog-breed-explained_animals
      If this was an American Pitbull, it would not be backing up and just barking at it. It would run in and take it on, and that's why the American Pitbull is the top dog for combat sports like bear baiting.

Maybe, I don't know, What, are you checking them or something? Not that it really matters anyway. Some have no penis (women are known to take part in hunting and combat sports as well. In fact, Queen Elizabeth enjoyed things like bear baiting and helped to set up the matches by giving bear trainers authority to confiscate any bear for matches.)

    Smart dog. He's being defensive and protecting his owner but is also smart enough to instinctively know that he can't win a fight against a bear. A dog with no fear can soon become a dead dog when attacking a powerful wild animal, and that does nobody any good at all.
