you should add a piece of black plastic to seperate left and right sides then in unity use something to create a left and right 3d seperation so you get the true 3d experience like the hololens, i was looking at doing something like this with my 3d printer but wouldn't know where to begin building apps for it
It would be amazing, you would have to put a mirror on the top of the phone to reflect the cameras. I am not sure if it would interfere with the depth senscors but i would love to try
Hi there.. i have made something like this with the same name, by designing a comfortable headset and develop an android app to display maps and traffic in AR. Maybe I'm late, have you seen anyone else make it before?
Support for kinect or a leap motion device would be amazing. That way you could actually manage the environment, but tracking that much pointcloud data may be difficult.
Hey +Plazmaz I have been looking into leap motion and Kinect but don't think its suitable if i want to keep this accessible to a wider audience. I have managed to successfully integrate market tracking with vuforia and now looking into environment tracking. Check out my new video th-cam.com/video/WQ978wJUtU0/w-d-xo.html
that's very cool, hmmm might make my own now edit : some hours have passed and i got my first sh*tty prototype working edit again : a day or two have passed and i've ended up with a pretty good version, i make it display bearing like in an airplane, very cool i'm happy i made one
Nice video!! Just a quick question, if you wanted to picture a 3d model to simulate virtual stuff in reality, how would you make it for the eye to be able to focus on the 3d object and the background at the same time? I mean, with the screen being that close to the eyes, if you look to the projected object the background looks blurred, and if you look at the background the object looks blurred. I know that in order to picture that object as I want to I would need one screen in front of each eye with different view angles, I just dont know how to make my eyes focus on the 3d object and the background at the same time. There is no need for you to respond, the video was already helpful, thank you!
Tristan Bihler I dug into the unity SDK and swapped the head tracking parameters. You could also write a script out of the SDK that controls a separate scene
Did you use somekind of an app that reverses the y-axis of the screen because when you display an image on a mirror then the sides get reversed and you wouldn't read out anything
I used the Google cardboard SDK and changed the way the head tracking would respond on a code level. Do check out the most recent design th-cam.com/video/CM3X4b4NBnQ/w-d-xo.html
@@chad2293 Take your phone, display some text, go to a mirror, and look at the screen from the mirror, you probably won't read out anything as the text is mirrored. That is what I meant, not rotation, but y-axis reverse
+joridrilboor I am still developing the designs and code, It has come a long way since I originally posted the video. Hopefull early next week I will be able to publish everything. I drop you a message when its up. Thanks Sabba
Lots of messing around with the SDK. Effectively you are swapping the compass data around. Since the project the google cardboard SDK has changed a lot, but i cant see why this will not still be possible.
Is there something like this on ebay? This has a display and a camera? I want to use edge detection + edge detection on by fingers + "google image search" so I can put notes on objects, help me learn Chinese(by placing the chinese name over say a pot), also would be cool if could help count calories mwahahah.
Whoaaa I know I'm 3 months late but that chinese word written overlay is an AWESOME idea! Did you pursue that idea any more? Is it okay if I steal it LOL
I think its not perfect image. Because this image result it ghost image. Or make double image. Why ?. Its because outer and inner reflection it will make double images
I liked your transitions with the wording, very inventive and creative; nice touch 😃!
Thank you! Im pleased you like it
i like the way you turn a tutorial into a shortfilm like this, it's educating and intertaining at the same time, you inspire me
make an app that temporarily switches your phones x axis with the y axis. that way you can run any vr app in ar.😁
Good idea 😀
how i can get hololens please tell
@@neman_357 Well if you've got a spare $3,500 you can go to micrsoft.com
There is no such app, because require root. Android Stock market is sad.
How did you get text to look correct

Hi Great Job !
Please let me know when it is ready !
Thanks for your effort and share it with us !
This are WAY better than the arduino smartglasses
THE DOPEST THING EVER!!
how i can get hololens please tell
What amazes me is that you have a laser cutting shop in your neighborhood.
Amazing right, but that's the perks of living in London. Sadly it is now closed.
It will be cool to use this with Lenovo Phab 2 Project Tango to make AR with full environment tracking.
It would be amazing, you would have to put a mirror on the top of the phone to reflect the cameras. I am not sure if it would interfere with the depth senscors but i would love to try
what chemical did you use to connect the pieces?
you didnt use any mirrors, will it work really?
The acrylic at 45 degress act like a prism, or mirror, if you will
I think a better implementation would be to build a windshield HUD and display traffic directions, AR HUD is the industry name.
Hi there.. i have made something like this with the same name, by designing a comfortable headset and develop an android app to display maps and traffic in AR.
Maybe I'm late, have you seen anyone else make it before?
can u please list the items needed?
That is awesome i very inspired may i know what the apps for created object you use
Awesome stuff! Any improvements since?
How to solve the Focus problem ? Any help on that ?
DAYUM! I think changing the distance between the screen and mirror should give the right focal length I.e. Focus
Hi DAYUM! see the newest video i made for this project. I use a different approach using optics.
maybe you could take the lenses from vr cardboardboxes
why donot try this one?
www.oande.cn/4809/5243/productDetail_37.html
now you just need 400 dollars for a phone
Some phones are $50 (but not the best)
Mine is 150 $ and je is predy good (umidigi a5 pro)
Mine is 700
I believe that these days everyon3 has mobiles. So it's gonna work like a charm

Cool ⭐️
Is it possible to build this without phone?
that's very cool, hmmm might make my own now
edit : some hours have passed and i got my first sh*tty prototype working
edit again : a day or two have passed and i've ended up with a pretty good version, i make it display bearing like in an airplane, very cool i'm happy i made one
Gonna try doing this sometime :D
Bro what kind of lenses we need to use augmented reality headset? Same lenses that are used in virtual reality headset?
You can use them yea.
how can i get this .by using this lens we can use apps

DUDE UR A GENIUS
What app u use.
Same! And I made a professional optics thanks for your inspiration!
Thanks for dropping a comment. Pleased you enjoyed the video.
yeah i wanted a hololens too! But thats just ttoo expensive.
Are you continuing the project?
No, I am not developing it anymore. But still experimenting with Augmented reality and tech
Oh ok
how did you manage to switch left and right or bothen and top
Tristan Bihler I dug into the unity SDK and swapped the head tracking parameters. You could also write a script out of the SDK that controls a separate scene
Hey can u share its dimensions?? And what type of glue did u use??
I guess he used this glue: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dichloromethane#Toxicity
There are less toxic alternatives, though.
The projection is essentially operating in a similar manner to a mirrored glass based TelePrompTer
THIS IS DOPE Sabba!
Thanks Dude
I did this with a CD case
epicface 169 same
HOW??
CaptMinecraft search how to make a projector out of cd case I’ve seen it
Can you give me a link to the app you made
Where do I get the app?
Did you use somekind of an app that reverses the y-axis of the screen because when you display an image on a mirror then the sides get reversed and you wouldn't read out anything

Use lock rotation

why isn't everything mirrored
what is your application
I can't seem to find the design files anywhere on your website, would you maybe have a direct link? Thanks!

+Sabba Keynejad Cool thanks for the headsup!
+Sabba Keynejad Fantastic design! Would love to know when you publish it as well!
Awesome!!! I just want to mention how aesthetically pleasing your video was as well, especially with the way how you showed the instructions ^^
Awesome!
I've made one too, but i want that 360 degrees effect.
Do you may have a download link from dropbox for that Unity?
Check this video out -> Full 360 th-cam.com/video/CM3X4b4NBnQ/w-d-xo.html
How did you reversed it sideways
Lots of messing around with the SDK. Effectively you are swapping the compass data around. Since the project the google cardboard SDK has changed a lot, but i cant see why this will not still be possible.
You can use a HoloLens emulator to make it more like HoloLens
i think a pair of lenes are missing.
南道爾 check the follow up video I made
Which software you used to make projects
Unity, built on top of cardboard SDK
Do you have an apk or ipa for the app you made? the old version because i dont have lenses
hologram software how to download for phone
Its make from a google cardboard app
can i develop games for it?
Ohhhhohohohi this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a mirror, microsoft hololens are glacess that can give you the 3D augmented reality
It was just a bit of fun, more of an experiment with a clickbait title ;)
Awesome! How could I purchase one from you?
Incredible!
where you get apps for this?
Gtagamingcz you have to make them.
Oh no but i can't
But i find some
Awesome buddy
Template pls ?
incredible fantasic!
I just came up with this today on accident
Is there something like this on ebay? This has a display and a camera? Make it work with google live map.
I use nintendo switch cases to make mine
not bad
You crazy son of a bitch! You're a genius
thats cool, but i use a holographic device called my eyes and the cool part is i can interact with all the objects
Our eyes are extremely useful! This is the video of updated design, Check it out th-cam.com/video/CM3X4b4NBnQ/w-d-xo.html
So much ghosting tho..
B-Stylez thanks for the comment. I solved this problem, check out the follow up video
If you make a slow version of this video it will be more useful
This video looks similar to Casey Neistat video.....
I was watching a lot of Casey's videos at around the time of making this video, must have rubbed off on me.
