Love the short stride vs keeping stride length the same on the slow.
    Very helpful!

You are an excellent teacher and I really enjoy watching your videos. They provide a great deal of clarity for me. You explanation of maintaining the beat and shortening the stride as a means to maintaining the connection to the dog was simply superb. Explaining how the other competitors lost their connection to their dogs was brilliant. Keep up the good work.

Ok. Great advice. I've been told to get Valen's CD in UKC and ASCA. . .

Personally, I stick with 1 registry and go as high as I can. Switching registries is like having your kid complete 1st grade, you move and put your kid in 1st grade in the new school, after completing that you move again and put your kid in the 1st grade in the new school again.

That was so good ! Thank you! I’m just a green beginner I’ve gotten my Decker Rat Terrier through BN , N, GN, working on preferred open now. We have our RN so this next trial we are doing PO and RI. I did not know how to train the side steps. The lady I train with is KMODT. So some things are hard to train her way.

As Beau and I prep for CDX, this is perfectly timed. I do #1 and say “ready” which cues Beau. I also do #2 but LOVE the nuances you provided about subtle shoulder movements - those were helpful. For #3, my instructor told us to sing “Oh Mickey” to keep the right rapid cadence. I use that and for my younger students I have them sing (in their heads of course) Low (apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur). Another great video, thank you!

This is amazing, thank you! Something I struggle with my dog is a close heel. Her heel is amazing! But she doesn't stand close to me like Dash does in the video. I've never had a dog that does this. Any tips?😁

Watch my foundation heeling video which I put in the end card at the end of this video. The instant she accidentally gets into position, mark it and release her from heel by tossing the treat and letting her chase it. Tossing the treat is prey drive. She’ll soon be getting into the correct position so she can play the chase game.
