This video has been absolutely mindblowing! I'm flabbergasted, every single tip you showed was new to me but of all of them, that multicam hack is so simple, yet so effective. This will save me tons of time in the future, thank you!!
It is always so wonderful to hear your mellifluous and sonically pleasing voice floating across the North Atlantic towards the tartan embellished folks over here in snowy windswept Scotland. Your tips, especially the audio tips, will be most useful to us as we 'hack' our way through the Scottish country dance and haggis bashing videos we churn out over here. We are all very grateful for all your hard work. You are an inspiration to us all. Scotland LOVES you!
Jenn, multicam from the same angle? What?! Mind completely blown. Definitely using it in this week’s video. Thank you yet again for sharing your knowledge!
Jenn, Thanks for another awesome video! I found the faking the multicam tip is a great hack...just wish I had found this about a year ago when I was editing some videos for a client and needed to add zoom in jump cuts. This tip would have saved me so much time during editing.
This video is AMAZING! The hacks are great, but so are some of the things they're based on that I didn't even know about! (All this time, I never knew what kerning was! Nor multicam!) You're awesome. Thank you for this!
Dear Jenn, simply outstanding! Really excellent! This set of hacks is long overdue! You nailed it! Or... as my 13-year old daughter would say... "You slayed it!" Thanks! They are ALL very useful. All the best, and a happy, harmonious & productive 2024!
Excellent as always Jenn, thank you. I'm wondering if the sock over the phone mic would help with wind noise. 💡Just had a ping moment maybe a fluffy sock 🤔
Great Upload. Please make a topic about creating "Shake Transition" in apple motion. Unfortunately, there is neither this transition in FCP, nor in apple motion effects. Thanks Reply
Excellent tips. Thank you! For the midrange adjustments to the audio, is there a way to fade the equalizer adjustment in an out for when the speaker section is small, like in an intro of a video?
Hi Jen...how do I customize the (quick change?) icons ( Library , Inspector...etc) that I see you have at the top of your FCP window. Thanks, You ROCK!
This earned a sub (even though I thought I already had -- ha!). Really dig the multicam and marker/jump cut bits. What FCP really needs is optical kerning like Adobe has had for years (at least in InDesign -- never bothered with Premiere, so I don't know about that).
There are a lot of ways to accomplish the same tasks between FCP and motion. With all those options, I still have trouble doing things without video assistance. Thanks for the help
Thanks , That turning logos to white or Black was amazing, always had to go make it in photoshop by inverting it and bring it back. I always wondered if there was an Invert option in FCPX but your tip works great...
That is a very very very useful video! Thank you a million times for your tips! Just a quick advice in case you aren't aware, be careful with the Chanel logo. They are very particular about it and they might give you trouble for using it even though it's not for commercial purposes :)
Thanks for some useful tipe. As a graphic designer first (since 1986'ish) , your tip on letter kerning is really useful. Interesting, I have been using video capture for some time: usually as a teacher to capture clips for Media Studies (a perfectly legal use, of course), and also to 'recover' clips for clients! I too won't mention the software I use, but it works brilliantly.
Another great video 🎉 I would love to see a video talking about export/share And what each option gives you and how to use them in different scenarios … for example, whenever I share my videos and then upload them to Instagram they always look really bad. I think it’s because I’m exporting in the wrong setting.
I have a video that I need to include photographs. I have my photos inserted, but the video 'behind' is still showing around the edges of the photo. How can I fix this problem?
Love your vids.......make all the difference....question...your Title/Action Safe grid color is green........mine is yellow and hard to see.....how can yu change it....haven't found a solution but you obviously have?
In Motion? Just go to the top Motion menu/Settings, then in the pop up, go to Canvas, then switch the view from Alignment to Zones, and change the Safe Zones color.
Simulated typing effect…awesome and will use for sure. Question: Is there a way to screen record scrolling, say on a client website for a clip in their video, so that it’s smooth? I edit on a MacBook and find it hard to scroll smoothly.
That’s a tough one. What I usually do is zoom WAY out of the browser window so you see more of the length of the website, take a screenshot and bring the image into FCP or Motion and keyframe on the Y value. You need to have a high res screen to get a decent image.
something I don't understand, the jump cut to marker cuts the film short and the music is still in original length, that doesn't seem the cut point is going to match the original music you intended to make.
I can not believe I completely forgot about using blend modes to remove black and white backgrounds. I use a keyer and color pick the background. Thanks for the tip!
The typing backwards hack is genius - so obvious in hindsight!
I've never considered using a multicam clip as a shortcut to crop-ins. Very insightful!
That was actually a tip I picked up from a viewer ages ago.
I feel the same way!! That blew my mind!

Love the jump to Markers tip. ☺👍🏼
You are literally the best FCPX TH-camr. You've helped hone my editing skills so much! Thank YOU!
Every time I watch your videos I learn so much! Thank you for sharing your talents! Bev

You're a saint, Richard. Just what a girl needed to hear!

OMG That multicam trick is fantastic! I have been cutting and zooming in for years to get that 2 camera effect! Thank you so much and love your work!

Jen: Your tips are always great and these are no exception. In addition, it is such a please to watch and listen to you. Good job.

Nice Tutorial , Thanks Jenn
GREAT video and helpful tips! Thank you!
Most are useful but overall THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING !😘
well done - great work. Really very good.
That typing ! I needed today will be redoing it tomorrow
Excellent as always Jenn, thank you. I'm wondering if the sock over the phone mic would help with wind noise.
💡Just had a ping moment maybe a fluffy sock 🤔
Great hacks Jenn! Thank you for sharing these. The multicam one, I never would have even thought of myself.
All tips were great, but my fave was the color vibrance on text; I hae laways wondered why my text looked "dull" to me! Now I know why; thanks!!!!
Does kerning also work in FCPX? Great videos! Thank you!!
sempre aprendo algo em todos seus videos! obrigado por isso!!!!
Great tips! Thanks Jenn!
Dear Jenn, it is amazing how much I learn from you. Big big thank you!
Jump cut to markers, never heard of it until now, and this one is huge for social media editing! High five to ya! ✋💥

Thank you so much!!!Multicam tip is SUPER
Loved them all and you gave me a great idea on how to make a wind screen (that doesn't block the button) for my iPhone.

The sock thing is brilliant. lol.
I like the image over 3D text 🙏
So good! Thank you so much for sharing these tips with us! :)

Wow ❤❤❤
Bro reverse backspace clip had me literally laugh out loud at how simple of a hack
Really good thank you, just subscribed keep up the good work.

You could also use the luma keyer for this too theoretically, but blend modes is def the way to go!
Thanks Jenn! Great and useful video!
