And so I did follow exactly as instructed, and…..
I’m blown away! It was. Superb! Number #1! I never folded the sifted flour to make a “batter”. What a difference. And I’d prepared them yesterday, froze them..and took out enough for breakfast today. 5 minutes on each side… perfect!
    Thank you!😀

And now… I see your genius is everywhere! I’m watching you now and learning how to make the perfect burger! And weighing out the portions! To get them all to cook evenly! And “chuck” is the PREFERED cut! Thank you again! I’m a very happy man now! Finally a great counselor, that transfers wisdom and knowledge perfectly!
You are a living blessing! A Very compassionate teacher!

I am from the UK and tried this today. I used the cheaper white fish called ''Pollack'' around 60% cheaper than Cod. I did not try making the home made chips. The bread crumb fish tasted delicious and no different really to the far more expensive Cod. IMO, the genius of this fried fish recipe is the freezing after the coating has taken place. I previously tried another TH-cam recipe e.g Beer Battered air fried fish, bit of a disaster !! At soon as I saw this lady demonstrating her way, it clicked as that she knew what she was doing and I was RIGHT ! I did not have any sugar, so just added salt and black pepper to the flower and breadcrumbs and it turned out fine. We are very much against using sugar in the UK, due to the health risks it brings but may buy a small packet for use only in this recipe ? I also used fizzy carbonated water rather than beer, worked fine. I shall try variations on this recipe to see what gives me personally the best taste and results but for me the secret is the freezing of the prepared fish. I shall be looking at the other recipes of this lady, well done to ''Louise''

You are amazing , and PERFECT, in your kitchen!
I’m blown away by your precision! … I came online to cook fish in my own air fryer, and I clicked in you!
Here is where your expertise made a massive difference!
Adding sugar and spices in your flour and breadcrumbs! Great ideas!
And folding in the flour!! The patience factor! Then always reenforcing that our cooking times should be monitored by looks and touch!.. exactly!! Again, you are a MASTER and an EXCELLENT COUNSELOR!
I enjoyed your SPIRITED , LIVE, life immensely!

Highly recommend Panko bread crumbs that have been milled in a food processor into a super fine crumb, it's almost like a Tempura crumb in the end. I do lovely prawn and Salmon fish cakes with Panko and it rocks.

I toss my drained soaked fries into the basket while it preheats for 5 minutes. Then I toss them into a bowl with some peanut oil. salt and turmeric. Then back into the air fryer. They taste just like 5 guys to me and my husband. I love the tip about freezing the fish. I can't wait to try it.

Really well done.. As a British, fish & chips are very close to my heart.
I couldn*t see how they could be cooked successfully in an air fryer... Pure genius using a wet batter and then a crispy crumb on the top. Also, you know how to try chips the British way, with colour for taste ! I really enjoyed watching this video, you have a lovely way about you ... (Btit saying) Thank you

I made your fish and chips for dinner today and it was really good. I will add a little more seasoning next time (personal preference), but the consistency of the fish was excellent. The batter didn't stick and the fish was perfectly cooked. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I will definitely be making it again in the future.

Just made the fish in the air fryer. Just one we got at Walmart. Swai fish works great. Less time. First 2 got a little dark. No oil. I just sprayed some spray butter on both sides. Parkay no fat. Also no beer. We don’t drink and plus hate beer. I used half water half lemon juice. Wheat flour and used panko. Yummy. Mother is fighting the big C and has high cholesterol. Next going to try salmon. Thanks!

Wow im impressed. I just got the Ninja Foodie Grill XL so i will have plenty of room for this. I made salmon tonight with a glaze and my seafood loving husband thought them perfect. Ive never cared for any seafood except fish and chips but the Ninja Foodie Has made me a believer. Found your videos and love your recipes. We seem to think along the same line. Bought a small air fryer a few years ago just to try it out, small and cheap. Well now I’ve moved on to this Ninja beauty. Lovely design and loads of room. You can believe im betting i try all your recipes. Ive had a huge hit with J. Kenji Lopez Alt recipes. His wings coated with baking soda and corn starch are to die for. Ill do them in the Ninja Foodie now rather than the oven.

This is a really helpful video and looking into the comments has helped as well. I tried making more traditional beer batter and it was a liqudy mess. I really appreciate the helpful tips here. I want to try to make this but if I can do with less calories and more anabolic that would be awesome. I would hopefully be able to get the flour down to 1/4 of a cup in the batter mix and keep the amount low with the first drege. It definitely would be some trial and error but definitely this inspires me to try and make my own take on this.
Also I think you have a really entertaining and soothing personality, there's a homely vibe to this and it feels like a relative trying to teach a family member how to make a recipe.

I came across a tip on making fish and chips somewhere several years ago. When making the wet batter, just add a few teaspoons of either fish sauce or oyster sauce. I prefer the oyster sauce myself. It gives the fish a whole new depth of flavor that is worth trying.
This works well for breaded mushrooms too.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Good idea! I think I would prefer the oyster sauce over the fish sauce although I do use fish sauce in Thai food all the time and it really does bring a depth of flavor that is missing without it.

@15:00 With my air frier i have found that arranging the fries in 90 degree layers works really well.

Ok, that made me hungry. Need to pick some fresh fish. My fave is Pickerel, would the time to cook the fish be the same fir the cod? Thanks love the channel as I'm a newbie to a Ninja Foodie Deluxe 2 weeks ago.

I'm not familiar with pickerel, but I noticed that no matter if my cod was more steak like or thin filet like in shape, it all cooked in the same time. I'm so glad you are enjoying the channel and recipes!

Hello. Your video and presenting is excellent and informative. One thing I'm wondering about is, is the fish frozen when you buy it? (mine will be) If so, is it safe to freeze it again straight after battering it? I'm having my first ever air fryer delivered next week and am eager to try your way.

Yes, it's perfectly safe as long as you thaw it correctly. The best way to ensure thawing at the correct temperature is to thaw it in the refrigerator.
