My mom's house has lower cabinet drawers that are huge that she puts her pots and pans in. It might be a good idea for the ones you have in the corner! I am not sure what you said the measurements were, but it would be nice to fit larger pots and pans in there. She has one big cabinet with two big drawers for them. I love the color you picked for the cabinets too. Thank you for being so detailed in what you are sharing with us!
I totally agree, if I were getting a new kitchen I would definitely be putting a lot of drawers!! So much more practical ! McKenna you are super woman !!

The BIG Drawers - use a single pull in the middle! Having two makes them roll off center and wears down the sleeve hardware and creates gaps - try not to over load them... * Great Cabinetry work! *
If you take a large flat head screw driver, and hammer a about 4 to 6 holes into the inside rim of the paint can, the paint will drain back into the can, and will keep the excess from filling up the rim where the lid is replaced. This will save paint, and also make opening yout cans up easier. Just an FYI I learned as a painter. Love your videos! God bless!

McKenna! I am loving it. My husband and I just renovated our 90 yr old home and it is a process! There were days of pure breakdown and then pure elation. Cabinet painting being one of the lows. It took forever, but we used the existing cabinets. I am drooling over the fact that you had fresh wood to start with. All in all, We LOVE our home and it’s such a reflection of us. Kudos to you and Romeo, because this is no small feat and you all make it look easy. Loving everything!

Hi MaCenna. Looks great. I suggest you paint the ends of the kitchen cabinets even though you won’t see them. Just to protect the wood from moisture & spills. Can’t tell you what wacky things happen in the kitchen through the years…floods from dishwasher, exploding blenders that run down the fridge side, dropped gallon milk jugs… And, you’ll want more than one light in the coffee pantry- one above glass shelves and one above the countertop. Once you store stuff on the glass shelves you’ll be blocking light to the work surface.
McCenna, everything that you've done has been so impressive throughout your remodel journey. There was something about you making your own cabinets that was absolutely AMAZING to me! It was so inspiring. Well done to you and Romeo!

I look forward to your reno of your 110 year home. You have done an awesome job, I live in San Antonio and hope one day to see the outside of your cottage when finished.
Getting emotional seeing it all come together. Your taste and style is so similar to mine. You're giving me so many ideas, I love the paint colors! You are so good at marrying modern and traditional.
Hey MaCenna, I used to design kitchens for a living and I know that you can't order drawer bases larger than 36" wide... I"m pretty sure that's because of the weight distribution and the strain on the drawer glides. You are probably going to need some additional support (so a third under-mount drawer glide) if you are planning on doing a 45" drawer base cabinet. Even then... I would probably opt to do a 36" drawer base and a 9" wide base cabinet or base pantry pull out. That's just me though ;). So excited to see your kitchen come together! You're doing an awesome job!!
Also... it may be too late for this... BUT... an awesome custom add-in for cabinets is converting the toe-kick into a drawer. Push to open drawer glides are used and they spring open. They are AMAZing for storing baking sheets, serving trays, and linens.
You are a force to be reckoned with. Keep up the great work. On the coffee bar, you’ll want to put a filler piece on each side made out of face frame material, cut to fill the small gap you have. This will ensure nothing can get trapped back there like rogue coffee beans. When painting cabinetry, it’s best to use the same dye-lot from Benjamin Moore when painting the doors. That way, everything matches and you don’t have small differences in color related to having a different batch of paint or even the age of the wood. With opaque colors the wood is less of a factor. Best of luck! I’ll be rooting for you to get the kitchen of your dreams 😌🌛💫
Cabinet designers will normally leave a minimum of 3” of wall at the end of a run. If not just to fit light switches next to wall cabinets, it will add the space to accommodate crown mouldings. So if you plan to build a wall cabinet above that 45” base, you will need to make the wall cabinet leas than 45” if you plan on having crown mouldings. If so, you may want to make that base smaller to match the width of the wall cabinet unless you don’t mind them being 2 different lengths.
Putting in the corner cabinet and finding it was a perfect fit made me use the expression we used when I worked. (Retired jet engine mechanic for Dept. Of Navy). We would say, “just like it had eyes!”
I'm just living vicariously through Macenna, doing ALL THE THINGS home reno and decor related that I'd love to be doing.

Very exciting... I love Tuesdays and Sundays!!
It makes me so happy to see your videos that I ran to show my husband and showed him how you did the kitchen cabinets and the other gazillion things you have done. I felt so proud for you. Now maybe He will lend me his tools or else I'll go get my own. Thank you so much. 💓
Your home already feels so homey! I can’t wait to see all your visions come to life 💗
Drawers are definitely my preference. And now, for the cabinets we do have, we have installed slide outs. Such better access!
You make building cabinets look so easy!
You have to be the BEST cabinet maker ever. Your skills and talent are over the top.. you4 home is so gorgeous because of you.....
Those lights are incredible. Pashmina yum. Romeo is such a helper. That 45" cabinet would be my baking center.
I was sad when this video ended- I could have watched another hour at least without stopping! I'm so invested!

I look forward to your reno of your 110 year home. You have done an awesome job, I live in San Antonio and hope one day to see the outside of your cottage when finished.
Love this small but amazing updates!
Getting emotional seeing it all come together. Your taste and style is so similar to mine. You're giving me so many ideas, I love the paint colors! You are so good at marrying modern and traditional.
Hey MaCenna,
I used to design kitchens for a living and I know that you can't order drawer bases larger than 36" wide...
You are a Wonder Woman! I love the cabinet paint color. Very calming & “antiquey” looking.
MaCenna, you are so talented! I don’t have the patience or skill to put together IKEA furniture let alone build anything from scratch!
Go Romeo and McCenna!!! You are getting there quick!
I agree with you about the drawers, not only to organize but also to use.
I get so excited when I see you uploaded
I just am so glad and grateful to follow along with you. It's brought so much joy over the last few years !
Everything is coming together so perfectly! Thanks for taking us along on this wonderful makeover of your cottage.
I love the Pashmina colour. It was my immediate choice. I can’t believe how fast everything is coming together now. You Rock!
Putting in the corner cabinet and finding it was a perfect fit made me use the expression we used when I worked. (Retired jet engine mechanic for Dept. Of Navy). We would say, “just like it had eyes!”
These are so creative and I love to watch them. Your personality is so great ,it's like I know you now .
