NICE!! at 2:43 I was like "has he tried the pitch bend strip yet?" then BAM! at 2:47 he goes for it! well done! I just created a "Microfreak" playlist starting with this song!
This track is simply beautiful, and is well composed! It was one of the videos that helped me decide to pick up a MicroFreak for myself! Well done! I love the use of the pitch bend ;)
Really nice song man! I just picked up the microfreak and really love it. The whole time i was watching your matrix and most of the sounds you used were really simple. Shows how powerful this thing is. Really great song. Inspiring me to dig into mine more. Great job!
That thing sounds great! I've seen it in stores, but never took it seriously... Wow, I love Arturia! Thanks Payton, Micro Freak will be the perfect Christmas present for myself. Yes?
I have the MF too... but I’m not so good ... man, you just showed how we don’t need a 5000$ piece of gear to make outstanding track! Well done. Microfreak is best gear for the bucks.!!!!
Magic . I’ve got a long way to go, but I do have the freak to guide me… I wish my two hands had half a hope of being as proficient as just one of your eight!
Just got my own as a first instrument, very eager to test it out after work, even if I just spent the first few months making weird noises with it that's fine by me
Bought a Yamaha Reface CS. Then a TASCAM 4-track Pocketstudio. (DAWs have more features than I need.) Next week? Buying the MicroFreak. Next month? Help! GAS has got me! Having a blast...
Great stuff. Enjoying the tune. Great sounds. Very inspirational. I got my Novation Circuit last week and I've got a couple of loops under my belt. The idea is to go daw-less - which I think is what you're doing as well. Anyway - thanks for sharing!
@@PaytonCarterMusic thanks for the reply man. Im ordering the rc505 and freak but don't know what to do about drums as good machines are hundreds and I'm a novice with ableton etc
I actually got rid of the Microfreak not long after this video was made. I really didn't like working with the keyboard; 2 octaves was really limiting for me, and it was hard to play accurately. I also didn't love a lot of the sound engines. Arturia has added some additional engines since then, but the price has increased as well (I got mine for $230 open box). I don't have any hardware synths at the moment, I'm more of a hardware groovebox/software synth kind of person.
@@PaytonCarterMusic I feel the same. I love the modulation possibilities but it's currency in the box. I made a couple of tracks with it eg th-cam.com/video/FoBHl01xQYw/w-d-xo.html but I have more instant fun with the JD-Xi and Cat. I still have to try to tweak it live as I feed the freak from a daw but yeah.
Do you plug the microfreak directly into your interface to record onto reaper? Sorry kinda new to synths and i want to get the freak but i dont know how well it works with reaper.
Yep, that's exactly it. Just straight from the audio out of the MicroFreak into one of the inputs of the audio interface. Should work like a charm with Reaper.
MicroFreak, is a MacroBeast! I have two now, and they are so much fun to play with. Great performance, you have a great talent for this. Really like the split screen presentation. May I ask, how you did sound on sound, with the four video parts? What video editor or plugin did you use? Thanks for creating and sharing this inspiring/uplifting video. Best wishes for your continued success.
Thank you for the kind words! I recorded and arranged synth parts in Reaper, so it's all (except the drums) just the MicroFreak multitracked over itself. The video was edited in Davinci Resolve.
Unreal track! If you only have one micro freak how do you sequence the different sounds? I’m guessing with a computer but if you didn’t want to use a computer is there a way to do that or do you need 4 micro freaks to make this?
Thanks! Each instrument was its own take, which I layered on top of each other in my DAW. If you wanted to do this live you would need 4 MicroFreaks :)
1:05 the drum is microfreak too ? i want start electro,, and i think about this microfreak for first buy,, but i need a drum too isnt ? (sry for my english)
The thing I'm most impressed by is the octave switching. Seamless!
It took many takes to get it perfect :)
Have you ever saw the video of Dorian Concept playing the Mini Nova?
@@toddsmithselbow1732 My mind is officially blown. Thank you for recommending that.
@@kolvis6626 No problem, the comment reminded me of that.

Best micro freak demo I’ve seen
Brilliant! Didn’t know this little freak could do such a beefy brass. Lots of low end I didn’t expect. Great performance, great track!
I have got one myself end the bass sounds you can come with are super good !

Wow this is incredible! Well done showing off the power of the MicroFreak!!!

That solo was a jaw dropper. Great track!
That arp from 2:09 sounds soo good.
Very cool! Mine’s arriving tomorrow - can’t wait to get my hands on it. Looks like so much fun.

This is so heavy, love that you show the process live too!
Wow best microfreak performance 👏
Really like this track. You did such an amazing job using MicroFreak. The bass is def my fav sound.
Outstanding. One day I hope I can make stuff half as together as this
Great Job dude. I bought one 2 weeks ago and I love it! Watching you really shows me what it can do.
You really showed what this synth could do! Well done! Loved the track too!
Still considering picking one of these up. Love how warm and versatile these sound.
With all the different and unique sound engines, it's definitely one of the more versatile hardware synths you can get.
Leon iam the same as you I want one but wish it had normal keys otherwise I would of thrown money at it ages ago lol
@@chrisfalcus you can plug a midi keyboard on it.
Beautiful track showing a lot of taste and musicality, excellent stuff!
Multimicrofreaky!! Great stuff! And inspiring for us that have only used the microfreak on one track.
Multimicrofreaky! I like that! :)
I hope some day to be this talented with my MicroFreak. :-)
Amazing composition! I fell in love with MicroFreak.
This is one of the best and most impressive jam on TH-cam!
yo this is amazing
Super neat! Not even much use of mod matrix, beyond great playing.
love seeing TAL stuff in peoples setup. NoiseMaker is 👌
Right? How can you go wrong with free effects that sound this good!
that lead solo part just before 3 in was sweet
this is my favorite synth of my mini collection , good job so !
Very NICE. Microfreak is a Behemoth!
There needs to be more calming synth music. This was good.
Very good 👍🏻
Ooh I love this! Great bass sound as well
So impressive! Just ordered an MF and can’t wait to start practicing on it. Your playing was amazing!
Holy shit! That tapping thing on the last note!
Favorite MicroFreak song for sure. Good job!

I think it would! :)
Super inspiring man! Those solos are epic!
What an excellent choice of sounds man !!
Very creative. So many one fingered players online. Very nice.
Nice job! I just picked up a MicroFreak and am always looking to see what other people are doing with theirs.

Such a fun tune!

Microfreak is best gear for the bucks.!!!!
After watching some of your Circuit videos and this, I can say you are very talented. Subscribed.
Thank you, I really appreciate it! :)
Arturia has made the Juno synth for the ‘20’s. Affordable, great sounds and portable. Why don’t i have one yet?!
Dope! Was this sequenced inside of micro freak?
Very well arranged, great job!
Brilliant!!! very good performance I enjoyed it

Amazing sounds for a great track 👍😉
Yes man thank you this was awesome . Definitely grabbing one now

Really nice one! Completely differs from similar stuff, well done ;)
This is sick! Great job
omg i love it..... really beautiful job

Thanks. I'm still trying to decide what to buy as my first synth. (Actually first musical instrument...)

Very nice!!! I just bought one recently. Which preset did you use for the lead melody?
Impressive! :-O I need to better understand my Microfreak to get more from it. Thanks for this! So inspiring.
Incredible! Thanks for sharing!
The dislikes must be trap or reggaeton 'producers'. This is so spectacular and beautiful ❤️👍👍👍
Sick burn with putting producers in quotes 🤣
Such sick burns! I love creating fictional gates dictating who is or is not an artist!
That bass 😍
Very smooth
Wow, working that octave shift like a boss.
Don't let the video fool you, it took at least 100 tries to get a clean take of that solo! :D
Absolut Nice self created Song. 🤩
Great Job! It is so wonderful sound!

This is badass dude
Great track man
hi, cool song, the kick n snare are made with the micro too?
Anyone who knows speak up! I'm going to buy the freak but I don't think my wallet could manage an expensive drum machine!!
andrew huang has a video on his channel where four producers use only the microfreak to make songs. i’d recommend watching that to get more info
All the drums are samples, everything else is made with the MicroFreak.
@@PaytonCarterMusic thanks for the reply man. Im ordering the rc505 and freak but don't know what to do about drums as good machines are hundreds and I'm a novice with ableton etc
Love what you did here!
This is unbelievable. Is this in the Dorian scale?? Please some tell me
Incredible track man!
What should I look up to learn to noodle like that?
This noodling is all I got for 8 years of piano lessons ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
nice track, great camera work too
Hi! Can you edit the sequence while it plays the sequence?
I don't have the MicroFreak to reference anymore, but if I remember right, when you start to enter a sequence, it immediately clears the old one.
On point! Great job well done. 🎹
What's the patch for this fat brassy 3 note bassline?
Custom patch based on the supersaw engine

Now considering the System 8 :)
Can you save the song in the MicroFreak itself? Or do you output it to DAW software somehow? Thanks!
I record and multitrack into a DAW. You can save a sequence on the MicroFreak, but that's about it.
Do you plug the microfreak directly into your interface to record onto reaper? Sorry kinda new to synths and i want to get the freak but i dont know how well it works with reaper.

Dope man! Love it!!😍😍😍
Sounds here are great
Brilliant! Would you be willing to talk to someone fairly new in this field?
What program do you use for the video and sound?
DaVinci Resolve
That's cool AF!
Ok so the MF can be used with DAW effects then
😁 Very beautiful indeed
Impressive!
Great track. Look at the 14 haters. The MicroFreak is amazing for the price, especially with the new vocoder!!!
Good for the price but still sounds a little flat. Better than the V collection though
Now all haters are gone :)
