  • I am re-discovering guitar after a finger injury, and remembering how old tube amps are such a beautiful cheat code for instantly stunning tone.

The cracke of the dirty potentiometers actually added some awesome vibes. This style of solo guitar playing is awesome to see because it is so different from mine. Refreshing.

Glad you liked it! Been trying to learn more about playing lately. I feel like inevitability I always hit some kinda of plateau and need to search more.

you deserve views. good quality content and editing too.
i wasn't sure if you're being ironic about rosewood and maple fretboard tones 😅

Im quite curious about the guitar?

TY! It is a 1969 Teisco S-2, supposedly made only for the Japanese market. They say its a little rare but I see them pop up here and there. The neck feels amazing, pickups sound great and that headstock is just absurd haha.

But why are tube amps cheating... i don't quite understand

maybe I should of said "cheat-code" I just mean that they sound so good you don't have to try hard like when recording direct and applying 5+ plugins to try and get some "flavor"

Neither rosewood nor maple have any effect on the tone. It's all in the strings (gauge, material, flat/round) and the pickups... the rest is myths guitarists and saddly luthiers believe, proven BS

I get what you're saying, and I agree in principal, but maple fretboards are slippy AF, and the unintentional bends definitely affect my tone.

No excuse for injuring yourself. Ever. Stretch before you play or practice. If it hurts- STOP!- and go back at least one step.
