We went on this ship many years ago when she was still for families. 04:50 on Christmas eve we stood roughly in this spot to watch Santa appear at the top of the ships funnel. Apparently he'd run into technical difficulties and was forced to land on the ship to make repairs to his sled (captain made the very serious announcement over the ships tannoy). Handily this also gave him plenty of time to deliver presents to all the kids on board too. My young children thought it was magical.
@@Crankclawhammer I know. Me & my friend were supposed to go to Mustique via a catamaran from St Vincent. My hubby had paid for it for my birthday. Was gutted that we didn’t go. I enjoyed Antigua though - our emergency option as we couldn’t go to Guadeloupe either. We went to Dark Wood beach - was lovely. At least the sea there was calm, compared to Barbados.
Thanks for another fantastic vlog, Jamie & it was nice to hear Maffoo as well. He did a great job 👏 Well I'm surprised to say that we're so impressed with Aroura! I'm not sure if we are getting old, but we loved the classic look of her & your vlog has now made us want to take a cruise on her 😂 I think it will be our quest now to cruise on every ship in the fleet 😁 x
Fabulous Ship Tour! One of the best we've seen... informative, unhurried and enjoyable to watch ( loved the guest narrator too! ) Big thumbs up from us 👍
Lovely ship tour and thank you for the guest speaker , well done Maffoo . Love Anderson's on the older ships and the crows nest a must for us 😁😁. Great vlog
Living across the pond from you, I knew nothing about P&O ships. They really are lovely. Watching you walk around the ship, I enjoyed Maffoo’s voiceover and style. Switching between the two of you added great variety. 🙏 for Maffoo. 🙏🫶 for Jamie.
We just been on aurora. The ship is lovely. Not overcrowded. Found seats easy. Staff amazing. Food amazing. Will be back. We had inside cabin as short cruise. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Dancing till very late
Thinking of taking a short cruise on Aurora so thanks for useful tour. I hope you can holiday on this vessel without the high-tech overload of some of the newer megaships?
Great vlog as usual Jamie Aurora looks like a fine example of a classic cruise ship. I hope that the obsession Cruise lines appear to have with building larger ships does not lead to the demise of the smaller more intimate ships. Off to Iceland on Arcadia end of July really looking forward to that.
Ah looking at that man swimming in the pool at the beginning in warm sunshine made me want to jump on a plane and the heck outta Blighty! If it rains anymore I think the entire UK will become a cruise ship and float off - let's hope to somewhere roughly near either Bermuda or the Bahamas!
Great vlog Jamie. Aurora doesn’t look as fuddy duddy as I thought( only tried Azura Iona &Ariva with P&O) we liked the adults only idea. Although an old bird she looks in fairly good shape, unfortunately the same can’t be said about me. Enjoy Orlando trip.✈️🥂
Tiered sterns are lovely compared to the modern flat tower block look, Fred Olsen Balmoral is an even older ship and has the same kind of stern (so much more aesthetically pleasing imo)
Time to get those steps up!

I remember Christmas onboard too - those were lovely days
I came back one week ago. I just had a 24 night cruise to the Caribbean. Totally enjoyed it.
❤️❤️❤️
Same I was on that cruise as well, pity about being unable to dock at St Vincent though with that damaged cargo ship but ah well ^^.

@@TravelBlogJamiehi Jamie, on the Aurora Bruges day trip do you have to go through any sort on passport control on French soil?
@@kathleenmcgovern8669 you have to go through a separate terminal on return to the ship through customs but not always having to show passport

She is a lovely ship, and no kids😊, But I wish they would update the tv and movies to watch.
👍👍👍
I hear maffoo ❤
You do
@TravelBlogJamie we were actually meant to be on the cruise that's just left but we changed it. We would of passed each other in southampton 😊
What an elegant Old Lady! Still beautiful. My last cruise on Aurora was in 2010. Love the commentary switch over between Maffoo and Jamie!
❤️❤️❤️
Navio bonito e com boa qualidade e luxo , quase igual ao Oriana . Espero que muitas pessoas viajem nele . 😊
