For me I don't care that inferior resolution as i don't see much difference in real life, it's only on paper. With my current budget I will definitely get the XR. But if money is not a problem i will certainly go for the XS Max.

I just traded in my XR for the XS max yesterday and I’m loving it!!! I loved the XR but the XS max looks so premium especially the gold color that I got an bigger screen with Oled screen. Both are great phones but if you have the cash go for XS max!!! I’m loving it!!!!!

Cecilia Torres depends on your credit and if your trading in a phone and what deals they have. My advice is look around an ask different carriers what deals they have. The new phones are comming out next month so my advice is to wait till the new phones come out then get the XS max as the price will be lowered since the new iPhones will come out and really good deals.

XR is truly a spectacular phone. It’s for the ppl who want that new Apple all screen design but don’t/can’t dish out over 1K dollars. YES- the XS/Max/X are slightly MORE spectacular than the XR, but that doesn’t mean the XR sucks! Plus the battery & speed are better and that matters more to many ppl than the LCD vs OLED

Actually, I find XR having a better hand feeling, as I also better like it's size compare with XS Max. I do not bother the LCD Display, as I find it very bright and accurate

I’ve held both in my hands. I actually like the look and feel of the XR better but the size of the XS Max better.
If you’re coming from a non-OLED phone, go for the Xr because if you’re used to OLED it’s hard going “backwards”. But if you do a lot of creative photography, go for the Xs.

I don’t think anyone realizes this, but he said there’s no 3D Touch on the xr. My current freaking 6s has it. I used it for everything, so it’s kind of a deal breaker for me. Guess I’m dropping $350 more 😒
Jesse Palmateer 3D Touch IS A BIG DEAL! That was one of the deciding factors for me to get the Xs Max. I used 3D Touch when I had the iPhone7. Can’t live without it now

For that extra $350, you're getting 3D touch, Larger/ better screen, 2 cameras, and stainless steel frame. It's well worth the extra money if you can afford it.
The other colors of the XR aren't a big deal because you can buy colored cases anyway.

Jonathon Mecklenburg Good luck man. When I switched at first I was shell shocked. Android offers a computer like experience and everything just kind of works, but, iPhone has major benefits over Android. 1) Privacy. 2) Battery life. 3) Cell data used is less, not always sending my location to Google. 4) Updates at least twice a month and continues for five years on a single device. 5) Apps just work, very fluid, smooth, and the phone never seems to slow down. He’s the thing, on a day-to-day basis the iPhone wins hands down. Very reliable and completely lag free, forever. My only and biggest complaint, the damn headphone jack, seriously. Can’t count how many times I wish it was USB-C or just a plain ol’ regular jack.
I actually did not have much of a problem switching I ended up going with the XR and it isn't a bad phone honestly. I have the controls of the pone down now had it for a couple of weeks. I was one of those Anti-iPhone Android owners now I am pro Apple. I got an iPhone liked it so much i just bought a iMac computer.

I’ve tested these 2 phones in the shop and honestly there is no reason to pay 350$ more for the xs max. The xr is just fine. Plus next year they’ll probably change the xs and max design.

I had both these phones. Xr is a beast of a phone. Pictures and videos are extraordinary and I love how the battery lasts. Now for the Xs max…. Feels amazing , more premium and the scream is amazing 😭🔥 but the battery is not as good as the act but not as bad.
A lot of people talk about how they don’t mind the screen , but I did. The car was hard to look at during daylight but you can overlook it ( I couldn’t though )
I’m fortunate enough to have the Xs max but I must say that I do miss the camera of the xr.
If I was to recommend a which phone to buy, I’d opt for the xr for camera and amazing battery. Hope this helps

I got my XR last month and let me tell you it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I compared it’s screen to the XS and there wasn’t any major difference at all!
The battery on this phone is on a whole different level. It lasts me 2 full days for a moderate to heavy usage. In short it’s robust.
Camera is absolutely amazing and with the smart HDR it’s pretty great with photography. I never miss the telephoto. Single lens does the job pretty well.
Face id is pretty quick. Phone is very fast and does not heat at all (coming from an android).
Phone is a bit bulky once the cover and screen protector is put on. The 6.1 inch screen feels pretty big and is good to use. Not for the person who likes to use his phone by one hand.
XR feels as premium and stunning as the XS/X if not more.
In my opinion, just go for it as it is the newer phone and the specs are also good as compared to the X.

Rejaun Manderson it is definitely NOT how the screen is... Saki messed up here with that. Anyone can look themselves at both phones side by side. I was at my local BB and turned everything off and set to highest brightness .. they are similarly white and bright. My daughter said the Max was slightly brighter slightly whiter.. I could not notice.

The XS Max is built a lot better with the stainless steal frame as well you get a better screen, and I mean better lol typing on the Xr is very frustrating if your coming from a bigger phone.

I can afford the Xs Max but I still chose the XR over it for the simple fact that I like the color. I have compared them side by side and the only difference for me is literally just the size and the 3D Touch. Everybody have their own preferences. The X Max is just too big for my liking. Overall they are literally almost the same thing.

Is it me or do they just do random minor shit to the phones every year and overclock the processor and make crazy colors and say they're limited edition and this and that just to make more money and then change plugs to make more money and then take the jack off and some don't have SD cards I just don't like Apple Samsung you have the freedom to be able to download music and movies surf the web develop apps the possibilities are endless the iPhone always bands or discourages third-party content and everything has a price there's hardly any free apps there more or less work phones or people that have had nothing but an iPhone and never enjoyed our try to Samsung because what they hear about how iPhone is so superb the new Android is destroying the iOS system phone and Camera all-in-one sorry I had to vent
Watching on my iPhone 7plus, just swapped out the battery, gonna wait until the new iPhone comes out in September, then buy an Xs Max when the price drops.

The iPhone XS Max is a more rich phone
The Xs has a much brighter screen; you can tell, even in your video, that the whites are bright white compared to the Xr model. I own an Xs Max and was considering returning for the Xr, but noticed just how much of a difference there is, so I decided to keep my Xs. And yes, I made sure "true tone" was turned off on all phones when comparing them. I also have a Samsung S9+ and the Iphone Xs is much brighter than that screen too. I love the bright white on this new phone.
...out of interest, why were you thinking of returning Xs Max? i.e. too big, expensive, etc

He must have had the True Tone turned on in the x r and off in the x s max and he must doesn’t know you can get rid of the yellowish hue with True Tone turned on because my True Tone is on in my x r and my whites are on the cooler side with no yellowish hue because I know how to get rid of the hue.

Joao Redol have they now? I have never experienced or my family any flickering. Burn in is over exaggerated, i have extensively used a S8, S9+, Note 9 and a iphone x. No issues with flicker or burn in whatsoever. If you want to keep Apple in the dark ages with dated tech well keep buying their lcd phones, all other phone makers are oled.

Being that I own the phone I can tell when True Tone is on or night mode the screen isn’t yellow like he’s showing I know this for a fact and I’m use to OLED screens. With max brightness on there isn’t a yellowish hue to the iPhone XR period I don’t care what he said
Hi Leslie it is true what the true tone would look like on his video but unfortunately since i have iphone xr and my co worker have the xs max when we were comparing the two i got upset because when we actually put on the same amount of brightness without the true tone I saw how bright the xs max and that made the xr screen looks like it has its true tone enabled. Well i always wanted the xs max but when my phone broke down i had no choice but to buy the xr when my paycheck isnt available to buy the phone that i want but tmobile sucks coz they only have 14 days return policy and all that 2 weeks paycheks goes to the bills. Unfortunately that was the end of the month when my android phone acted up. LoL
That’s crap. Apple said the XR had a bigger and better battery. Supposedly the XR has the best iPhone battery in history.

I’ve had both phones XS max and XR and I love my XS max but the XR battery does last longer!
