One of country music’s greatest singers and songwriters. Marty Robbins left us far, far too soon. A voice as smooth as silk and so soft as a feather pillow.
I remember the night Marty Robbins passed. I was in 6th grade and wasn't sposed to be listening to my clock radio before I went to sleep, buy I did anyway. After it was announced on the radio I cried myself to sleep.
Thank you Ray for posting this great tribute. Dad had a radio on in the cow barn while milking the cows. The only song I heard my Dad sing with was "A white sport coat" . When he died I got him a pink carnation. He was ready for the dance above. He believed in our Lord Jesus. God bless
Beautiful voice. Wonderful songs. Great entertainer. I remember putting him on the bulletin prayer list when he was ill. I also remember putting his family there when he passed. Pastor loved him too so he didn't object.
MARTY ROBBINS WAS, IS AND ALWAYS WILL LIVE IN OUR HEARTS. A WONDERFUL ENTERTAINER, A VERY MODEST MAN HIS CELEBERATER NEVER WENT TO HIS HEAD, ALWAYS JUST MARTY. WE LOVE HIM AND HIS MUSIC. RIP ❣❣❣❣❣❣ YOUR FANS. NOW AND ALWAYS.
You make me so happy hearing your music, Mr. Stevens. I should listen to you daily to remind me that we still have hope. Thanks for everything...thank you so very much.
@ARLimon74: I'm a huge fan of Ray Stevens as well and there's nothing wrong with saying how much you liked seeing Ray participate as one of the presenters. I love this salute to Marty Robbins that Ray and Tammy presided over. Ray and Tammy hosted the 1983 Music City News Top Country Hits of the Year television special and so that is why the two of them, in particular, presided over this salute. My dad loves listening to Marty Robbins to this day. He sometimes has his songs playing on his cell phone.

My grandfather used to fix his cars at his shop in Glendale Az
Wow! That's cool!
Cool
Some Music and People are irreplaceable!
My husband like him too
I know right where I was when I hear on the car radio that Marty had died.
Simpler times. Such memorys Atlanta Ga had not even hit 1 million in all of Fulton county.
Great music
A true great!!!
Miss old Marty
Me too his best song was Don't wary about me.
Who will take the place of all our true country stars? Not these want to bes now days they don’t know what country is
The wannabes don't really do their own singing at all anymore. Some digital programming does "correction". It's disgusting.
Love Marty
I love Tammy songs
