What ties me to Marty? I live in Honolulu, and met Marty in the 70s. He invited me to drink coffee with him back stage. He was humble, humorous and natural. He asked me what life was like in Hawaii, and told me he raced cars to relax! Thanks for sharing this video!

Very nice video. I met Marty in 1977 and he was a really down to earth and friendly. If the story was not so long I would put it in here. But, I think it would take a page or two. But, I will let you know I met him along with Merle Haggard as they were touring together and I was welcomed up in each of their Buses in Kansas City, and had a great time that could not be repeated. From that meeting he invited me to come see him in Nashville if I ever got to town. I did, and this was a year later and he was kind enough to have me come to his office and chat. I don't think he remembered me from the first meeting but he said he did and he was very gracious. It's a memory I will cherish forever......

Marty Robbins is one of my very favorite country singers. There are so many songs that are great but for me I would say Big Iron is my favorite.

Marty Robbins had one of the most beautiful singing voices in country music. I can listen to "Don't Worry" every day. The personality that he had, his charisma on stage, how nice he dressed, and he loved to perform. My father and stepmother are buried not far from Marty Robbins, his wife, and Webb Pierce's graves. My husband, I, and my mother will be too. He left way too soon, but not forgotten. ❤From A Nashville Girl❤

I got to watch Marty race on a dirt track in Pocola, OK when I was a kid. He wound up going off the track in turn 1 and was too sore to sign autographs. He was a great musician and I loved his music.

Without doubt one of the all time great American singers with one of the greatest voices bestowed on any man. Add in his fantastic songwriting ability, no wonder so many of his contemporaries were so appreciative and in awe of his sheer, versatile talent.

I met Marty at Owensboro Speed Way when he was into racing. I was young but I still remember him in that jumpsuit. My uncle raced with him in midget racing. He had always been my favorite. I don't think he made a bad song. Lol. I wish I could find the movie that he stared in. It was about Sacora. Thanks for bringing all the memories back. Blessings love ❤️ and peace

IBeing fm the South, I was told it would be an even better tour if I added a little Southerness to my voice. Ppl from up North loved it! I was not hokey, but did want them to know I was apporachable. My fav song of Marty's was a tie....My Woman, My Wife, and A White Sport Coat. My favorite song to dance to in h.s. Keeo on doing what you're doing. God bless you, stay cool, and hope to see the next tour.

Marty died Dec 8 the day after my birthday. We heard the news while out on the road. My husband drove a truck for a living. Marty Robbins did not sleep well at night he would by WSM radio just show up. My husband was from Nashville and knew a lot of these great people. Jonny Paycheck gave my husband a western hat.
