Just my opinion after putting 700k on same motor in a T680, 13spd, w/Carrier APU.
1word...AFTERTREATMENT.
A. Replace Inlet/outlet nox sensors...easy n cheap.
B. Replace ALL def filters...Def tank has 2, def pump has one, doser valve might have 1....replace them all. Clean def doser head.
I dropped and drained def tank and swapped in new def Qual sensor as well(all done at 600k) soot level remained very low as I never idled more than 3-4 mins...used apu religiously.
Buy an agt actuator, keep in side box...that'll go as well. ...other than that.., the motor was bulletproof.
See you out there.
Good list, the only thing I would add is they are not cheap. Just did my output sensor on mine and it was $600 after the core charge! Rediculous what they charge!
Some parts have doubled in price. Paid over $400 for a nox sensor, that's with rebates😒
Dont run up in nj with a deleted truck. They check for that
Always good advice ✌️
GOOD TIPS!
Good job, Sammy👍👍👍
Nice truck man , best of luck to you.
That thing is so clean. Nice job getting ready for the road 🤙
Good looking truck 👍 Great information thanks 🙏
Good luck with it bud!!!
Nice truck buddy. Good maintenance tips
Good advice
Damn Sammy that engine is clean af.
Right on Sammy...ppl usually do t factor in any of that ..then they end up along side the road ...and behind a tow truck ..and the. End up paying double for everything out on the road ..so very good, investment information..thanks man .wish u well on this ad adventure..🤘🤙✌️
I have a 2020 579 ISX 565 18 spd. Bought it brand new only 300 miles. I have 423,000 on it now. Def sensor and J6 wiring harness is the only thing major I have had wrong. I love the truck. First new truck I have drove.
Got to love Cummins (Paccar) adding cores to all those sensors. 😑
Sharp looking truck
Want to also get 2 sets of hot and cold side boots too. Some extra clamps as well. Change out all coolant lines clamps. Get that drive shift balance and new clutch brake good 2 go
From my experience, if you have any brand APU, I strongly recommend taking it to that brands dealership and having them service it and pay extra time for them to really take it slow and check every little thing on it. Also download the manual for it and print it off so you have a copy in the truck when you’re stuck at a rest area in the middle of nowhere with no cell service.
Be safe buddy
Key bridge in Baltimore MD just callapsed be careful when booking loads peace
A sky/robin’s egg blue on those letters will pop with the white numbers
I've learned that the harmonic balancer should be changed every 4-500k. Not a bad maintenance item on a used motor. Of course a proper tune
I replaced mine around 900k, what a difference that made. All pulleys and tensioners need replaced at 500k miles
@mr_burky what difference did you notice?
@@dimab8753 Less vibration and noise, especially at 1,150rpm at full boost. The balancer is a critical vibration dampener, less vibration less excessive wear on the crank shaft bearings
Shit, new aero truck!
👌🏼
One of the first things I did with my 387 was to take it to Allison!
It a straight shift.
Look under the bunk or under that tripack main board cover. There will be a usb cable. Plug that into your pc. It has the program that thermoking uses. It will tell you the hours, you can change settings, and so on. There's a couple videos showing what settings to use if you don't want it to cycle on and off.
Thermo King won't give you the software unless you're a dealership, they don't care about the little guy. I switched to Green Apu and ain't going back
The software is installed on the board. It is on my anyway. All i did was plug in the usb cable from the board into my computer. It pops up.
Tripac Evolution.
I seen your logo on your truck and realized we are neighbors..my family on my dads side are from Ringgold
Small world 😎
Great content listening to you avoided bad leasing decisions on disc look through each holes with flash keep moving your wheels it’s a bitch that’s how I found my crack
No plans on tying the tubes up on this one Brodie?
Hey what’s up bro how are you much love
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Hi. How U Doing? Like the Video and Information!! Thanks. Nice 579! What going on with the W900, going Sale it, put another Driver in it or What?? I May have Missed that! Do What U Love, Love What U Do! Take Care Amigo 😇💪😎
All will be revealed soon 😆👊
What did you do with the KW?
Just wondering did you sell the Kenworth
You missed the turbo actuator and the Egr valve those out around 450-500k
I haven’t had those go out on me with my trucks. I replaced the things I’ve had issues with. Not saying it won’t lol but I’ll fix it then 😎
Great video. Where can I get the oil pan drain plug?
I got mine where I get it serviced. Most places will have one I assume
I would have had the fronts trued, and run centramatics all te way around
I don't just do a alignment on the front, I do all 3 axles. It costs less than the price of 2 tires
You can be the best driver on the road and still lose it all. I went through 6 engines in 2 years. Trucking with my own authority has destroyed me. If you have luck, you are fine. 2 years with minimum overhead and I'm currently trying to sell my truck and trailer with the 6th busted engine for what I owe on it. The way they have done us drivers is wrong. If everyone would quit pulling for bs rates, guys could actually build a business. If you are an owner operator now.... run. Get out of the business. It won't get any better!!!!
My biggest mistake was getting my CDL!!!
what kinda of truck is it and what year?
Everybody thinks different I wouldn't trust on those steer tires
How do you like the Pete, compared to your Kenworth
I like the room but prefer my w9 rolling 😂
Is that flex air how does it ride compared to the Kenworth?
Like riding on a cloud lol but the w9’s long wheel base makes for better ride over bumps
Beautiful truck what would you recommend to change out on a 2020 MX13 paccar?
Aftertreatment is virtually the same between paccar and cummins. Change Both nox sensors or carry extras, remove and clean 7th injector and def injector, change def fluid filters, maybe carry new def quality sensor. Check DPS tubes for any blockage or leaks, maybe carry a replacement sensor, remove and clean out turbo charge tube, remove and clean turbo pressure sensor, check VGT acuator and bpv for excess wear on the spring shafts, they normally do have a little soot around them but if they are really black they will need replaced. Check your EGR cooler and or have the egr system flushed once a year by a shop. I know I may be missing some things but thats off the top of my head for now.
Change out the Paccar motor and put in a Cummins 🤣🤣🤣
Not sure. I don’t know those engines like I know Cummins
best preventative maintenance is not to get a peterbilt
Lmao 🤣 then what then?
@@MakeCentsTrucking thats a good question to ask truck mechanics. find stuff that they don't like, because it doesn't break as often as peterbilt
Where the w9 at???
Fyi, take the part number off the belt and call oriley auto. They have a boat load of truck parts
What did you do with the W9
Driving it
What is the average 🤔 fuel mileage on that motor?
Who knows. Figuring it out
Why did you get rid of other truck?
I didn’t
0❤
Are you realated to the “flat top king”?
Who’s that? Maybe, I can’t know
It’s the hat and glasses. But.. love his stuff, I’m subbed now being a foodie 😂🙌😜
And… we may be related lol
First video I saw of yours I said, hey, that guy makes smash burgers lol.
Righteous rig Bro! Lot iof great tips. What are your thoughts on a paccar engine? Any advice?
As far as I know. They are gold! But I don’t know a mechanic that knows them so I stuck with a Cummins
Paccar is a hit and miss. My opinion they don't have all the bugs ironed out yet, a lot of shops won't work on them either. Those engines are very picky, if something ain't right they will fail tremendously. For example every cylinder in a Paccar engine is a different size🙄
Sensors.. hmmm
I thought u deleted
😜
Deletion is a serious offense. I did approx numbers, with over 20k in fines with replacing most of the DPF system you would have to run 10 yrs deleted to break even🤷. Cleaning the particulate filter every 200k miles, that's 8hrs in a commercial oven, at a dealership will help a lot. Change DEF fluid filter every 100k miles or less, don't be lazy with maintenance
U did a bad purchase ur putting a lot of money in that truck
Just keep watching 😎 I’ll keep going with it
Delete it homie!
Hell yeah, especially if you don’t run loads to Cali!!!!
As long as it passes a smog test they could care less otherwise
U should of bought a brand new truck anyway u will going broke with these new nowadays trucks they suck
To pricey
Hey Sammy, talk about why you bought this Peterbuilt vs Your old Kenworth? New Aero vs old Longhood? The difference is real, but is it really worth it?
I know(I drive Kenny's), but talk about it like I don't know Sammy!
Sammy did you let Rawze look her over?
Question 🙋♂️? Are you going to haul Propane tankers with the Big Steppers or are you going to Chase appointment times and bumping docks with the tiny steppers? 😲🫣, C’mon Sammy, don’t tell me you bought a big truck just to run junky freight with the puppy dogs. 😂
I’m staying with what I know lol
@@MakeCentsTrucking Tall foe, 👍😎👍 I hear ya.
