You mean to say this truck is nothing like replacing injectors on diesel Ford Superduty. What kind of mechanic is that. That doesn't know how to fit extra slim ratch and blindly turn and feel the bolt without being able to reach it with the hand.. Then you guys say oh we hardly ever rarely have to those jobs. Ughhhh, these are conversions not gliders like your truck. I have a 2018, new VIN, titled as a 2023, I use PACCAR VIN for parts and repairs only. VIN on title is strictly for FMCSA. You are talking about a glider which this truck IS NOT, it's a legal conversion that started as a factory built, emissions equipped truck and now all those parts are removed and entirely replaced. Your glider started as a chassis with a body, no motor, no transmission, it was assembled by an aftermarket company as peterbilt DID NOT assemble gliders, they sold the kits to companies like Fitzgerald. Apples and oranges, I've been buying gliders for 26 yrs, a true glider VIN on the title is directly linked to the freightliner or paccar system. This guy's truck VIN as per his title, is not, but again you simply give the dealer your trucks original paccar vin and it's no issues. I have more issues with my factory built freightliner glider and the dealers than I have had with Peterbilt dealers and our converted truck.
a company called jost make fifth wheels and the mounts for it the way we have them is having the angle on the outside and it bolted down instead of welded
i have a 2008 389 glider with a 3406e, but i would call this a repower, since it was ordered with another motor. my understanding is that gliders only come with a cab, front axle and frame rails, where as a repower comes from the factory complete then is motor swapped
Beautiful Truck... the thing id change are them silly looking headlights and replace em with either 359 or 379 lights making the Pete look Classy again (like the real Pete it is under the hood.)
No body controller on this unit, your dash has its own ecm on it. ESA which is the software that was used to get your dash working. Definitely not a glider but very common for people to go with this option which is a very good option & this is very legal. PACCAR engines are a pain working on them. It's called a Data Link, in Kenworth 2005build date was the last real truck they ever made, the dash is hard wired, my 2007 was not, everything goes to the computer on the engine, then that computer sends a signal to the dash, I hate it, if something goes wrong your going to the dealership
