Hi Dave - What an awesome model railway cabin you have, very jealous here. Love the layout, very enjoyable to watch, bet you waste hours and hours in there on a running session, I know I would. Have watched all your videos now and just waiting for the next one. Regards Chris
Enjoyed watching the update. Some nice new stock. The countryside house is looking good although not quite sure about the formal garden I that position. Think I'd have to try it in a number of places to be sure of it. That full rake of br blue and white look stunning atb Andy
Great update Dave, I like what you've done behind the TMD, it fits better than the hillside I agree. Some great additions to the fleet, especially like the new Bachmann 47 in Swallow, I saw them at the Doncaster Exhibition for the first time and they look very smart. Wonderful shots of the landscape in the running session, all in all a great video, nice one !! All the best............Andy
Nice ,Maybe replace the footbridge with a subway so if you change your mind about catenary it would be easier and if your putting a building on the covered bit fit your lift towers there ,coming on great
Stunning layout indeed ! Lovely 166. They sure ain’t cheap! Like you say shame Bachmann don’t bring out a GWR green one .. they do 150s 158s 800s etc . I put my name down on a reservation list for a GWR 165/6 years ago for one but it suddenly disappeared . Sound decoder and lights brilliant too. Keep up the good work ! 🤩
Brilliant work on the layout, it’s looking fantastic. Very nice new additions too, 37240’s looking particularly smart, as is 47828. The interior lights and sound really transform the new 166, it looks great. It reminds me, I saw a lighting cluster upgrade kit for the bachmann 166 a while ago on Facebook by a company called Track3D Railway Parts. Although of course not essential, it does improve the 166 and makes the front much more realistic. I’ve been tempted for a while to get one just to try out the upgrade, but I haven’t so far, so I can’t say if it’s any good or not. Looks it though! Brilliant video, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Thanks for your comment. I’ve seen the kit you are referring to however at £30 it seems quite excessive for 8 LEDs, I’ve messaged them to find out what’s included in the kit. It’s on the ever expanding to do list 😂
@@GoodfordModelRailway Ah goodness, I didn’t realise it was so expensive! That is quite a price for it, I’d hope it would come with more than just 8 LEDs for that money!
I really enjoyed the update! Regarding the station bridge in my opinion it is a little dated for a modern layout. If I had free reign over the layout I would add a small station entrance on the lower street built into the retaining wall (see Birmingham snow hill for reference) and then a larger concourse spanning all tracks above in the area where the ‘shopping centre’ would be (maybe station built into shopping centre?). Passengers could go back into the main station building to cross over to other platforms, go down to the lower street or over to the high street with shops! Let me know your thoughts!
Great video as always how do you gain access to your layout looked around the room layout and thinking of doing the same but access is on my mind once I have the new room built
Thanks! The room is accessed by a door and there is a section of baseboard next to the level crossing which lifts up and is hinged. You can see it on this video at around 17:33 . 👍
What power supply would you recommend for running DC? I have two Hornby power ones however they don't provide enough power for locos to run when a distance away from the power rail. On a DC layout
Thanks, I just use the iMovie app on the iPhone but TBH it’s a little finicky if you don’t have about 100GB of free space (known issue for years) when it comes to compiling the video. Cheers 👍
@@GoodfordModelRailway cheers will give it a go, I use an iphone as well, great quality resolution, but had issues using oneshot on windows, nice and easy to use but it reduced the resolution quality of the output.
@@staffordstationngauge8359 I record everything at 4k 60fps now, you have to be careful when saving to your phone on iMovie as the default settings seem to be lower so watch out for that if you do give it a whirl 👍
@@GoodfordModelRailway thanks for the quick reply, sorry to be a pain, another question, are the instructions easy to follow, I am new to Model Railwaying and so need easy to read stuff rather than something that is treating everyone as seasoned modellers, if you know what I mean.
@@colinedwards9874 the instructions are ok but not fantastic. I’m sure there will be a video on TH-cam of someone making them if you’re not sure. Failing that I’d suggest picking one up and having a go, what’s the worst that can happen… 👍
Excellent update Dave it is really coming along nicely and I like the Bachmann 47.
Cheers Kev

Good up date, the point carries look good and they are something different and nice running session at the end. Nice one.
Love the update, spot on !
You’ve got such a cool model railway
Beautiful layout. Lots of detail all around!
Cracking layout, I've subscribed! Joachim
Great to see a Salvation Army shop in the detailing as I have never seen that before..

Once more a great up date. The work behind the TMD is coming on nicely. Looking forward to see your next update. Stay safe.

I also agree with your comment regarding the passenger bridge in the station, maybe spray it a brighter colour ??????..
Overall I have to say superb modelling..
Great update as always did i see you have the Dapol Network Rail JNAs ? can i ask where you got the wagon loads for them from ?
I’m pretty sure they’re from Ten Commandments 👍
I would add a bus station (bus/rail interchange above the station
Great idea, thanks! 👍

I’d probably try using a Gaugemaster controller. How big is the layout?
Like the track carriers. What do you use for video editing? cheers

Hi, are the Arches on your layout the Wills Kits ones, and if so, what were they like to put together ?
Hi, yes they are the Wills kits and are straight forward to put together, even more so after you’ve done the first 20 of them…! 😂
