My all time favourite contemporary/ rock/ pop band period. Bought my first CASSETTE TAPE of them at 16! running in the family. Glad to see they are still doing it.
First saw them in 1982 at the Top Rank, Brighton UK. A week later I saw The Brothers Johnson at the same venue with the amazing Louis Johnson on bass. A surfeit of 'thunderthumbs'! 😍
How any people started bass purely because of this track and all the stuff that came after - and it still blows me away! Well done 42, you will always be in bass history as one of the greats. 🎉
Mark is in good company, because my back doesn't look as fresh as it did 35 years ago, but my front view is (still) presentable‼️🙏😉😜 Enjoy the channel‼️☝️
What makes great Mark King is the amazing music he plays with Level 42 .....Flea is a good bassist but plays shit music with rhcp as well as led claypool with Primus....the music to play for a bass player is disco funk and soul ...this is the genre that made bass players famous.
It's impressive how he can play these amazingly complex bass lines and sing something completely different.
The grandmaster ❤
How can you not love him
Mark and his trusty Jaydee bass, legend and so was the luthier. RIP John
@@stephenmitchell2979 enjoy my channel and through this bass playing John Diggins will ever be there. 👍 RIP! 🥲
Seen level 42 live a couple of times, absolutely amazing musicianship & a bloody good time while you're at it..
Mark has been performing professionally, playing drums and singing and then bass since he was 11. No wonder he is so damn good
And he's still playing the same thing he was when he was 11
Absolute monster
One of the very best.
Vail Johnson is the next that comes to mind.
There from the beginning and still loving Level 42🤘🏻
Great to see them out and about, doing what they love and hopefully making a few quid. 👏👏👏
The King of slapping Bass 👍
Larry Graham was slapping when Mark was still a child!

What a genius! I love pursuit of Accidents, brilliant Album.
Pursuits of Accidents is brilliant and remains my favorite Level 42 song.
Mark King. Playing through Markbass.. What a legend..
Good to see the Jaydee is out again best bass ever.
I saw Level 42 open up for Madonna and Mark did all that on one broken leg!! He was hopping around on stage and killing it
Awesome !!!
Am a FAN!!!!as bassist myself 😮

I totally agree with you ‼️🙏
he is a legendary slap machine, yet I enjoyed his fingerstyle more here and was hoping to get more of that.

No words 🔥🔥🔥
Visto live 1000 anni fa.
💯
0:58 love that even the great Mark King can't hide it on his face when he makes a tiny mistake!
@@ryangriffiths6130 we are all human beings 😉👍
7 kgs bass but I love the JD Supernatural too ! ;-)
I was there in 1981. Mark looks better than me 😀. They sound better than ever.
@@bartmulder6995 Enjoy my channel‼️👍
Bone player to Bass player ‘You’ve been thunderstruck’ brilliant duetting.
I really don’t like slap bass but I have to admire the technique skills and time groove. Not bad for a little white English guy. 😂
Shook hands with Mark at the jazz cafe and we talked about Harley Davidson bikes, he'd just bought one.
Tof zo dichtbij❤
@@naatje317 Bedankt‼️👍
That JD, OMG.
@@ninovladovic2937 Yes it is…👍

Mark's backside has flattened out a bit over the years, but his front side still looks as bountiful as ever!😍

That’s exactly what it is…👍
Don't like the bands music, however as a bassist, fuck yeah
Yep, his singing is boring asf

Boring - he's been playing the same stuff, the same hits, the same solos for 40 years!
@@carstenmanz302 🙄
Maybe. But he is packing stadiums STILL . js
Give your head a wobble!! 🙈🙈
I thought his solo was a knock off from the riff in Boz Scags' Dirty Low Down.
