9:04 Araragi "Hanekawa, do you like bananas?" Hanekawa "I guess I don't hate them. Besides, they are nutritious. If you insist on asking whether I like them or not, then yes, I like them."
Great content, you're really invested and it shows. Good call on the parents being cops, too; it definitely explains a lot. The other thing in this arc that explains a lot is Senjougahara's whole deconstruction of Hanekawa's pathology. In Bake, there's a scene where Araragi flips Hanekawa's skirt-you expect her to react naturally by freaking out on him, because he's out of line and you hate to see anime just hand-wave that kind of shit. But that's what makes her so uniquely weird: she lets it slide because she lets everything slide. Same deal with the gym scene in Kizu. Senjougahara figures out here that, all along, Hanekawa's been indulging herself-hiding in her comfort zone-by actively suppressing any shred of passion. She's been masking it as propriety, maturity, or whatever else...to the degree that she doesn't even care what food tastes like or that her father struck her. And obviously those feelings she's been suppressing can't stay bottled up; they need an outlet.
"Maybe because they're real they don't have to embellish themselves" is a direct rebuttal to Senjou's assertion that Hanekawa is "real", because Hanekawa is embellishing herself constantly by pretending to be dealing with her issues effectively. At least Hanekawa is taking it that way judging from her facial expression. When she's in front of the mirror, she seems to be taking a "good, hard look at herself", but by crossing her arms in front of her chest, she's literally censoring her own view of herself. Also you didn't watch the preview all the way through so you missed some crucial Koyomi/Karen lore.
little fun fact that might be obvious, but the reason the op is chocolate themed is because chocolate (specifically dark chocolate) can lower stress hormones.
Let's make a vote for watch order of Hanamonogatari. LN order is Hana after Kabuki, anime order is Hana after Koi. I think there are arguments for either of these but i prefer anime order because I feel this order makes Koi more impactful.

Gaharas favorite manga is FMA.
