Thank you. When I was new to GA we shared a hangar with a medivac outfit. Occasionally they would call in for someone to bring a 55 gallon drum and meet them at the hospital as they needed fuel to make it home from the hospital. Now I know how they did it. Thank you and be safe.
Another great video-was taught the same way same cap in the seat. Had a guy I flew with said someone had stolen his fuel cap while he was refueling, we found it in the grass by the fuel farm-He must of missed the cap in the seat lesson 😎
I really like your newbie stories. If you ever own a boat that you trailer, “ALWAYS PLACE YOUR WALET AND CELL PHONE IN YOUR VEHICLE WHEN LAUNCHING AND RETRIEVING YOUR BOAT.” Boat ramps can be very slippery. Ask me how I know?
I really like this channel, thanks to explain so well everything. one question, how do you know how much did you put it in to pay, or to bill it.? And if you refuel at the airport, you do, or some company does?. thanks
Hi Diego, When filling up out of drums our company has usually placed them there ahead of time using a helicopter and slinging them in or by having a fuel company deliver them. When filling up at an airport the airport will either bill the helicopter company directly if they have an account or we use a credit card and expense it back to the company. Airports either have a fuel truck that comes to fill you up or pumps with a credit card machine just like when you fill up your car. As for the fuel amount we take as much as we need depending on the weight load of the helicopter, cargo and passengers.
@@neysone6995 the industry standard is made by Great Plains Industries and is commonly referred to as a GPI pump and generally pump between 12-18 gal per minute depending on the model.
Technically yes if its a gas turbine, but not recommended. This is a good read: www.bp.com/en/global/air-bp/news-and-views/views/ever-wondered-what-the-difference-is-between-jet-fuel-and-diesel.html
Jetfuel is similar to diesel and requires vaporization then the correct fuel to air ratio to ignite. Looking into a barrel with a flashflight is safe and standard industry practice when refuelling from drums.

How long does it take to refuel?
If its a refuelling truck, only a couple of minutes. If its from drums with a slow delivery pump it can take around 10 minutes.
@@PilotTeacher if you don't mind, can i know what kind of you are using?
@@neysone6995 kind of what? Fuel??
@@PilotTeacher i mean, the kind of fuel pump you are using..

Will a helicopter run on diesel fuel?
Technically yes if its a gas turbine, but not recommended.

Will you stop fastforwarding it
You can ignite gas with the flash light so close
