    Don't know if you'll ever read this and there's certainly no way you'll remember, but a few months ago we had a chat on here. After mulling it over for a long time I did the crazy thing, quit my old job and I'm a full time student now. I went solo 2 days ago and I'm going full steam ahead with the plan to get a game capture rating. It's been an adjustment, but I've never been happier. Your story made me realize some of the things I thought made my dream impossible weren't actually that much of a barrier at all. Fly safe.

      @@PilotTeacher Hello Rick, my real name is colin. I'm a CFII. I was offering to email Nazumi a few study guides I had. PDFs and word docs. It sounds like he's from NZ and I'm American, so some of the airspace and regulatory stuff may not apply.

    Honestly, communicating with the ATC when I was first getting into flying planes (before COVID) was and still is my biggest fear. I feel like sometimes I can't even understand what they are saying or I hear it but get locked up with what to say. Or worse, when they spit out a huge line of things and you have to repeat it all back. I'm just like, "How in the world can I remember that all?"
    That reason alone was what made me stop flying after things got to somewhat normal after COVID. But I guess it worked out as I switched to helicopters.
    I got the PlaneEnglish app a few months ago and it really helped me and made me realize it is mostly saying repeating things and knowing what to expect what ATC is going to say and being ready for it. Don't have much of a fear now over it.

    I love your videos! I eventually want to be an EMS pilot and am going to start flight school soon, but don’t know which path to take. Would you recommend going to a collage with a 4 year program or a private flight school?

    • @PilotTeacher
      @PilotTeacher  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don’t need a degree to be a helicopter pilot. If you want to get a degree then a 4 year program is a great way to go but of you don’t then flight school is the path.
      Most pilots I know do not have a degree, myself included. Selecting a flight school is important to help get you the right skills and setting you off on the right path. Check out PilotTeacher.com and take a look at the course I created on exactly this process. Good luck pursuing your dream!

    Hello I am someone who has never flown in a helicopter and after watching your videos I have a want to become a commercial helicopter pilot and I was wondering if it was needed to have a college degree in order to have a successful career in this and if you have any tips i think that would be really cool.

    • @PilotTeacher

      Hey Big D. Most pilots I know do not have a degree. When pilots were in abundance many of the airlines would want a degree but due to the severe pilot shortage companies are just happy if they can get a full pilot roster!
