Thank you for taking the time! Very thorough and useful content! I'm assuming ram speed also plays a part in this equation, right? Specially for Ryzen systems? Also, EFT beta was released 5 years ago. One would expect it to run fairly decently on average/ older set ups, but that is far from true...
Thanks for this video! It’s nice to see someone show how to benchmark the game and not just show the results. It’s good for learning what’s really going on.
I would recommend Riva Tuner over MSI Afterburner. Afterburner only has one dev who hasn't been paid in 9 months by MSI and is no longer actively updating or supporting it. He said he'd do it as a labor of love in his free time, but he is the same person who develops Riva Tuner so I'd rather use the app he actively works on, especially if you're using the Riva Tuner overlay already
Funny this video was sponsored by a company that won an award by PCGH because I first built my PC by consulting with users and mods from the PCGH discord lmao. It was all German and I was learning German at the time so I figured it'd be a good way to keep learning.
Thanks a lot. I tried lot of different configurations and I can't get max stable fps with a RTX4080 and i5 13600k. Fps moves randomly between 100 and 135, no matter low of high quality (online raids). My GPU usage it's about 40/60% most of the time, so I suspect that I am doing something wrong.
That kind of variation is not unusual for EFT, specially on maps that are not fully optimized like lighthouse. Clearly if the gpu is 40-50% usage, than there's a bottleneck elsewhere. Your cpu is also a high end part, but what's usage there? EFT is very finicky and very demanding on cpu and ram. Have you looked up his next video, where Chris goes over the game settings? Specially the cpu heavy stuff, like visibility, FOV etc... Another important point is what kind of power setting you have on the Nvidia control panel, the "power management mode" should be set to "Prefer maximum performance". Also check the equivalent "max performance" on windows power options.
No. You won’t see high CPU usage numbers even in CPU limited scenarios. Tarkov does not provide a constant load over all cores. Just a bunch of very short loads delivered over different cores. As long as your GPU is not maxed out, you are CPU/RAM Speed limited.
What are your thoughts on amd’s VSR setting? I have a 1080p monitor and have been experimenting with upscaling to 1440 vs 2x supersampling. You could also upscale your resolution and use DLSS or FSR when you otherwise couldn’t when running 2x supersampling.
Screwing with up/downscaling is all personal preference. In my opinion both methods look like ass.. But if it looks fine for you and you get closer to the fps you want use whatever works.
The main thing limiting my performance is EFT 😐 I have a 12900K and 4090 and even while getting 200FPS it was only using 25% of my CPU and 33% of my GPU. Just use all of them 😭
Your 4090 will not be used fully unless you play in 4K with max settings without DLSS. Meaning a 4090 is just too powerful to be stressed by EFT. CPU load in Tarkov will never reach high values since it‘s not a constant load on your CPU like a benchmark, but a bunch of very light short loads shared over the different cores. So don’t be disappointed by the GPU/CPU usage values. As long as you get good FPS, everything is fine.
@@totallyacroen that should not be the case though, especially when I’m getting 120fps on lighthouse and the utilization actually drops, it’s poor optimization to the max. If I was maxed out CPU wise sure that makes sense but my CPU is no where near a limiting factor, I also play at 1440p so on most modern demanding titles I actually end up GPU bound
I can assure you, that your CPU is the limiting factor despite low load readings. And I sadly have to disappoint you with your 200 FPS average target. I’m benchmarking CPUs in Tarkov atm. Not even a 13900K and 7950X are managing that. German version of the benchmarks video is releasing shortly. Will follow up with an english version.

Hmm I am using msi afburner now for the overlay. And what I can see is that my gpu is always around %95 usage and cpu 2%. Does this means the gpu is bottlenecked?

Gj, but i was allways wondering how streamers get good performance like landmark when im watching him play it looks so smooth , i wonder what settings hes using or tweaks
not much, this game is just really unoptimised and the devs neglect optimising it because 'technically the product is a BETA' and so theyll just keep delaying actually fixing the game so that it becomes playable for many more users, I'm on a 5800X / 6800XT and even with everything Low I can't get above 60 on Lighthouse and most maps are just 60/80 FPS. It's bad, if anything I'd prefer if Nikita stopped adding new stuff and focused on performance for awhile.
you want your gpu to always be at 99percent. Its better to have a gpu bottleneck than a cpu bottleneck. You are cpu bottlenecked. Cpus never work 100% on videogames, only do when on hyperthraded applications(most games use less than 4 physical cores) Every time your GPU is being utilized under %90-100 percent, it means you are CPU bottlenecked.
