about two months ago I received an email from the Italian consulate that my citizenship has been recognized. Next step passport appointment in December.
Great job guys. Currently a client with Marco and they have nothing but professional and prompt. They know their stuff. I can't stress this enough... do not risk this stuff with someone that does not know the process or how to do it. Marco and his team are pros. Only go with them.
Can you do an episode on the qualifications and/or restrictions if you or your children actually want to join the Italian military after citizenship by descent is recognized?
Thank you for this and all your other videos. They are very interesting and informative and very helpful. I am very grateful to both Marco and Rafael for their diligent, clear and detailed elucidation of these important issues around Italian citizenship and related matters. It is very comforting that there are individuals like yourselves who are willing and able to help Italian individuals (by descent or otherwise) to clearly understand the associated processes. Thank you both. Grazie Mille 🙏😊🤝
This lawyer explains the subject so clearly. Excellent work. Very informative. I was nervous before watching as my Italian passport (which I received through my mother) is expired. I received this passport from the consulate NY where I live. I just got an appointment from the consulate through prenot@mi. I was totally confused about AIRE but now I understand.. The consulate sent me an application to fill out and I will bring on the date of my appointment. In New York appointments are already into mid November. I plan on living in Italy starting in April and will live there for 2 years on passive income(fixed Income). At that time I will decide If I want to stay permanently or go the 180 day route.
It's funny because I was going to send a message to you the last few days asking about A.I.R.E and if you could talk about it in one of your episodes. I stumbled on the need to do it (AIRE) when I looked into getting a passport through the consulate in Chicago.
If you were recognized as an Italian citizen by the Chicago consulate, you are already in AIRE. It is done as part of your initial application process. You only need to mess with AIRE if you moved.
We both got our codice ficale numbers last December while in Firenze yet do not have the plastic cards. They were not given to us while in Italy nor ever sent. How do we obtain them? We hope it is still possible. Grazie!
Thanks for all these videos. They are very helpful. I'm gathering documents, but have come across a large hurdle. My father passed through other countries before arriving in the US. He spent less than a year in each and never renounced his Italian citizenship. This was in the 1930s. Now I'm looking at gathering documents from those countries, having them translated and apostilles attached and also approved by the Italian consulates in those countries. Do you have any recommendations as to how to proceed?
per favore, un'altra domanda: between gathering the documents from two other countries or going through my mother's parents' line (both never gave up their Italian citizenship) and being born before 1948--which would be the easiest/quickest route to have my Italian cittadinanza recosgnized?
What is the name of the card to buy a refrigerator or rent a house ? The card the consulate is hesitant to give? Spoken about near the last half? Not the blue card. Thank you!!
How can a non resident Italian citizen, when entering Italy on a different passport, get residency to stay in Italy and acquire Italian an passport? Is it best to get ID card first?
Hello my grandfather was a resident of Corsica when it was a vassal of the Republic of Genoa but was press ganged by the Royal Navy to fight Napoleon can I claim Italian citizenship?
Once I'm Recognized as an Italian Citizen through My Great Grandparents and from them down to My Parents are all Deceased, later on if Any of My other Family Members want to also be Recognized a few years later. Would they have to also start at the Great Grandparents like I did or would they have to start from one of My Parents?
Those who reside in the same consulate jurisdiction as you can apply referencing your case for common documents. Those living in different consulate jurisdictions have to supply full documentation back to the last Italian ancestor born in Italy.
The non-Italian spouse (if you have a spouse) needs to learn how to speak Italian at an intermediate level if you intend to live in Italy. Intermediate level is not that easy.
True. I'm the "non Italian" spouse. My wife and kids will get the citizenship, the only thing I get is to pay for it all. I have to study and take the test to get citizenship.

My family and I just got news from our local consulate that we have our citizenship! we have our passport appoinments in a few months. I'm so excited.
I just got the news last week. Marco and his team get it done.
Good for you!
What a great point Mr. Marco makes the passaport is the one that will expire not the citizenship thanx!

You will need a Codice FIscale to purchase anything of value in Italy, including furniture and appliances.
Can you please tell me the name of the “blue card” ID code you mentioned. Thanks!
That would be a "Tessera Sanitaria"
