I’m always a DIY guy but I didn’t want to risk this one or put in all those hours. Currently working with Marco’s team to obtain my citizenship thanks to your previous videos. Painless process so far and great communication. So excited! Thanks for making all of these videos.
Thank you so much, Rafael and Marco, for the great information! My family and I are about to file our case for Italian citizenship through an Italian law firm (we have a 1948 case, so we have no choice but to go through the courts). If I had discovered these podcasts earlier, I would have consulted ICA for the process, but at this point we're already committed to our current law firm. But I was very relieved to hear Marco's assessment of what to look for when evaluating a law firm. Once again, many thanks to both of you!
@@tpfmike1976 After waiting 2 years, our case was rejected. There are apparently 2 judges with a reputation for ruling against families like ours. They are Elisabetta Ferrari and Francesco Crisafulli, and the specific issue is when a child is born to an American father and Italian mother in a jus sanguinis country (such as the U.S.), but the mother naturalizes while the child is still a minor. Apparently, from what I can tell from the Google translation of her ruling, Ferrari thinks that my mother should have renounced her US citizenship and claimed her Italian citizenship when she turned 21 (of course, Judge Ferrari ignores that such a thing was not possible when my mother turned 21). In short, we just filed our appeal, but we do not yet have an appeal hearing date. I don't expect to get a hearing for 3 years or so, and even then there is no guarantee that we will win, so I am proceeding with my Plan-B, which involves moving to Portugal on a D-7 visa and naturalizing there after 5 years of residence.
@@SangheiliSpecOp Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. FYI, we have our final appeal hearing scheduled for November 2024 (yes -- a year and a half from now!). At this point I really don't know what to expect or what our chances of success are so I'm looking at alternative ways of getting a second passport.
This is a very insightful and helpful video. To have a professional like Marco and his team to find the missing pieces of the citizenship application process jig-saw must be a great time and stress saver. Thanks for sharing Rafael. New subscriber here.
My line of Descent is from My Great Grandparents from a small town Greci. The Family line goes back 6 more Generations who were All from that same town. Both My Great Grandparents moved to the US and were Married in 1900 in New York. My Grandfather was born in 1902 in New Jersey. In 1906 My Great Grandfather was Naturalized and My Great Grandmother and My Grandfather were Automatically added to the Naturalization without their Consent. Due to this, I am eligible for a 1948 Case. I have been trying to Obtain as many Records on My own before using Italian Citizenship Assistance. I had found that the Birth Record for My Great Grandmother who was Born in 1876 is Obtainable which I was told the Town would send Her Birth Record to Me by Mail. I was also told that My Great Grandfather who was Born in 1870 were destroyed. Due to this, I will Need the Assistance with Gathering the Correct Documentation in order to prove My Unbroken Line of Decent. Also, there's other Documents that Italian Citizenship Assistance Attorneys will be able to take care of since it Will be too difficult for Me. This is just a quick post about part of what My Case is and just 1 part of Many that Italian Citizenship Assistance will take over from where I left off. I have spoken with Marco and a few other Attorneys to Help to clarify some things so I can get More done before handing My Case over to them. Marco, Thank You for All of the Pre Case Help that You and Your Attorneys have Helped with. I'm going to getting ready after a few more acquisitions of Documents to Official Start with My 1948 Case.
Same here but I am extremely worried. I am in Canada and their services are limited here. Plus our dollar is doing so bad that it's going to cost me an additional $8000 almost. 😔 I will do it though!! Also worried that Italy will leave EU.

Did you end up getting it all done?
Thank You Rafael DiFuria and Marco Permunian.

Could you do a video on the 1912 rule? I am seeing conflicting information about it online.
