    At last I’ve found a video that explains how to use the different functions on this electric car, for someone who is purchasing his first electric car it’s a totally new learning curve after driving a conventional car for over 50 year. So thanks for a very informative video.

    Can someone reduce the annoying background music and make what is being said more legible

    The background music is too loud.
    It is hard to hear all what she say.
    She speaks a little indistinctly, and when english is not my native language, I struggle to her what she saying.

    Very disappointed having placed an order and paid a deposit last February for the launch edition and now being told we can't have it. Don't let your dealers take orders for vehicles you can't supply.

      Sounds like you should get your money back and get a proper car. Can I suggest diesel, it’s much better for the environment than the mining involved with the battery.

    Can disconnect charger even not fully charged?how?

  • @madonemt
    @madonemt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So you can set the charging start time but not stopping time? What's the point in that? Most popular time of use tarrif is octopus go which gives you 4 hrs overnight. Start of the charge will be cheap but the remainder won't be. Nissan had a full timer in their leaf 10 years ago.

    • @italianstallion701
      @italianstallion701 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most home charging is 7kwh, you’d do most of your charging within that time slot, plus a few pennies difference if you go over the time slot still charging.

    • @madonemt
      @madonemt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@italianstallion701 you are assuming a home charger that not everyone wants to pay for. If you have one of those then most have timers anyway. I myself cannot get a grant so use a granny cable. For the sake of adding a stop timer (something even the old leaf had) why eliminate some of your market? We would have bought it if not for the timer issue. Even overlooking the contempt for right hand drive drivers with the terrible glovebox. Make that 2 glaring oversights without making much effort.

    It would have been useful to be able to set a charge finish timer for people like me who intend to charge when the off peak rates come into effect. Also is there a recommendation as to how much to charge the battery ? This is a controversial and much debated topic with some schools of thought saying not to charge beyond 80% regularly. Has Vauxhall got an official recommendation ? Thank you.

    • @seanmullan8203
      @seanmullan8203 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The charger will not over charge your car. It stops automatically when car is fully charged. And keeps the charge in the batteries.

    • @sri-soma
      @sri-soma 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seanmullan8203 Thank you very much indeed. I did gather that and have had a Leaf for the past 4 years before changing to the current car. My only concern was going into the peak rates should the car not be charged by the time the off peak times end. For me personally it's perhaps a moot point now as I've already made the switch to a different car. I appreciate your input though. Thank you.

    @1:08 is there no way that we can have an electric car that's manual?
    Surely there's some way you can implement software to emulate a manual right? I know that might be expensive but I do prefer manuals...

      You can gear electric motors and it is possible to have a manual electric car. There is just no reason to do so in a road car. Don't think of electric cars as automatic,they have no gear box in that sense. The accelerator pedal controls the amount of voltage going to the motor,the more voltage the faster the motor spins.

    Ugly and completely impractical. My diesel is vastly superior as it’s tried and tested and only takes five minutes to fill up. I recently drove 800 miles in two days, you couldn’t do that in one of these absurd cars… 201 mile range… which proves that the car is completely useless.
