most of the videos i saw did not play this song that well but you Marek Pavelec played this song in a amazing way and i downloaded this video and i watch it every day
I've been playing violin for years....than I got in a crash which in result damaged my spine....now I have issues playing though I still do. Incredible playing by the way
By far the most exciting performance of this piece I've ever seen. Not simply because the string break, but just the emotion and vigor that you put into the playing of the instrument is simply amazing.
No one should have the chutzpah to berate Marek, this guy oozes talent and maturity as both a musician AND a technician! It takes great courage and quick thinking to make the decision to ask the concert master for his violin after breaking (the highly unlikely purposely broken) string. For the non-violinists out there, strings are NOT cheap, and playing a violin other than one's own is like bowling with someone else's bowling ball: not easy. Incredible job, Marek!!
I've broken a few E-Strings playing the opening of the first movement when I was younger (never in perforamnce) some don't take a lot of pressure but it looked and sounded like he caught the string on the metal part at the frog, that would be shocking! I thought he handled the situation well.
This is definitely my favorite movement from this concerto. It really reminds me of Spain :) I don't understand why everyone just plays the first movement...
Major props to Marek Pavelec. I'm currently working on this movement myself and its no joke. The string break was a crappy thing to happen but props for getting back on it. Good job.
Wow. The concert master's violin is fabulous. So warm on the G string and so sensuous on the A and E. And so responsive to the spiccato. Compare the trill and left hand pizzicato of the A string before and after the swap. The difference is day and night.
Excellent performance you did a great job recovering! I've never broken a string during a solo just in orchestra performances (I probably just jinxed myself). Was it the concert masters violin you had after the string broke?
Awesome concentration! No time to adjust the shoulder rest...was the thing in tune?...too much rosin on the strings?....not enough?...geez. Why was he like looking around for a fiddle din't the concert master should have just handed him his. Or did he?
If this happens during a double bass concerto you're really screwed. Unless someone has an extra bass in solo tuning lying around somewhere, you either have to stop, or the soloist/entire orchestra has to transpose a note up or down.
all in good time, hes 12. I dont think you'd be ripping that concerto off when you were that age.. anyways Ive played this with a very established and experienced violin player and he used the same styling and it wasn't smooth i dont think that the piece was intended to be that way.
This is awesome! Your trills could be a little more consistent but your technique is polished! My boyfriend is playing this in a concert and, after seeing this video, is paranoid that it'll happen to him.
ok, I know I'm probably going to get a lot of negative feedback from this but I just can't help myself so here it goes: he could reeeaaalllly use a haircut : )
Marek Pavelec, I never tired of listening to this concert with your majestic interpretation.
amazing Marek Pavelec!!!!! by playing wonderful and your reflexes to follow the concert with an unknown instrument
The best 5th mov!

i love how right before you popped your string, you were really into the music, and when it popped you freaked out xD haha
Omg to play this that well on someone else's violin?!?! dude got some balls

BRAVISSIMO

how are there empty seats!
Bravo maestro! The look on your face when your E-string broke is something I will cherish forever.
great sound, great precision....and your reflexes on the violin change it's amazing! Compliments!
world class violinist none complane from me. bravo you get a genius sound.
it was so funny- the expression on your face was one of complete surprise!!!! That was awesome when you broke your string!!!!
This is definitely my favorite movement from this concerto. It really reminds me of Spain :) I don't understand why everyone just plays the first movement...
Because people think it’s flashy with the opening
Personally my favorite is the 5th movement, and the 1st movement is my second favorite
If you didn’t know, Espagnole is Spanish in French.
This is great! Nice recovery!
AMAZING!!
hahaha he got barraged with gifts at the end.
Major props to Marek Pavelec. I'm currently working on this movement myself and its no joke. The string break was a crappy thing to happen but props for getting back on it. Good job.

This guy is very lucky! If the E string broke 1 sec earlier, hes screwed
Excellent performance you did a great job recovering! I've never broken a string during a solo just in orchestra performances (I probably just jinxed myself). Was it the concert masters violin you had after the string broke?
incredible
awesome. good luck in your career!!
excelent!
Well, I am dazzled!
thats really awesome, if i was in your place, may be i was completely paralized in still in shock. besides that accident you are still amazing.
That is some sick sound! Sorry about the string break, but you still did really well after that.
How old were you when you performed this?
really good...
I wonder what did the guy he took the violin from do?...
You broke a string. Pro.
what did you do to your violin!? good thinking grabbing someone else's. great performance even with having to play someone else's instrument!
Awesome concentration! No time to adjust the shoulder rest...was the thing in tune?...too much rosin on the strings?....not enough?...geez. Why was he like looking around for a fiddle din't the concert master should have just handed him his. Or did he?
Ive seen that before is it normal for someone to give the dolo violinist a flower?
It usually is when the performer is told beforehand or has some great friends
хорошо!!!!!!!!!
hardcore classic....

@Blakeasdf
lol does that dude look 12 to you??
At least it was the last movement

well actually i think he popped his e string more because of the part he was at so it didn't happen before but that's just my stupid opinion
no you're right xD
but he plays very well
그냥 랄로꺼라 그래서 그냥 들어본다 불만읍재!

Lol who ru
Solo
It would have been awesome if he just kept going on without the e string.
MORE TONE ON THE SLOW SECTION. It was just too quiet.
Careful not to rest your palm on the instrument when shifting. :)
ok, I know I'm probably going to get a lot of negative feedback from this but I just can't help myself so here it goes: he could reeeaaalllly use a haircut : )
