I don't know too much about the arms industry, I would look into what the arms companies/military wants from an engineer and then try to build your skills based on what their websites or job postings say
Year late but yes. Semiconductors and transistors are apart of electronic engineering and considering mechatronics is the combination of mechanical and electronic engineering, you'd definitely need to know it.
