    As a proud owner of this kit and by this kit, I don’t mean “this” kit, I mean this kit that I ordered through DCP, I can’t say enough great things about it. This kit sounds amazing and is surprisingly comfortable to play. Plus, Shane and his crew are incredible to work with!
    Great job on the vid Shane!! And thanks again for the Sneak Peak!!!
    Cheers all!

    It's that "round" tone that great instruments have. Whether guitar, violin, drums etc....That roundness translates throughout dynamic levels and notes "bloom" off the instrument. And you never really know what that's like until you play an instrument that has that quality.

    You also have the option, with a kit like that, to have multiple setups depending on what type of band you are playing with. At least two different kits and take your kick and snare with you. Home set. Practice set. ??? Unlimited.

    Shane so perfectly summed himself up. "IF I play very very quietly" vs "WHEN I hit it very hard" In seriousness, it doesn't seem like you can make it sound bad.

    The piano reference was perfect because as soon as the drums started to be played, the word that popped in my head was how "melodic" they sounded. And that snare cut like glass. Hard to believe it was only 5.5 deep. Amazing sounding drums.

    I'm stunned at the fundamental deep note of that 8" tom. I thought the 8" was actually a 10", till he told us the sizes. I love that, because, (as a side note) it opens up the ergonomics if you can get small drums to sound that deep. That kit sounds absolutely beautiful. I'll never be able to afford a set, of those... I'll have to settle for an MCT (which is a GREAT sounding maple kit). It's fun to listen to these guys do a solid demo of these, given they're the only channel I know of that's doing thorough demo's of high-end kits. That never get's old. Well done guys! P.S. I completely agree on those Artisan cymbals. 👍

    This kit is like a work of art, you could look at it (and play it) all day. Beautiful. Love the 6” tom, I thought only Nicko McBrain was the only drummer to use this size now?

    • @brettsenzer5902
      @brettsenzer5902 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6” Tom’s aren’t in mass production because they are the most impractical drum size. Don’t get me wrong though. I’m a prog drummer and want one but they are hard to find because not enough people want them so it’s not worth the money to mass produce them. Especially when concert toms and rocket toms/octobons are options
      Mike Mangini also used a 6 inch tom and plays Pearl

    You my drumming brother, are a phenomenal drummer, having proved it time and again!!! Just look at the "DCP drum sales" promo videos you have made already!!!!! Yes sirree!!! A GORGEOUS DRUM SET INDEED, AND "furniture" quality it is!!! The "STIENWAY" of drum sets for sure, but here's the thing... in fact, that is all it is, a drum set!!! And while it is beautiful, nothing you can't handle...... SO, C'MON... JUST PLAY AWAY DUDE!!!! Pearl MW's & Sabian HHX's, a grandslam homerun, and your the batter to knock it outta the park!!!!!!!
    ANYWAY, KEEP ON KEEPING ON BROTHER DRUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🏼

      Trolls prob have everyone a bit on edge these days. Way of the world I guess. Solid drummers doing solid demos here. But if it’s not a virtuoso performance they’ll have something to say despite the fact that the point of this is to simply demo the tone of drums.

    • @TheRealBKSchyster
      @TheRealBKSchyster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@larrytate1657 And demoing quite nicely at that!!! A hiccup or two... NO BIG DEAL!!! Although, You're right about "Trevor The Fremont Troll(s") giving one of the "Billy Goat Gruff(s") some shite about the demo, and the "professional nature" of skill shown... NO WORRIES Lad, b'cuz I still say Well done you, to any man who sits behind not only the drum kit for demo purposes, but the cameras too!! It can be a bit overwhelming at times, I have been playing for the better part of fifty plus years, and I still get butterflies and a bit of anxiety when playing, especially in front of huge crowds of concert goers, or new faces in studio!! But Larry, the very words I said to Shane, I say to meself, "just play, and lay it out there!!" The hours of every practice session, the real blood ( spotted left pant leg,) sweat ( wristbands ) and aching body all come together as one... ANDDDD, then it is so. Done, finally, and we made it through, to drum another day!!!
      Although, I can't imagine what the anxiety of the "Trevor trolls" cause, my performances are almost completely "live" for many, or in front of small groups of people in "studio," but either way, I generally don't hear their harsh comments!! Ok.... in studio, every once in a while a smart arse producer or engineer may say something when I have an "off day" or until the human "machine" in me kicks in... AND THEN... I throw down the traditional grip and my best "Moller technique" at them on EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF THE DRUM SET, while doing my best Buddy Rich moves... that generally shuts them up, and yet I can still see their faces while still having to work with them!!! Demoing drums, or a Theremin while being captured on video to be watched time and again, and their ability as "Trolls" to hide behind the internet, certainly makes it easier for them to do that!!! F'em... just keep on being you... that's the important thing, to hell with them!!!!!
      BECAUSE EITHER WAY, YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!!!! 🤘🏼

    Pearl Masters Custom (Early 2000s) & birch (Late 1990s): Love the sensitivity & unique tonal ring; reckon they lack depth though not a sore point comparative to precise quality sound with the perfect dampened sustain (may be my ears or iPhone!). My preference was the older mahogany masters or DW Collectors, neither available at the time (little Australia!). Cheers for the ex vid.
    P.S. Artisans are superb, my choice is 1990s K Customs. Thanks guys. 😺🥁

    It was insane I had money in hand ready to spend and nobody wanted to help me. I managed to piece meal my stuff in to place and I do like it. I just wonder if I would have made different decisions if I had some help figuring out what all I needed to create my vision. The drum buying process was a nightmare.

      I also am interested in this as a recording engineer myself. The Earthworks mics sound incredibly natural and realistic. Your audio actually comes out better on TH-cam than most pro studio stuff. I’d love to see a video of how you do your eq and dynamics processing. Very tasteful and professional. A+++

    Love the thick bass drum sound. Sounds like you used low tuning on this kit. I would like to hear this kit tuned up higher with some clear heads. Thanks for your great videos!

    They look amazing. Sound amazing. To me, its t room mics that really shows t diff on t sound quality of a kit. Question...how long does it take u guys to do a complete set-up, including mics, with a kit like this? Love your vids. If I ever get back to t US, I'm def coming to visit u guys. Thanks 🍻✌️🇦🇺

      I think this took about 12 hours to unbox, set up, tune and mic up in total. But, we're also doing a hundred other things while running the shop, so it's about 3-4 days, realtime.
      Thanks for watching, hope you can make the trip someday!

      @@woody4269 yeah it takes a while, with a kit like this there is so much to get right. I won’t even get started on how I time aligned the tom mics to the overheads while mixing…

    Excellent demo of this kit. Do you find it better to use those DM-20’s on a mic stand or was that just for this particular kit?

    Interesting sound. I have mostly played Pearls for years, so it's familiar in a way, but the gum changes it... mellows and rounds it out. I would have chosen a more traditional 8, 10, 12, 13, 16, 18, 22 in maple, bit it's nice.

    Very nice kit indeed. Sounds nicer with the snares turned off. I wish there was a way to remove all sympathetic buzz while still having an articulate snare playability.
