Well yeah this video has some bigger sizes which is awesome but it’s a limited range. Like I wish we could get more of them as a standard. I appreciate you guys having more options, you’re the outlier.
A big THANK YOU to the entire team at DCP - we truly appreciate your support with our Wuhan Cymbal and Attack Drumheads brands 🙏🏻❤️ We are blessed to have you as one of our retailers. Also thank you very much to our fellow drummers for the kind words.
Dude, I’m saying. 15/18/20/23 for a grand? I have no reason to buy this, I already have a million cymbals, but it’s such a good deal I just might grab it
Was going to write something negative, but then heard the Zildjian A Sweet kit. That’s just an awesome deal for the price. Great sound, B20 bronze, good resale value if you outgrow them. For my son I shopped around 2nd hand and got him a Zildjan K outfit for well below 1K.
Many people mistakenly assume b20 is inherently better than the other alloys. it's simply not true. it all comes down to the craftsmanship. the more you know.
Every time I hear a meinl dark cymbal played by itself I think "that's okay, I guess", but in a full band setting find they sound far better than my initial impression. That is an insanely good value.
Zildjian A sweet set up. Fantastic value especially for the working drummer.Played A series for 25 years of bars, weddings, and outdoor festivals, never let me down.Beautiful sounding cymbals.
Istanbul Agop Xist got me started out! I will always have love for that series. I didn't buy a pack but the 17" crash with the 21" ride were a great pair. Excellent hi hats too. The wuhans were surprisingly good. These were all great sets of cymbals.
The Zildjian A's are my go-to cymbal pack, although I prefer 14" New Beats over 15." You won't feel the need to upgrade if you buy this pack. The only thing you may eventually want to do is add a few more sizes in the A-series to the mix.
Thank you DCP for another great video. Zildjians were my favorite. Best value, in my humble opinion, too--you don't have to later replace any "not quite up to par" cymbal in the pack, i.e., all cymbals in the pack are worthy of the rest. ✌️
I just bought the 15 hats with the 18 and 20 crash and 23 inch ride .Totally blown away with the set up too especially after I gave up on that line years ago.The 23 ride sound s killer so do the hats and crashes .Very well rounded
Same. I’m also partial to bigger cymbals. I had the A’s, but they were smaller sizes (14” HH, 16” & 18” crashes & 20” ride) & I never liked the 16” crash & would almost never hit it. These sizes would’ve would’ve been much nicer.
4:26 is funny to me bc I actually started using that ride as a crash after getting a heavier ride, but to be fair it’s VERY loud and doesn’t get used often because of that. Nice lower pitched tone that comes in handy sometimes though.
The first ride I ever bought was the AAX Raw Bell Dry Ride, and the AAX X-Plosion crashes work really well with that ride. Really nice to see these in a pack together!! 14, 18, 20 and 21 are great sizes.
Loved my AAX pack and pretty much used it for all gigs and touring. Good quality and not so expensive that I'd cry if they were damaged or stolen. I did get lured away from Sabian though after hearing the Benny Greb Sand ride and I picked up the Sand Cymbal Pack. Really awesome sounding pack for the price.
I like the zildjians overall the best. But the Wuhan 21 ride sounded good as did the 20 aax crash. I had one of those with the drum set I gave to my nephew. Still remember that sound.
Lol the intro! Good stuff! Great video as always, I own the Zildjian pack and it is worth every cent, I think all of these are great actually, great time for drummers and bargain's
I am a Zildjian guy, but the Wuhans sounded so nice! They always surprise us with value for the money and killer quality. If you are not stuck on brand names, I would buy that set and spend the extra money you save on a nice drum throne. Too many drummers overlook their throne and I've sat in on some kits with some doozies! Drummers always comment on mine, and I tell them it's literally a Tama 1st Chair round top throne I bought for $99 bucks years ago. Best bang for the buck! I don't think the price on those has gone up too much on those. A nice set of Wuhans, a plush comfy new Tama throne and you're set with your set! Heh..
To be fair the value offered here is exceptional, regardless of preference. My taste pushes me towards the Zildjian pack, but the Sabian pack is every bit as awesome. For any drummer starting out these days / looking for a wholesale upgrade to move from 'beginner' to better cymbals, a pack is the only way to go when considering the cost of buying them individually. Also, modern quality control is such that there are very few lemons out there now, so getting a sealed box pack isn't risky. In the 80's when I started playing, it was the other way around!
I’ve got the Meinl Darks in 16”HH, 16” & 18” Thin Dark Crashes, 22” dark ride, they’ve got a great warm-butter kind of sound if that makes any sense. Not a pre bundled kit but can be had for under $1K
AAX X-plosion. Bought them a couple of years ago and they are great. I like the x-plosion ride more though. I thought that was the gem of the pack I bought.
My opinion is, that when You haven't got enough many to buy professional cymbals, choose Meinl classic custom dark set. They are pretty good relatively to the price.
Whoa, the Wuhan Kois made my ears perk up immediately, especially the 22" ride. Color me curious . . . and pleasantly surprised. EDIT: Damn, the Zildjian A Sweets sound great too! Why do I torture myself watching these videos?! 😆
Yeah ... Inflation and exchange rates are kicking hard ... A year ago you could have included a basic 14/18/20 Meinl Byzance Benny Greb Set in this .. but now the set is well over a thousand $. But overall those pre packed Sets are an excellent way to start a new gigable cymbal collection.
Hmm.. I think all these packs have some unique tones and sounds.. I've recently gotten into the Wuhan camp after being a Zildjian guy for many years, and I have a mix of the Western Series and KOI line right now that I love, especially for the money paid for said cymbals. With that said, I think the Sabians sounded the best overall, and followed very closely by the Wuhans (they just have a nice tone to them that's very unique, and that I like now) and then the Zildjians, and then the Istanbul set, and last the Meinl set to my ears. I think the Meinl set looks the most unique though.
honestly I just go with the minals Sound great best price and you can buy yourself China and a splash still be under the rest of them. I am kinda biased cause that's what I have I love 'em
Cracking vid gentlemen. Thank u!! T Istanbul ride is amazing. T zillies r t best buy. But for me, those Wuhan were t bees knees. I'd pay a bit more for them if they included an 18in china. Wuhan always surprises. Cheers to u all🍻. Edit..could've sworn we were looking down on Todd playing??
I had a very lucky in 2019 when i bought a very nice Bosphorus Turk Series set with a 20 ride, 18 and 16 crashes, 14 hihats more a 10 splash and a bag by 700 euros in Germany.
Even at a higher price point I think that cymbal packs are a great value and an "easier" way to buy cymbals. All the cymbals here sounded great with my favorite being the Zildjian by far.
I have an AAX Xplosion fast crash that i mix in with my K setup sometimes and it blends just fine, great series. What can you say about an A sweet set at that price with 15 inch hats, classic versatile sounds. Meinl a little more niche and im intrigued by the Wuhans, but if youre an experienced gigger, you're probably going Sabian or Zildjian.
Those Wuhan Koi's are pretty nice. I think they'd work great for Post-Rock or Stoner/Sludge stuff that works well with big washy sounds. I wonder why Zildjian doesn't bring back the A Sweet Hats? I have an old 15" pair of them and while they sound awesome, I'm not a fan of how "heavy" 15" hats feel compared to 14".
Excellent video as usual, though it would have been awesome to include the different alloy percentages as well. I know the Meinl Classics is B10 and both the AAX and A´s are B20. The rest, i (still) don´t know.
I would love to see you guys try out Zultan cymbals. They are really affordable and sound great for tgeir price. Though it will probably be expensive to import them to The US because it's Thomanns own brand and the taxes a bit overwhelming with importing them from EU. But the caz, cs, aja and aeon series sounds extremely good especially the aeon 19" thin crash that has this great washy sound. Aeon is their most expensive cymbals and the starter pack is $700.
The Zildjians and Sabians are easily the best, but if you can't afford to pay close to $1000 I think the Istanbuls are quite alright as well. The Meinl's sound way too trashy and limited in scope and tonal range to me. And to my ear the ride was not loud enough, strangely. The Wuhans sound good, but different. There's certainly still some aspects of a China cymbal in each of those even though the shape is "Turkish style".
I bought a Sabian AAX Explosion cymbal set in around 2014 for about $500-600, but smaller sizes than seen here. I'm guessing you're going to see a😂 price increase like this in over a decade
The Zildjians win in this group. The Wuhans sounded surprisingly good. But the Meinl Classics...lets just say, they were not my favorite. And I love Meinl! B10 just sounds cheap. They're the kind of cymbals my parents would have bought me when I was 12, and couldn't buy my own. I guess I would have been happy as a 12-year old, though, because they look pretty cool.
The prices are insane with relation to cymbals.....I have to have a large arsenal of cymbals so I have options when it comes to recording.......Max.....hope to see you soon Bro...HAHA
I’m a fan of cymbal packs, but I wish we weren’t always limited to the old 14”, 16”, 20”, and the “bonus” 18” crash sizes.
I mean, 3 out of 5 are bigger in this video
I concur. It was really nice to see some size variation in the cymbal packs they demonstrated.
This is why the two packs that are exclusive to us in this video are not those sizes.
Well yeah this video has some bigger sizes which is awesome but it’s a limited range. Like I wish we could get more of them as a standard. I appreciate you guys having more options, you’re the outlier.
My Istanbul xist set is 15 17 19 21, I love it. And it cost me 600 quid
That AAX set is a screaming deal and they sound amazing, perfect for the rock and metal drummer looking to step up their cymbal game.
That Wuhan set is amazing
A big THANK YOU to the entire team at DCP - we truly appreciate your support with our Wuhan Cymbal and Attack Drumheads brands 🙏🏻❤️
We are blessed to have you as one of our retailers. Also thank you very much to our fellow drummers for the kind words.
❤️🤘👊
LOL When I had a life! The AAX and Zildijian's are head to head in my opinion. Both sets are miraculous in their own genre.
Great content all!
That Zildjian A pack y'all have is a wildly good deal. Holy sheeto.
Dude, I’m saying. 15/18/20/23 for a grand? I have no reason to buy this, I already have a million cymbals, but it’s such a good deal I just might grab it

Wuhan Koi's did it for me--great sounds!
Istanbul Agop Xist got me started out! I will always have love for that series. I didn't buy a pack but the 17" crash with the 21" ride were a great pair. Excellent hi hats too. The wuhans were surprisingly good. These were all great sets of cymbals.

zildjian a sweets are the best sounding cymbals by far but the istanbul agop xists are perfect for their value.
Thank you DCP for another great video. Zildjians were my favorite. Best value, in my humble opinion, too--you don't have to later replace any "not quite up to par" cymbal in the pack, i.e., all cymbals in the pack are worthy of the rest. ✌️

I personally think the Wuhans are tied with Zildjian and Sabian as the best.
Same. I’m also partial to bigger cymbals. I had the A’s, but they were smaller sizes (14” HH, 16” & 18” crashes & 20” ride) & I never liked the 16” crash & would almost never hit it. These sizes would’ve would’ve been much nicer.
Yep, Wuhan r t sleepers. Sounded grt.
4:26 is funny to me bc I actually started using that ride as a crash after getting a heavier ride, but to be fair it’s VERY loud and doesn’t get used often because of that. Nice lower pitched tone that comes in handy sometimes though.

Hat > Meinl , Zildjian
Crash > Zildjian
Ride > Wuhan
❤❤❤
I like the zildjians overall the best. But the Wuhan 21 ride sounded good as did the 20 aax crash.
I had one of those with the drum set I gave to my nephew. Still remember that sound.
What an intro, instantly hooked!
Glad we got your attention!
great vid. thanks again for the help in the chat with the receipt! cheers from Estonia
Lol the intro! Good stuff! Great video as always,
I own the Zildjian pack and it is worth every cent, I think all of these are great actually, great time for drummers and bargain's
I am a Zildjian guy, but the Wuhans sounded so nice! They always surprise us with value for the money and killer quality. The Meinl custom classic darks are amazing!
Great review and comparison as always. The playing and humour was on point too. The Sabian set sounded best to me
To be fair the value offered here is exceptional, regardless of preference. My taste pushes me towards the Zildjian pack, but the Sabian pack is every bit as awesome.

Zildjian all the way, especially with the 23" sweet ride and 15" new beat hats !!!!
In 2023 I bought new Meinl CC Dark pack(14, 16, 18, 20) for 560$. Great cymbals
I like the Zildjian's best over all but the AAX's sound really good as well, different, and Koi's get my vote for most unique sounding.
Actually really liked the meinl set
Great deals on a complete pack. Thanks!
thanks for watching!
I’ve got the Meinl Darks in 16”HH, 16” & 18” Thin Dark Crashes, 22” dark ride, they’ve got a great warm-butter kind of sound if that makes any sense. Not a pre bundled kit but can be had for under $1K
Love the RLM intro :)
That's right Jay!
the AAX reminds me of the zildjian A's they play like old med thins. crisp clean wash, nice crystal midrange. Sabian nails it with the AAX & HHX line
Love this! You guys are awesome!
Thanks so much!
@drumcenternh I hurt my arm aabout a month ago. Can't play. So this is filling a void!
Those wuhan sound amazing!
AAX and the Sweet kit sound great!
Agreed, those are both killer packs.
Zildjian pack is really nice . Great deal and great sizes
Gotta be the Sabian AAX. They sound the fullest and most lively to me.
I really liked the Wuhan cymbals.
That Zildjian pack is the winner! Wuhan Koi not far behind!
Love my Wuhan Koi splashes
Wuhan Koi completely blue everything away with its musicality and versatility. Plus 15" hihats are ideal IMO.
That sweet pack is perfect 🤘
Whoa, the Wuhan Kois made my ears perk up immediately, especially the 22" ride. Color me curious . . . and pleasantly surprised.
EDIT: Damn, the Zildjian A Sweets sound great too! Why do I torture myself watching these videos?! 😆
AAX of course
I wish all drum shops could do comparisons at the level DCP does
They will have to catch up...
I'm a Paiste player, but , the Zildjian set sounded really great !
That intro 🤣🤣🤣 spat out my coffee!
Zildjian New Beat hats are the best.
Wuhan Koi ALL DAY
Yeah ...
Inflation and exchange rates are kicking hard ...

AAX, IMHO.
Great value cymbals I agree
These PDP Concept's sound great!
honestly I just go with the minals Sound great best price and you can buy yourself China and a splash still be under the rest of them. I am kinda biased cause that's what I have I love 'em

Close, it was me, Tony
@@tinterlande dammit...meant to write Tony. I usually proof read too. Sorry Tony 🍻
As someone searching for a reasonable 16' crash that isn't $400+, I feel very seen by this video. Nice stunt work!
Zildjian A, Sabian AAX.
I had a very lucky in 2019 when i bought a very nice Bosphorus Turk Series set with a 20 ride, 18 and 16 crashes, 14 hihats more a 10 splash and a bag by 700 euros in Germany.
I bought the Meta cymbal pack by Turkish and think it is fantastic (except the hihats are too thick).
Zildjian and Sabian neck to neck. And the snare is sick.
ZILDJIAN A SWEET 👏👏👏👏👏
Even at a higher price point I think that cymbal packs are a great value and an "easier" way to buy cymbals. All the cymbals here sounded great with my favorite being the Zildjian by far.

Great video the Zildjian sound great thanks again..👋
Surprised the Istanbul sounded great. The Sabian sounded good. My favorite was the Zielian pack. Has some good sizes and sounds great.
The Zildjian set and Istanbul set were my favorite but gotta give props to the Wuhan set too. The Istanbul set needs an 18” crash to make it perfect.
I bought the zildjian k sweet pack and i love it.
Those Koi's remind me of Zildjian K's. I wonder if "Koi" was a subtle shot at "K"? Also, y u no Paiste in this roundup?
Those Wuhan Koi's are pretty nice. I think they'd work great for Post-Rock or Stoner/Sludge stuff that works well with big washy sounds.
I wonder why Zildjian doesn't bring back the A Sweet Hats? I have an old 15" pair of them and while they sound awesome, I'm not a fan of how "heavy" 15" hats feel compared to 14".
K Sweet, and I am a Sabian guy.
The zildjian set is by far the nostalgic versatile and even sounding. Which is odd as I have been a Sabian player for 20 years. lol
zildjian A sound good to me and good value !!!!
Screaming for Sabian AAX pack !!!
that opening piano riff is in every video of this huge youtube cooking channel FoodWishes
Excellent video as usual, though it would have been awesome to include the different alloy percentages as well. I know the Meinl Classics is B10 and both the AAX and A´s are B20. The rest, i (still) don´t know.

I remember back in 2017 this packs were under the $700, damn how time changes
I was very surprised by the wuhans
Started this video and thought you were gonna teach me a new recipe
The Wuhan hihats 🔥
Hey guys. Wish you had threw in the Turkish Meta cymbal pack. Those things sound great!!
I like the sweet cymbal set
Wuhan for me even if they look weird
The Zildjians and Sabians are easily the best, but if you can't afford to pay close to $1000 I think the Istanbuls are quite alright as well. The Meinl's sound way too trashy and limited in scope and tonal range to me. And to my ear the ride was not loud enough, strangely. The Wuhans sound good, but different. The Sabian is the best in terms of size and value. You can probably get them even cheaper with the Black Friday sale coming up too
All sounded good but I’m just a sucker for zildjian. That’s been my sound for almost 30 years.
I guess I would have been happy as a 12-year old, though, because they look pretty cool.

koi all day!
Wuhan koi is criminally underrated. The bell ride is clear and piercing, the 18 crash is great. The 20 not a big fan.
Bro that Wuhan Ride sound like glory
