The most impressive was the music. Even now, talking to people knowing the game they're not sure anymore how the story went. But they all know the music!
So I think it's important to name the composer, since he was one of the first to compose real music for video games. (After the beeps and bleeps we did hear up to then.)
I like to raise my glas to Stéphane Picq! 🍷👍

yea the best thing was the music. The second best thing was the name of the BBEG: MORKUS REX (And i still remember that name, And the voice, from my childhood. So yea)

Hello! Maybe you'll like the Remaster, now available for download on BandCamp in 96/24 Hi-res Audio Digital Album, with five bonus tracks!
Thanks to the modern tools available in 2024, enlarged stereo field, clearer sounds and punchy dynamics, expanded spectrum with crispy high-pitched and mellow basses, makes the sound really better in comparison to the 1997 version. This version pulls you in a higher sound experience!

Damn! Stephane! Your music stuck with me (and many others) all my life since kid. Lost Eden was one of my first pc games together with discworld and monkey island. You have no idea for how long I've tried to find genres or music that resembles what you did for Lost Eden. Thank you so much.
Will definitely look into the remaster too.

Thr gameplay was not much, but I still remember playing the game especially the music, the atmosphere, and the setting. This game should be remade (or make new one with this as inspiration), but change the genre to probably an RPG. Imagine Mass Effect set in prehistoric age.

I hope not. There is something quite strange going on in the games industry with regards racial and gender ideology and I suspect the game would come out less that what it deserves these days. Let's just appreciate this game as it is: Unique, interesting and enjoyable.

Great reviews! I played this game when I was 10 and also couldn’t understand some of the English and I think at some point I stopped playing it.
The other day I though of it and your video made me want to play it again and finish it this time.
Thanks for the thorough review and details!!

Looks interesting. Mostly like games by Cryo. Just a shame the 3DO version wasn't released in Europe. Bit strange, as the game was made by a French company.
If you like this, you would probably like Atlantis by the same developer.

The visuals and audio are top notch but once you leave The Citadel of Mo, the gameplay loop feels very monotonous.
Also no mention of The King of Mo straight up saying "fucking" in the audio?
