Had a full on hang out session with one duo that just unlocked their skeleton curse that even helped us ferry our loot into the reaper's hide out tent.

I've just been slow to unlock the new cosmetics actually, because I like sinking the burning blade way more than I like sailing it 😅! But my other golden skelly friend got totally converted, he went from full barrel/bucket armor to the obsidian captian drip
These are the good ones, but it leaves out the number of gold skellies/ghosts who took advantage of the exploit last year. There were a tonnnn of them popping up in open crews to preen for quite a bit, and most people I know dropped out of the gold grind since a lot of open crews just assumed every gold skellie/ghost was an exploiter for a bit, which took the prestige out of it for em.
@jkx107 oof, I guess I was blissfully ignorant of this whole side of everything. I always knew there were exploits of some kind, but I generally assumed that the people who did them were few, and that a good amount of them would get bans or wrist slaps of some kind anyways. Either way, dropping out of the grind because it's no longer "prestigious" seems shallow to me, though. You should do something like this because you would be pleased with yourself for accomplishing it, not for the approval of other people. Even if you got it entirely legitimately, you are still going to play badly on some days and have people try to invalidate your achievement. You can't prioritize what other people are going to think. hi, hello, I am with the levels 130-160 category of players. I sink a bit too.. easily sadly. mainly because I tend to panic, and my reaction time + quick thinking tends to go down the drain because of that
@@arathyn8294thank god I’m not the only one. It’s so stupid because it’s a game but it really gets me adrenalized too sometimes especially when I’m on that streak stretch haha!
Correction regarding how to get the higher tier skeletons. While yes, being skilled is the most efficient way to get them. There are 2 others. You have the people that join randomly on open crew and get lucky to join one that’s about to cash a high streak. Or people like myself that join and just wait to be sunk. About 50% of the players in hourglass are most likely arena refugees, and are by far some of the most toxic players in the game. Doing it like this has 2 reasons. 1. It’s honestly just faster to anchor and let them win instead of trying to climb up the ranks via 5-20 minute fights. 2. I’m not giving the satisfaction of a real fight to people that make a random crew’s session unenjoyable by spawn camping the ship as it slowly burns while also shouting slurs at the player that (most likely) just started playing the game. While yes, this is a game about pirates that heavily rewards pvp. There is a point where it’s less about the pvp and more about just being the reason alliance servers exist… or at least why they should exist rather than why they actually do. Apparently most of them exist because crews got sunk once and decided to never do that again in a way that takes away from the game. I get the appeal of pvp. I really do. Hell, I’ve won some pvp myself. But the people that make the game hard to get into in the first place just make it their entire personality. And that’s what I don’t understand. Overall, SoT is a fun game. But man is the pvp locked stuff a pain to get XD
eh i would say that as someone with both ghost and skeleton and i use sword mainly as well as flintlock since i enjoy sword mainly as i dont like double gunning.
I’ve sunk so many pretty damn good gold bones they just forgot that the harpoon is deadly or they get slashed by my sword and many other gold bones I’ve met are horrible like swabbie like and I’m currently level 730
Good stuff, it's always fun to pull off tricks like that. And yea, I generally find that once people get gold they really slow down on how much they play hourglass, unless they are an absolute PvP nut. After I got my bones, I definitely felt like I was being dragged back into matches, and I def wasn't feeling like putting in the effort to try super hard, lol. Guys like you who are well on their way to gold, care a lot more about getting levels, and tend to actually be getting more day to day practice in than people who have already finished the grind, ya know?
This is interesting. Me and my friend are trying to grind out the skelly. Rn I’m level 61 he’s like 47 smthn like that. I feel like I’m improving because we’ll end up beating people who have ghost curse and good naval. But the immediate next round we get humbled by someone not even using a curse, but with exceptional naval and cannons. I’ve noticed my friend improving with his longer cannon shots but I feel like I am not improving. I do more boarding and helm/reapairs. I find it difficult to notice my own improvement. Funny enough whenever we see a skelly curse we get decimated but when it’s a ghost curse it’s a 60/40 chance of winning in our favor. That’s how it feels at least.
Watch out for titles like Noble of the Waters or Lord of the Ashes. These will indicate if a plain pirate is actually hiding a lvl 1,000 curse somewhere...these might be the inconspicuous players "humbling" you guys . @TheDSter could be neat. It would be really cool to have light poking through the ribcage and eye sockets. And yea I'm sure they don't want to add shadow bones because they don't want players to be too hard to see, but the (slightly pay to win) full body stone curse breaks that rule lol. A shame
What filter do you use to make some of your thumbnails into paintings?
@amp_town I just do the image trace command in Adobe illustrator, and adjust the color number to determine how many shapes it breaks the image up into.
Though you can also do something similar in photoshop...there's an oil painting filter I believe, but it's not quite the same.
Tbh I just want to make my skeleton really ugly to piss on anyone who makes it look good. Like yea I grinder for a high value cosmetic, but I’m not going to make it look cool by any means
Lol. What did you have in mind?
Red bones or ashen bones, repaired skull/reaper mask, barrel upper body, and reaper legs.
Now I do think bomb mask, grey coat body, and reaper/weighty legs would be good too cause it conceals the most amount of the body. And to me it’s funny to grind for the curse and then not show off the best parts for it, that being the skull and ribs.
@@theheavysleeper2845 Bottom one sounds kinda cool though! But any sort of colored bone plus the repaired skull looks horrendous, to be sure.
Currently 201 idk if im gona go for verdant the sunken carb arm bucket head looks way better imo than the verdant n wheel built but I do love the pvp grind defo not going for gold I have a life outside of sot lol
So do I! It just takes consistency and the levels will get up there, you don't have to play SoT all day every day to get gold. It's been a year and a half plus of just playing whenever we can, for my mate and I to get gold.
Just gotta be patient and keep at it.
@@arathyn8294 true true all my friends are pve players tho lol I had to do the looking for posts to get teammates became good friends with a bunch. but my friends I mainly play sot with rather dig up treasure than PvP to each their own. I love PvP they sadly are trash and hate it they ended up cheesing a skeli bc I had one. I couldn’t play with them I liked seeing my PvP progress and get better I thought the whole point of getting a skeli was to improve your PvP but there’s to many out there that just cheesed it that lack the skill to back up the curse like my one friend if there’s a boarder 10 times out of 10 can’t win the gunfight and dies but has a skeli curse lol
I am red bones and i use all the gold skelly jargon💀maybe i should be higher level than i am ngl
Sounds to me like you gotta play more hourglass!
what is the song behind pls
It starts with the music from The Seabound Soul tall tale, then its the theme from the skeleton fleet world event, and then I end the video with the LeChuck's ship theme from Return to Monkey Island.
Oh wow thank youu@@arathyn8294
I'm currently lvl 134 and my goal is the sunken bones. The next goal is lvl 200 in gof. Great video btw
Great goals, and thank you for the support

ive met 1 good gold bones out of 14 and i still beat them every other probably exploited for it or was carried
Ah. I've definitely fought a few golds that made me think that.
Or, maybe you're just really, really good, don't discredit yourself, too.
Could also be that once people hit gold, a good portion actually tend to slow down on how much the play, cause once they've hit their huge goal, there's not much infentive to lock in like crazy anymore. Sometimes, people who are in the middle of their grind are way more in practice since they're working harder for levels at that point in time.
Please start streaming!
@I_Sogeking_I I've considered it, man, and maybe this is kinda lame lol, but streaming stresses me out too much 😅. I actually have a hard time talking if I don't have a script to work with and practice....I sounded really slow the few times I was live.
But who knows, maybe it will just take time.
@@arathyn8294 Understood! I'll take what I'll get and am more than happy, that I've found this channel. I personally don't mind a person who doesn't have the personality, or the energy to be an entertainer. Regarding your script I feel like I could learn a lot from you. The word's you use to describe those "ranks" remember me of my time in Rainbow Six.
I've been in the top 50 in my country in rainbow six siege back in 2018-2020 and I feel you're at the same point in sea of thieves. I've just started playing a few weeks ago with my mate from the army. Tonight I've had my first PVP hourglass match and after winning a 1v2 on my solo sloop I've smelled blood. I'd love to learn more, so I'll someday control the horizon around my ships. Finding your video was more a stroke of luck because I didn't even look for curses. But vibe checking you, I feel I could learn so much more from you. After all, you exactly talk like I do about rainbow.
piss bones 😍😍😍

You'll get there man! Don't need to rush levels, they add up over time
