I am no threat to his channel or what he is doing. I will work on changing the videography so it will be more different. @mbshoedoc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually state which dye I am using in the video but this one was a custom mix. I can tell you I use Fiebing, Angelus and Saphir dyes all freely and interchangeably. I have not really found one brand to be superior. It is more a situation of I may like the navy blue shade of one brand better and another brands mid brown better. No overall winner to me.

    Thank a lot, But I have question. Have you ever used oxalic acid for removing old color?

    • @mbshoedoc
      @mbshoedoc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I have never tried that. Acetone is used by most if not all patina artists I know. It is well established, inexpensive and works well. I have rarely used some rubbing alcohol which strips less than acetone. I used some oxalic acid years ago to bleach and clean quartz crystals but have never used it on a shoe. It could work well but it may also damage the leather. I personally wouldn't try it since the acetone works well.

      @@usernameftl a fair question but I have been using acetone for years now with no issues in any of my shoes.
