    Tank you Preston for this amazing video. With your guidance I was able to repaint my light brown Chelsea boots to a rich burgundy colour and they look amazing. If it wasn’t for you I would probably make a lot of senseless mistakes and I doubt the paint job would end up looking so good. You are one of the best out there, thank you for your dedication and have a great day. Kind regards from Czech Republic.

    Hi Preston, I really enjoyed that and that colour has a touch of elegance. The last video you did of a mirror shine did help a lot as it was so simple to understand, cheers for that👌🏽
    You mentioned that you add about 8-9 layers of wax to the shoe, is that just the toe cap part or the entire shoe? How do you avoid cracking of wax where the shoe flexes, I've always had that problem?
    Thanks

  • @sterling4271

    Hello Preston! I've really enjoyed the many hours I've spent watching your videos. I would like to know if it is better to strip the shoe before trying to mirror polish, or can it successfully be done on top of a factory finish? I suspect that the longer process will yield better results, but I had to ask, because, you know....lazy!

    Hey Preston, now that you've perfected/refined your mirror shine technique, it would be interesting to see another comparison between Saphir and Kiwi products, particularly for the budget minded. I recall one of the big benefits of Saphir was not only the quality of the shine, but also the speed with which you could bring it up. Would Kiwi benefit from the new technique as well? Thanks!

    I thought the cardinal shoe shine sin was waxing everything but the toe cap and heel? Don't get me wrong, these look amazing, but what happens after the first step, when the vamp flex cracks the wax? Unless this is just good lighting, or for show. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    • @TheElegantOxford
      @TheElegantOxford  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you avoid creases and flex points you’ll be fine. Only you can know where that is on your personal pairs. I made sure to avoid them where I saw them.
      On the off chance there is some cracking, just brush it off or use a hair dryer to even it out.

And if I strip it will it remove the color to where I have to redye it like you did or will colored wax be enough to bring it back?
