I have a question regarding MD general medicine, The PG college I am joining for MD general medicine has excellent case exposure, can take independent decision, and has super speciality posting also, but a major drawback is its icu is run by anesthesia residents, and General Medicine residents don't get chance to put central line, hd catheter. The Hands-on part is less. I would want to pursue DM in neuro or cardio or nephro, so the lack of skills to put central line, intubate and hd catheter, icu practical skills, would they matter once I finish my DM? I am quite confused if it matters in the future once I start working as a SR in a Speciality, Will there be any opportunity to learn these skills once my MD is finished, or is it better to join a college with more practical hands on procedural skills?
