Van Williams is one of the nicest men in Hollywood-absolutely no ego whatsoever--he realized that the audience tuned into the Green Hornet to see Kato and as such he pushed the writers to include Bruce Lee in more of the storylines

Love all three parts! I never missed THE GREEN HORNET Friday nights on ABC in 1966/1967! Had SUCH a crush on Wende Wagner.

The Green Hornet is my hero. Watching this three part clip, I wish I could turn back time and worked with Van & Wende - these people have class.

My all time favorite show. They would kick the crap out of Batman and Robin. Saw the original Black Beauty at the Peterson Museum- Awesome.

I love watching retro TV episodes (I'm watching MacGuyver right now), and decided to look up Wende Wagner (I was watching Rio Conchos) and I'm surprised, and saddened, to see that she had passed on at the age of 55 (cancer). People are still thinking about her in 2022.

I'm seeing this interview with Van and Wende from 1990, and Wende still looked good at that time, after all, she was about 49 when she and Van were interviewed. Love her art collection...and her. Miss Wende Wagner terribly. May she R.I.P.

@tornmask I so understand your feelings. All my loved ones who were with me in those golden days are gone as well. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with peace and happiness. We fans of the classic Green Hornet TV series must stick together! : )

@profeso07 Good to talk to you as well. I miss the 1960's. Not the bad parts, but the great times, people and pop culture. I too have heard rumblings about the new Green Hornet film and casting Seth Rogin as the Hornet.I just don't picture him in that role. Van Williams and Bruce Lee were perfect in the series I felt, and will always be my favorites. Talk to you again and take care my friend!

@frightfan1 thanks for writing. it's great to chat w/ a fan from that era. the good ole 1960's. already fans are commenting about the film. s. rogen does not fit the role. i agree. back in the early 1980's a GH film was considered. Jackie Chan was considered for KATO. also i mentioned that Ted Mc Ginley ( jefferson of married w/ children ) play the GH. i'll let you know. ****

it is so sad that the great legacy of the Van Williams Green Hornet was tarnished by that "you know what" seth rogen.
that Rogen green hornet movie was so offensive to anyone with taste.
and to imagine that "no go rotten piece of" Rogen made a big bunch of money do it !

The IMPERIAL was NOT A CHRYSLER from 1955 onward. It was spun off from the Chrysler line, and registered as a separate distinct make of car unto itself, starting in 1955. The Green Hornet’s IMPERIAL, the Black Beauty , was a 1966 model...as was the one in the Seth Rogen movie. So these cars were not “Chrysler” Imperials. They were just IMPERIALS .
This was done by the Chrysler Corporation, so that the IMPERIAL could properly compete against its old rivals, Cadillac and Lincoln, which it could not properly do as a high priced car, as long as it was saddled with the medium priced “Chrysler“ nameplate. (Chrysler competed against Buick and Mercury) Once the imperial was spun off into his own brand, that left the second - banana Chrysler New Yorker as the top Chrysler model ... while the premium IMPERIAL , as it OWN BRAND, was given its own models: the Custom, the Crown, and the top of the line LeBaron. It simply was NOT a Chrysler anymore...Nor did the “Chrysler” name appear anywhere on the car.

Honestly, initially the reason what got me into Green Hornet is Kato - Bruce Lee!
