Same applies to the Phil Lynott and Cliff Burton basses. A barried up late '70s P Bass is a £3000 instrument. An old Black and Gold Aria worth even less.
@@orlowski2018 From EBMM's website: "All proceeds from the sale of this Cliff Williams Icon series bass will be donated to The American Alzheimer’s Association Gulf Coast Chapter who provides support and resources for those living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer's or other dementias." Knowing Malcolm Young succumbed to dementia, donating the proceeds is kind of understandable, as opposed to pocketing it all instead.
Ever watched "This is Spinal Tap"? There's a scene where Nigel shows the documentarian his guitars and amps collection (yes it's 'these go to eleven' scene. Anyway, there's one guitar which was so valuable they couldn't even point at. It's Fender Bass VI in seafoam green. One of two ever made in this color. You can watch PhilX play the other one somewhere on TH-cam
Entwistle is the reason I play the bass and his dog model is so expensive I can’t remember the price but I do remember how pissed off it made me Stanley Clarke’s signature Alembic is about $12K There was a Michael Anthony Yamaha that I had just missed purchasing but he has the Jack Daniel’s that’s unreachable made by Carl Thompson (?) I think it would be better to wait until I get an endorsement, seems cheaper lol😊
You can get a Steve Harris signature Precision for a more modest £1400, or a J J Burnel signature Shuker for £2200. Or a Charles Berthoud signature Schechter for £1650...
Rickenbacker 4001CS, the Chris Squire model, though it’s not as expensive as it could be at the moment. Reverb has a mint condition example for €14k, a signed one for $24k.
I'm not big on signature instruments, but the Cliff Burton has had me drooling since it came out. Also, if I had the spare cash, I'd absolutely drop $10000 on a Zon Hyperbass.
The highest I've seen a signature instrument go is a guitar for Wolf Hoffman of Accept. He had a Framus signature going for $20k USD! At least it's none of the pre-reliced BS a lot of expensive signatures do, but $20k?!?!
if you ever plan on purchasing, be careful the build quality isn't really up to par with it's price and it's electronics can get a little squirrelly at times...but if you're set on just having the bass just for fun and stuff it's definitely worth it👍🏼
The thundercat bass is somehow the heaviest, most uncomfortable bass I’ve ever tried. Makes me respect him even more for pulling off his insane chops on it!
I like the last one. I own a modest string of recording studios. It would be cool to play that at one of them. Or at my home studio.I don’t need the shades. 😊
Not to mention the Oceania custom 25 fret Strat bass for Stanley Clarke. My man, Necrobutcher uses Epiphone Les Paul basses. New Count Day #226 of BEHgging for Necrobutcher's BEHS tone
Reverend guitars make a lot of sig models. But their sig models are for PLAYERS, not collectors. I, for instance, own a Brad Houser Basshouser Fatfish 32 medium length neck behs. Its awesome and one of a kind. I play it at every gig. So my point is, sig models don't have to be pretentious personality peddling. Reverend does an amazing job at working with artists to create a truly affordable, playable and good looking instrument.
Anthony Jackson's signature Fodera Presentation II costs over 30k. And the funniest part about it is it doesn't have any controls on the bass, you just get a single pickup with a XLR jack. While Thundercat's model is expensive, it has fully active electronics and a Roland MIDI pickup built-in. You also didn't include Michael Manring's Zon Hyperbass, which costs around 7 grand.
I’m genuinely surprised that Cliff Williams’ and Lynott’s are so expensive, like I honestly thought that one of Paul McCartney’s Hofners or the Chris Squire Rickenbacker 4001S would be up there
Number two looks good as well. I started playing the bass first. Then guitar. Then piano, then drums and harmonica, the blues kind , not old Suzan’s . 😝. And sa little bit of sax.
I have a Lakland Skyline 44-64 Geezer Butler and its not crazy priced, just crazy good. EMG's best pickups, Lakland everything else. Also comes in transparent purple ash.
ABC rich Rickenbacker longneck will cost a pretty penny if they will still make them. I have one and I had to get the neck Rihanna live sounds great. I hope that what kind of strings are used for it they only use that one kind of sounds like Paul McCartney and the older days of the Beatles and he switched to one of those. It was a lighter kind of bass, but it was still the boom zone but it was.
Anthony Jackson’s Fodera signature contrabass , 20k u.s. and up . You should check him out Behs fella (if you haven’t already ) . He’s the shiz for sure . Lately I listen to him with hiromi in the trio project but back in the day he blew my mind playing with Steve Kahn , he’s also one of those ‘ on thousands of records as a session player ‘ folks . Enjoy yr vids . Thx sir !
Some of these guys were around before a signature instrument was a thing. Aria wasn't really known for making high end stuff as a mid tier Japanese manufacturer like Fernandes. To my knowledge Cliff was using them just before he died. He used his Rics more often. With the Thundercat you at least get additional features (semi?)hollow, 6 strings, 3 pickups. Interesting that they used EMG HZs which are both underrated and shouldn't add that much to the instrument cost. I think if you're going to pay a lot for a bass, it should have stuff on it most basses don't have, like Billy Sheehan's Yamahas with their dual outputs and unconventional pickups.
The Scott Reeder Warwick custom 8 string has got to be up there somewhere. I wasn't even able to find a listing, only an estimate that it was at least $10,000 USD
Do you like Kirk Hammett the guitar player his my idol and cliff Burton he is my behs idol. Love your videos Been whatching for about 7 months now but yeah Hope you answer
These seem to be more like collectors items. You pay that much and the rarity of the bass in some cases will make you think twice about gigging with it.
You nailed with the 12 years of email spam 😂😂😂😂 on Scott’s bass
Dude, I've hit "unsubscribe" on those not-so-Devine emails a hundred times.😂
😂😂😂😂😂 Scott-😢
I loved my SBL subscription when I had it, and will likely get it again in the future if I have more time, but JEEZ the spam is crazy
😂😂😂😂😂
Yep. Nailed it. SBL is a spam factory.
That cliff burton bass is so sexy tho
Unlike Cliff Burton himself 😅
The SB is easily the coolest bass model damn near ever
Most overrated bassist ever awful tone too

Lemmy's carved Rickenbacker 4004LK "Rickenbastard" £15,679.19 ($19,999.99)
How many of those were made tho?
The Cliff Williams one is just a recreation of his 70's music man. You can buy an actual 70's model for half the price.
Personally I don’t get the hype for pre Ernie Ball Stingrays. I think the later ones sound better
@@Damage_Kase_99 I don't notice much of a difference between old ones and the new ones, I play a brand new one I think it sounds awesome
Yeah I wonder why it's so expensive? So many people hate that poor guy anyway 😂

Geddy Lee MIJ Jazz Bass is the only signature I've ever bought. Dat neck!
Came here to say this. Quickly became my daily player.
My main bass and I play mostly jazz! A fantastic bass ❤
I purchased a new 2018 Mexican version unseen through my local music store for $760. Absolutely love it. The shallow C neck is wonderful.
John Entwhistle “Boris the Spider” Alembic.
I'd love to have that one.

Signature Model? Not dog. Spellcheck sux
all the alembics are just sooo expensive
Makes you wonder how much Bootsy Collins paid for his star-shaped Space Behs.
Phil Lynott's bass is the most iconic bass to ever exist. And it's just a P bass. But damn, the man made it so iconic
It wouldn't be that hard to customize an American deluxe, and save almost $8,000 in the process
