    Not a lot, but it can definitely save your drone!

    Thanks for doing this test. I haven't taken this risk till now nor did I have to, but it's good to know it exists like you said. Happy flying and keep the test videos coming ! I see you're channel's doing really well when you upload these DJI Mini 2 videos.

    Been through a situtation like that. Strong winds and i ignored the warnings. Landed on 1%. Thankfully the drone is still with me.
    Lesson learned haha

    Saw a video, this guy flew over the sea for over 1km with 0% battery cause he didn't take wind in consideration, luckily it saved his drone

    I love my Mini 2 and I won't risk it by going below 10%. Still, good to know!

    Cracking video, I have a found a trick/hack/tip with the Mavic mini 2 controller, can I drop the link in your comments to help other drone flyers?

    How come the home point is set 240m further along the beach? Did you wait for a homepoint to set before you took off ? Did you manage to see if there was any juice left in the battery on the app, potentially killing the battery but I guess using it in an emergency you would have too. Thanks

    I honestly think only people who don't really care about their Mini would do such extreme things as take the battery below 10%!
    I'd never do that, the lowest I land on is 20%, usually at 25% or something to always have a small, real reserve, lol..
    Sweet
    Keep well and be safe bro!

    If you want a real time idea of exactly what each cell of your battery is doing, just turn the battery monitor on.. Voltage never lies, and individual cell readings give a more accurate picture...For a Lipo cell, 3.5v is landing time...🤔😳😯🇬🇧

    If I keep my drone hovering by pushing that altitude knob up, will the drone just force a soft landing or it will just fall from the sky. I did not get that. Thanks

    • @samdorais4160
      @samdorais4160 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you keep the drone hovering at a reasonable height the drone will just do a "soft" forced landing. However lets say your at like 150m in height it has a chance to drop out of the sky.

    • @DMProductions
      @DMProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In forced it will descend and do a soft landing , albeit faster than normal landing but after that it will come down fast or potentially shut up like it did with me , luckily mine was a low height

    4:20 - proceeds to tell us that its not worth taking the battery below 0% and damage it ... then does it anyway. 🤣

    • @DMProductions

      I’ll take the risk so you don’t have to lol

      Again this is misleading and inaccurate information. I do wish people that do not know what they are talking about wouldn’t give out ‘advice’ like they actually understand what they are doing.
      So, depleting the battery to zero percent WILL NOT damage your battery. The same way that draining your cell phone battery to zero percent doesn’t damage your phone battery.
      These packs have an LVC (Low voltage cut-off) built into them as well as Battery management system software using Texas Instruments BMS chips. They cut off and turn the UAV off at around 3.1v per cell.
      The reason it is not advisable to ever run your packs down to zero is due to the discharge curve of Lipo packs which give a fairly flat discharge from nominal and then fall off a plateau very quickly.
      The BMS will take care of monitoring both voltage under load as well as internal resistance of the cells which will increase with age. However, percentage of a lipo pack is NEVER accurate. Percentage is an estimate, whereas voltage is absolute.
      Best practice and to get the most out of your packs you should be safe on deck at indicated 20% capacity.

    I got some modded batteries for the mini 2. Work and looks almost like factory but uses air 2 cells. I'm pushing 43 minutes of flight over 5 miles away 1 way. If your interested in seeing proof or want to try 1 holler at me. I paid 86 a piece for them. I can send u 1 for free for a shoutout or I can show u where I buy them.
