Frankie shows why he is a champion and also has the potential to be an amazing coach. He explains his ideas in a clear and concise manner. I would love the opportunity to have a session with him.
Would be a lot more interesting to see this with Frankie coaching somebody who isn't already a past world-class bowler but definitely some good stuff to listen in on here. It's also a good reminder that everybody can use coaching at any level.
Cool video from Coach Frankie! Definitely good advise that he will use to improve his game. There are a lot of moving parts to bowling from head to toe. Some folks don't understand how dynamic this sport really is. Great job! The trick is to fix something without unfixing other things in the process.
Ironic, but this was my exact training with Mark Baker. Timing and creating a flat spot. The greats think very similarly. I love Frankie! When he came in, I loved it!
Man, I really loved this vlog Francois!! That was one of the best teaching videos I have watched--perhaps it is because I have some of the similar issues at times. Thanks!
He bowls alot like me. I'll take some of the tips outlined herein, i.e., hand grip, position under the ball to flatren it out more (my bowl tends yo "hockey stick" as his did initially when he approached and targeted more from the right as opppsed to the left), foot speed, squaring up my body more facing the pins (foul line), and slid position at the foul line. In short, the mechanics that work for you will improve upon the fundamentals. I'll definitely apply these things to my game and hopefully, I'll start seeing some improvement.
Nice video. Nice to see a pro helping us with the process when we don’t have high revs or high speed. I would guess most of us fit the “stroker” category. Thanks!
Probably the most underrated advice but my coach didn’t actually teach me about grip pressure. And how I should consistently pressure the fingers throughout the steps. Grip pressure consistency helped my average from 120 to 190+ 😅 the only downside is that it sometimes hurts the fingers, especially if you practice 5-6 games (50-60 frames).😢
Hello Ian. All bowlers are great. My favorite 2 hander is Packy Hanrahan. My favorite 1 hander is Darren Tang. My all time favorite bowler is Parker Bohn III. I grew up watching him in the '80s. These guys are great on and off the lanes.
@@EricSmyth4Christ Fair enough about Simo, he is a bit arrogant, but once you get past that I think he's kinda entertaining. Wtf Fagan do to you tho 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ianhoneycutt3858 I was bowling a pro am with Fagan on my lane and I asked him “Can I throw one of your bowling balls?” I wasn’t asking for a free ball, just to throw his ball I’m two fingers so if his ball rolls well I get a new layout option He says “Why would you want to do that?” It was awkward and lame His poor bowling balls couldn’t take one throw from me I guess He is probably better than half the pros at niceness and sportsmanship who knows But that was my one experience with him
Speaking from experience, once you get the grip relaxed, you can add the wrist cup back in. Your release will stay clean, but your revs will go way. Don't rush the process, though. Good luck!
Instead of telling him slower feet, he would benefit from taking less & longer strides. He's like 6'2 or taller & takes like 8-10 baby steps. It should only take him 3 to 4 steps with the 3rd or 4th step being his alide step.
His form actually looks worse as we get to minute 17. None of these tips have helped to correct his feet getting to the line before his arm. Pushing off earlier and slightly more deliberate would have done more for his dynamics than all of the other tweaks.
You also understand that tips and changes to your game take time. That's why we practice. Shown me 1 athlete in any sport at an elite level that makes a change at it takes 1 hour to perfect ? Take your time. I will wait.
@@ryanreid5859 If a coach gives me executable feedback, the change is almost immediate. Bowling is simple physics and anatomy. Even timing is a product of the other two.
@nathanielfuentes5294 sure you might be able to do it a couple times but it isn't ingrained in your body or approach immediately. Be real. If it was that easy why are you not the world's best? I don't remember seeing your name on TV or any big international events ?

Agreed. Would like to see this type of training with average league bowlers rather than accomplished bowlers.
Ditto

Frankie failed to correct the root causes of the timing issue.
Would be a lot more interesting to see this with Frankie coaching somebody who isn't already a past world-class bowler but definitely some good stuff to listen in on here. It's also a good reminder that everybody can use coaching at any level.
Outstanding lesson by LaVoie! Great Video!! Jim
Best advice I got, just a year ago my coach told me:
"the simpler the better"
Great tips. Thanks for sharing.
Great stuff. Learned a lot.

Absolutely love this video. I would love to get a lesson with Francois that would be awesome. But definitely do more of these
this was a perfect recap on my last lesson with my local pro, very relative to my game and what I am working on. Thank you
This was an awesome video. I'm watching this multiple times
Great Coaching. This Gentleman is a good bowler.

Great video with Jimoo at the back
Hahaha... "titties to the pins not to the floor..." 😂 saw that smirk... 😁
Real saying from a golfers I watch is titties to the target.
Thanks for this video, learned a few tips to try on myself as I've been struggling
Great to see Frankie and watch how he thinks about bowling.
Ol francis has a job after he’s done bowling! Amazing stuff right here

Best advice I've received was from Anne Marie Duggan and it's as simple as this. It's just bowling. Greatest advice I've received to date.
she's an excellent coach
I know Anne-Marie Duggan as well. She works at my old home center in the pro shop.
Great video! More like this please!!
Fran looks very serious and professional about his game

What I wii pi old pay for a coaching session with a PBA pro
Would be awesome to get a lesson from Francois, does he offer lessons?
Yes when he comes to Vancouver !!
amazing video!
I think the best advice I picked up on there is where to position the ball to bring the shoulder down. I bowl Sunday, Lets see what i can do . Thanks
The background is the same we had back in the days at Frontenac
what shoes was Ryan wearing?
Could you tell me how he was early in his timing
Thank you
My favorite 2 hander is Osku Palermaa
My favorite 1 hander is either Mike Fagan or Norm Duke
My favorite Pro in general is Anthony Simonson

Cool video talk tech bowling bowling ball
Frankie coaching! Cool 👍
Keep your shoulder facing the pin👍
Loved this video, what a great lesson. My favorite bowler
Hi Ryan! I posted footage of Ryan from 2005 bowling the intercollegiate collegiate championships
You are a bowling historian. You have footage of everything
@@ryanreid5859 Everything? I wish.
I really wish i could find a good coach.
Good coaching Francois.
Good students help. He changed more effectively than most.
Be consistent. Work on one thing at a time, and make your spares!
Best advice that I have received, and I still have issues with, is to stay under the ball and dont come around it.
I literally had almost all of the exact same issue.
this video made it to my best bowling tips folder!
Is it just me or does it sound like his ball slams down kinda hard is that how its supposed to be done?
The mic’s are sensitive and makes it louder than it really is, you’d want a smooth laydown if possible.
Best advice so far for me is to stop squeezing relax the thumb. Uncup the wrist lift up

What is the circle in the front of the lane for
It's not real. It's a figure of your imagination.
At least that's what I try to tell myself when I see it everyday

COACH LAVOIE - NOT a beginner, I would drive to you, i don’t get butt hurt, low key favorite bowler.
His form actually looks worse as we get to minute 17. None of these tips have helped to correct his feet getting to the line before his arm.
Pushing off earlier and slightly more deliberate would have done more for his dynamics than all of the other tweaks.
I remember when we paid 25 cents a game
Send me your accomplishments and bowling resume and maybe you can offer lessons
