- The Ford LTD (pronounced ell-TEE-dee) is a range of automobiles manufactured by Ford Motor Company for the 1965 to 1986 model years. Introduced as the highest trim level of the full-size Ford model range, then the Galaxie, the LTD offered options and features that had previously been reserved for more luxurious Lincoln and Mercury models. The largest vehicle produced by Ford in North America for most of its production, the LTD was joined by the intermediate Ford LTD II from 1977 to 1979; the LTD II served as the replacement for the Torino/Gran Torino range. At various times throughout its production, the LTD range included two- and four-door pillared and hardtop sedans, a two-door convertible, and the Country Squire five-door woodgrain station wagon.
1970: The split grille was discontinued; while its Mercury Marquis counterpart continues its Lincoln-style fascia, Ford redesigned the front end of the LTD with a three-segment grille with a prominent center section a modified version of the 1970 Ford Thunderbird and Continental Mark III. All LTDs got a new federally-mandated locking steering column and wheel, with the ignition switch located on the right side of the column. For model year 1970 the LTD received a new luxury trim package called the LTD Brougham which came with optional equipment on other models as standard and was offered on the four-door sedan, four-door hardtop and two-door hardtop and a black vinyl padded roof. It was a similar approach used for only 1967 on the Mercury Park Lane Brougham which was a four-door sedan or four-door hardtop only.

I did a lot of the work on that car. Lowering, suspension, and steering rebuild, carburetor rebuild, electronic ignition, and tune up. Also, a few small things. It's a very solid car with original drive train. Someone will be getting a really nice car.
110%.
Mitch, thank you so much for all you did. The car ran like a dream, but I thought I wanted out of the classic car hobby. There are days I regret my decision to sell it, but the Caddy’s been good to me as well. Can’t keep them all.

Auto!
Beautiful
What a coincidence! This used to be my car.
I owned it 2016-2019, in Oakdale, CA. It is a strong runner and looks sharp. I hope the new owner enjoys it for years to come.
Hi B3, I'm not sure why it has been removed because I sure as heck didn't do it. I see it in the history. Did you post something that might have been flagged? PS : Really enjoyed this car for a bit!
@@vintagecarconnections I gave the cities where I bought it, where I live, and where the person I sold it to lives- just cities though… no addresses. I guess TH-cam doesn’t like that.
Were you able to find replacement glass for the cracked windshield? That was something I could never find.
And good job finding a proper matching passenger side view mirror. That was another thing I was unsuccessful in finding.
@@B3burner Perhaps..
Yes, internet is a powerful tool :)
The 69-70 model years were the best😍
My Dads friend had one of these, I used to ask for a ride home from the ice rink in it. Gorgeous car.
Thank you.
FNA Had one in highschool 429 . Absolutely in love ..
Nice! This had a 390, but was still fun!
Nice car good video, My Dad had a 1969 with the 390. Was a great car good memories.
Where is it now?
@@vintagecarconnections Well can't say with certainty but if I had to guess scrap yard recycling maybe a lucky man got it. when I was 16 got my first job at an automotive detail shop took the limited skills I learned into taking that car from being covered in moss and mildew I think made it very good. My Dad was very impressed.. I offered to buy it.. My Dad liked it and the offer. Mum would not have it so when they moved car was towed
Just seeing this now! If only I had found it when 4 sale!! Best looking LTD ever! Best looking big Ford I think ever made!
Subscribe and maybe the next time you will. 😉
The '70 XLs were slightly better looking, the only difference being the fastback roof. I still own my '70 XL and I used to have a '70 LTD also.
4:36 Road demon in triple black
Looks like where they shot the movie dual.
These were my favorite cars for the pretty tail lights, coke bottle rear fender, reverse lights integrated in the bumber , grill and hidden headlamps with protruding nose in the middle of the grill.
It does look like the road from the movie Duel. I think if Dennis Weaver had this car, he would have no problem getting away from that truck.😊
That is one beautiful looking & sounding American LTD❤👍
Thanks! 😇
Buford Pusser had one of those when he was Sherriff, Walking Tall.
Wow, the overhangs on that thing!
Had a 1970 XL 2 door sport roof .390 2bbl factory duels 3.00 rear.52,000 originall miles when I got it.I was surprised how peaky that 390 was ,had a turbine like whine as the revs got higher and pulled harder as the revs got higher.put in high rate springs and it made it really stable .and corner flat.
Got to be the slickest black paint job I've ever seen, got the right wheels best grill of all Ltd's beautiful car😊
Rare but so necessary to know this fine automobile still exist 💎in the rough
Thanks!
That's a sweet ride! I love a big black car with a blue interior. I had a 70 Plymouth Fury 1 440 police pursuit and an 81 LTD Alabama trooper car, black and blue, and a 69 Impala Custom 427 black with black interior.
Very nice love that driver wrap around instrument panel I love the front end I just like the tail lights on the 69 a wee bit more and the fact that it is a coupe makes it super great for me
Great looking car. We had a Galaxy 500 w/351W. First car that I can remember as a kid my parents owned that could drive effortlessly at 80-100 mph on an interstate before the energy crisis. But watching that handle on that twisty road was making me sea sick. Cars have come along way in 50 years. It certainly is beautifully restored though.
What a beauty
King of the World, Scott Anthony McCoy love's that car, looks Mopar good ! I need to be driving that beauty. Grandson of Austin McCoy is one of my grandpa's cars ??? Love it !!! 👑🌎👍👍👍🐺😎
Beauty
Ahhhh yes , those were the days .
I would take " That" car over anything that Detroit puts out nowadays .
They’re actually putting out some fun stuff lately!
But nevertheless this is a badass ride. I would question which key to pick up on the way out the door. 😉
FABULOUS!
I had one with 429ci 4barrel dark metallic green. Could keep tires on it. I loved that car, wish I never sold it.
This spec in that color would be really nice to see! Find another one!
😍
Nice car
I have not seen one of these in years
They are quite rare! Even if you are around old cars all of the time.
I had a gold one with 351. Not a ton of power but nice car. Dash cracks were common.
Cool! looks like a Mercury
Beautiful car! We had this car , but ours had square tail lights. I don’t know what year it was .
NICE‼️. I see suffer with the "brown" raised letter tires like a lot of us do... Try a pumice stone and heavy duty Purple Power cleaner. For stubborn bleed over, some 200 grit sandpaper works. They'll probably continue to bleed over every few weeks or so but the stone and heavy duty degreaser will keep them in good shape.
Good advise! Thanks!
Sweet!
Oh yeah!
I like it.❤
Although nicely done I'd ditch the exhaust tips. Edit: I see they're not tips. I'm just partial to OEM exhaust parts, but you did an amazing job with this car!
Thanks for the nice words, in this specific case my job was advertising.
The credit would have to go to 2 commentator here who actually did all the heavy lifting and coincidentally found this video on YT! What are the odds?
Might be a good idea to look at their channel : Mitch Lopina, B3_Burner
Good day!
SWEET 👍
Oh yeah!
A black beauty. 🖤
Excellence
Ya know, somewhere I have a original AC compressor off of my dad's (he bought new) 70 LTD...
Sweet !!
Is it for sale or trade? I have a 69 Ford LTD with a 429 in great shape!
This one was for sale, but its since been sold.. It was super nice! Had a 390 in it. It's not often you see these cars in this condition and with a cool spec / taste. Interested in parting ways w yours? email a paragraph / few photos and location if you are. vintagecarconnections@gmail.com
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I see it has the handling package.
Yep! Me. 😉
There are several colors that look good with a blue interior.....black ain't one of 'em.
Brand new car.
I owned a 1970 ford ltd in 2010 is a super car, i love it.
My best friend had a 1970 Ltd, he got it for a 100 dollars
Lucky b--!
How much, when?
Already sold, we keep the #'s private for our customers.. Unless you saw them.. But these are super rare. Not sure when the next one comes up.. :)
@@vintagecarconnections How much would it cost to find one for me like that, ruffly?
@@davidford1681 Depends. Send me an email vintagecarconnections@gmail.com I’ll give you some detailed information.
If who ever has this car ever what’s to sell it please let me know thanks
390?
Yes sir!
@@vintagecarconnections I will be having parts pretty soon. Taking a rear ended '70 Brougham. Putting that 390 into a '56 Club sedan.
Yes. 390 2-bbl.
One vital piece missing, no visual of engine, drivetrain specs., etc.
Fair enough.

That's a pretty car there until you get to the ugly exhaust tips and especially the loud exhaust which for some unknown reason, folks with old cars think they all need to sound loud and obnoxious. It would do better with a stock exhaust and having its a/c compressor installed back into it.
Beautiful
