I'm an 80s baby. Even though I've had several over the years the Banshee always has and always will be my favorite quad.
They have almost a cult like following.
The banshee was cool. But we all wanted to ride on the forbidden Suzuki quadzilla.. lol
Stories were told around many ATVs back in the 90's about the Suzuki 500 quadracer. It was like a mythological creature that vanished out of production. Of course people back then said it was too dangerous for a production ATV. This coming from a generation who rode three wheelers and Honda fat cats.🤣
And yes kids, before the Honda Odyssey and Honda Pilot cars we knew them as badass go-carts and dune buggies lol.
It's a toss up for me between the Raptor and Banshee but for sure both are my favorite!!!

I had an 87' Banshee back in the 1990's when I was a teenager, back then only competition was the Quadzilla 500. Loved that quad the sound, the speed. But after I got a Warrior 350 a few later I enjoyed the better fuel economy and being able to putt around. Guess I got "old" in my 20's lol

A banshee is a twin cylinder which means its max power is that of the 2 cylinders combined as one, Idiots need to wake up thinking there 4 wheeler is going to beat a banshee head to head with CCs.

Any kind of racing pipes are 10 times better than the factory Banshee pipes and there isn’t anything wrong with a Raptor but the 700 is just a big number

True, pipes next to porting are the two mods that wake the banshee up the most.
I agree they add a tremendous amount of power for a one item bolt-on. I didn't at all mean to undermine the modification by saying that it was "only piped" more or less what I was getting at was that it wasn't modified any further as far as intake, jetting, porting, etc.
And to run the pipes it’s gotta be jetted that’s a big one too

I’ve had a 350 warrior for a while now I’m thinking about upgrading too a banshe or raptor 660/700 which one should I get?
The Banshee is a unique ride exodus and can offer a boat from the past, but the Raptor is far more powerful and reliable. I would gowoth a 700 or a 660 bc of the fuel delivery being fuel injection. Also, I don't care for the 5 valve system that the 660 is equipped with.
Hopefully on the next vid you guys also switch quads

That face though "😩"... 😂😂😂 He normally does a whole lot better than that. In fact, I think he had some better runs on his quad, the grey Raptor. I think he either just wasn't used to the extra power on Megatron where it revs up much more quickly through the gears or he was just enjoying the awesome sound of the exhaust bouncing off that rev limiter lol.... We ended up switching quads during the race with Megatron! 😁

Pretty sick! I guess the power peaks off on the top end with a stock Raptor cuz its like the shee just walked away on the top end but didn't with Megatron!

I believe you're right! They still Have about 80% tread but the rubber is really hard and doesn't flex as much as it should in the dirt. So new tires would definitely grab the dirt better.

Funny how a set of pipes on a 2 stroke makes a huge difference over stock. I put the whoppin on stock banshees all the time, and a lot of slightly modded as well with an 06 Raptor 700. Nothing like the Raptor for ride, handling and torque. Except maybe a moded LTR.

I actually expected the 700 to win, if you could get that banshee to really hook down low or maybe even do it on the pavement I think it would be even faster. I’m interested in how it does against big 3, with that being said your 700rs tires are really bald so it’ll be up to weigh and power with next videos race can’t wait 😁

The race I want to see is a ported banshee vs a big 3 raptor 700 with a cam, they make around the same power so I’m curious about that one. A big 3 raptor should beat a piped, filter, jetted, advanced timing banshee since it makes more power and torque. As far as this race, pipes on a banshee really wake it up, so I’m not entirely surprised it won against a bone stock raptor, mod for mod though I think the raptor wins. Like the banshee, the raptor comes pretty restricted from the factory as well, mods really wake it up.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond! 👍 So I'm not sure if I'll ever end up porting this Banshee. But I do see in the near future placing a set of cams on the Raptor 😁 Even possibly going as far as a throttle body setup. If I don't end up porting this Banshee then I plan to buy a second Banshee that I go all out on. So you may not see that race anytime soon but it's a possibility eventually I'll have two quads with that set up and then I'll have a race video out for you! 🤘😎

Eric Friend from empire industries built my 421 cub, but he mostly does exhaust systems for 4 strokes now, I believe he has a throttle body that he just came out with for the raptor 700, might be worth looking into for the future.

How much do you know about the Honda 700xx cuz I just got one and it's running too rich I can smell it in the spark plugs black I made sure the Gap was right so that means it's getting too much fuel and not enough air but there's no adjustments on it if I ride it without the air box lid on it has a lot more power and bogs less

I owned both and my raptors would eat my banshee except in the sand or low traction spots then the light weight was an advantage like racing on dirt! Raptor has balder tires and more weight to get moving! Plus it’s a torque monster so you’re not allowing it to open up at all. Put it on concrete start in second rev it to the limiter and dump the clutch and you should smoke the banshee. 37hp vs 45hp not to mention twice as much toque! Like 35lbs to 18lbs no way it wins without the raptor being clapped out or something!
High-flow pipes ain't getting you much without a good intake or pod filters I got a Raptor with the big 3 dual exhaust power commander fuel custom intake and 727 Stroker high-compression piston with a tune and my Banshee with v Force 4 reeds T5 pipes and pwk carburetors definitely has way more of a wow factor than the Raptor rappers about 58 to 60 horsepower the Banshees got to be all of that plus 50 lb lighter

raptor might be more powerful but its a slouch in stock form. the banshee was designed with racing in mind from the get go. very few quads can beat it till this day. it kills me that they stopped building it

True, both very good observations. But I will say the Banshee was spinning more than the Raptor. It's strange because the Raptor has bald tires and the Banshee has 90 % tread. But while racing, I felt as if the Banshee was spinning a lot and then it was revealed just exactly how much it was spinning once we started racing on pavement.

I find it hard to believe that the banshee is stock I've been on both and they aren't that much faster than a Raptor. Both stock are pretty evenly matched and I have the white and red SE Raptor 700 and they're fast AF and I've been on the banshee too and they are not that much faster than the Raptor 700 this guy is clearly used to racing amateurs you can really see the other guys on the Raptors can't even shift it right to make I speed up hell 3rd gear on mine hits over 60mph easily and it's all stock. These guys don't even get the Raptors over 40mph it just looks too rigged, too set up to make the Banshee look meaner than it really is. Although they are pretty badass and fast and possibly the fastest ATV out there but they aren't as fast as this guy makes it seem. Owned both and ridden both and both can be back breaker's but the Banshee is far from stock. Adding a pipe to a two stroke adds another 5-6 HP easily so that make a difference between the two plus this banshee sounds like it's been bored out and overhauled with a larger piston and rings so that's most likely what we're seeing here plus the other rider's just plain suck.

Well, pipe is everything on a 2 stroke, then add port and carb....
Keep in mind, the raptor has a 5th gear limiter, you can really see the banshee pull when the raptor gets there.
I think a totally stock banshee would get beat to 300ft but eventually beat the raptor on the top end (due to the 5th gear limiter).
I think the 3 mod would beat it if you removed the limiter.
I have a 3 mod with the limiter removed and I have beat a ton of shees at the dunes. I also beat most stock and modded raptors just because I keep pulling in 5th.
Only 350 ever built that'll whip a 700 with no more than a set of pipes man and even without pipes a Banshee will keep up to a 700

I have a slightly modded Yamaha raptor a plus 3mm intake valve and plus 2mm exhaust valves stage 3 cam plus 5mm stroker crank 105.5mm piston and EFI controller freed up the exhaust system and air intake plus few other things. At 75mph in 4th gear I can pull it up then shift in 5th and it's stupid fast

But I ride Yamaha, my daughter rides a modded Yamaha blaster, I did a port n polish and increased the compression to the limits for pump gas also put a 34mm carb and throttle body air intake plus few other things. It tops out at over 70mph she absolutely loves riding, I also machined it to accept a YZ 250cc 2-stroke power reed cage, so the little blaster moves better than most.... 😉 my daughter will be 19 this may. Fourtown grygla sportsman club is located by where we ride, I also have went to the iron range and ride with my army buddy's . But as with life getting hard to find time it seems, as years go by.

The Banshee is a little bit cheaper as the Raptor is about $10,000 where you can buy a good mint condition Banshee for about $7 or 8,000. However, it is easier to purchase a Raptor as you can finance it whereas with the Banshee you'll need $7-8K on hand.

Pipes are a huge help for the banshee so it is not stock. If you put pipes on the raptor then it's a different race. Plus the guy in the raptor looks to have at least 50lbs on the banshee rider.
I agree that the Banshee had a weight advantage however I emphasize that it was just piped as that is a relatively easy mod for anyone to do and I wanted to emphasize on that as this was the only mod and no motor work had been done.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL thanks for the reply. Just piped is a fairly big upgrade to a stock machine. A stock raptor is completely strangled. A pipe on a raptor creates different machine altogether. Also add an intake kit with the airbox lid off and the raptor is unrecognizable from stock. I own both machines and the banshee stock loses to a stock raptor with equal riders and weight. That's been proven time and again. After upgrading the machines it can never be an apple to apples comparison. Soil and tires can make all the difference too. Stock vs stock on generally any surface and the raptor wins.
And they ride off into the sunset.

Thanks for reaching out and considering my opinion! 👍 I use 93 octane with all my machines but 87 is also sufficient. 93 burns slower so it helps with eliminating predetination and burns cleaner. As far as oil, I use oil that is labeled "motorcycle oil" only due to wet sumps which is where the engine in a transmission shares the same oil. If you don't use designated motorcycle oil it will contain detergents that will cause your clutch to slip. 10W-40 is the weight that I use. I hope this helps.
I have an 07 Polaris outlaw. I’ve yet to ride any wheeler or see any wheeler that can beat it. It’s stock but really hauls in all 5 gears. You should see if you can race one of those. Ive always heard the outlaw is the fastest production quad ever made besides the banshee. Would be an amazing race!

No doubt, that would be an amazing race! I Have no experience on an Outlaw but I have been on a Polaris Predator and those are quick! I don't know when I'll be up against an Outlaw, if ever, but I may be bringing a Polaris Predator to the channel soon! And you already know, if we bring a Predator to the channel, we will be racing it! 💪😁🤘
your quad would win the only reason the banshee won in this vid aswell is bc the rider difference that raptor should of pulled away from him in the higher gears too because it has more hp and more torque and the polaris makes the same amount of hp that the raptor makes

Love the video I’m gonna say rider skill comes into play here rappies make great torque but not when it’s bouncing off the rev limiter. Or Mayb that shee is just super mint and runs really well either way I’m in for the next vid.
I will say he's a very capable rider and our skill set I would say is very close to the same, however, on the first drag he was throttle happy for whatever reason and definitely lost some momentum forward by bouncing off the rev limiter for that amount of time. Which ultimately gave me the cutting edge advantage shortly after whole shot.
