Banshees are something special, a lot of people don't realize that a Banshee won the Paris - Dakar rally in its class back in 1998. The rider, Vikus van Deventer, a farmer with an adrenaline mission finished more than a day ahead of the closest competitor!, yes you read that correctly, and the competitors had much bigger machinery! Respect.
The smell of premix in the dunes, the smell of that wet sand coming off the roost of Skat-Trak tires mounted on some sweet Douglas rims, and the unmistakable sound of the Banshee. What a video. This took me back 25 years to when I was taking my Banshee to every sand dune I could get to. Love, absolutely love your content!
Me too. Rode my 86 banshee through the mid 90's into the early 2000's. What a ride, did all my own wrenching, it screamed! #1 Imperial Sand Dunes. 100 low lead aviation fuel.
Idk if you’ve ever heard one with a 2 into one Dynaport pipe on it? But it literally sounds like an F1 car and then mixed with some race fuel and some Klotz two stroke oil!!! Omg idk if it gets any better!!! JMO
My son is 2 and I’ve had an xr50 waiting for him since before he was born. I’m so excited introduce him into all forms of motorized recklessness like my dad did for me. I’m sure your kids appreciate the hell out of it.
I got my Banshee at 14 . We had it ported and polished , bored out and crank upgraded for more displacement, boost bottle, Fmf fatty pipes , and a 6 in extend swing arm. Mom wasn’t exactly happy when she asked Pop Is his quad as fast as yours now? He goes No…….his is actually a little faster . I can still hear mom yelling while walking back to the house I swear to God If he gets hurt! ….Rawr rawr rawr lol
I never understood the logic of declaring an inanimate machine as “dangerous”. Certain people are just hell bent on banning dangerous objects instead of banning the idiots operating them.
This is both true 99.9% of the time and utterly incorrect. If it's fast and you crash it because it's unforgiving and you're not Travis Pastrana that is totally on you and always will be. If a bike is released where big bumps make the frame snap in half, that is dangerous in a fundamental way. Ridiculous example sure, just pointing out it's rarely black and white in either direction.
@@Tennessee6447 That’s a great comparison actually! I’ve been around guns my whole life and I’ve yet to be hurt by one. That’s only because I have respect for what they’re capable of and avoid morons that do not.
@@jameshealy4594 By definition, most (if not all) machines are “dangerous”. Chainsaws are in fact capable of inflicting harm, but I would NOT call a properly operated, well maintained chainsaw “dangerous” per say. Now if a company produces a saw where the chain is prone to flying off due to a design flaw, then I would call that particular type of chainsaw dangerous. The Banshee was a very capable machine, but not inherently flawed so long as the operator was equally capable. I guess all I’m saying is know your limits.
When I was a kid my dad had a Banshee. He built it, got heads, reeds, pipes, and it had to run a special high octane race gas. He sawed off the front fenders so all that was left were nubs. By the time he was done building it, I was 12, and the only time he ever let me ride it, I wasn't allowed to go above 2nd gear, because that bike was stupid fast. When I was smaller, he'd ride with me sitting on the gas tank and he'd drag race people with super built raptors and stuff and win, with me riding along. That bike was crazy. I had a slightly built blaster and there was no comparison. I'd buy a banshee over any other quad as an adult if I had the money.
I'd never buy a banshee lol. My old man built an 89 and rode it til he sold it and got his 96 and built that then sold that when the 450s hit. Never looked back cause the banshee can't corner for shit and just feels like a fuckin boat
I had a modified banshee in the 90's. It was an animal. I'd wait at intersections for cars to pass on the highway and I'd pull out behind and pass them in less than 1/8 mile.
2 things I'll always remember from the Banshee days, #1 was the sound of the lead Banshees flying by "pinned" on a dirt road in the Parker 400 back in the 80's...... #2 was a little 70 lb girl kicking EVERYBODY'S ass up comp hill on one at Glamis. Another great video Sir !
My friend got me into riding back in the late 80s. Learned to ride on my friends 1978 rm125. Not having a bike for 10+ years fast forward to June 2000. While shopping for groceries there was a Yamaha dealer on my way home. I stopped "just to take a look" I could not decide on either a banshee or YZ250, almost bought both. Pulled the trigger on banshee but still always wanted a YZ. Now in 2021 I found a 2000 Yz250 (yes 2 stroke) at a decent price and bought it. They both share garage space now.
2 stroke 3 wheelers and the Banshee 4 wheeler are the only non motorcycle machines I would ever consider buying. In the early 2000's when I had a Yamaha dealership we'd get one of each color which meant two and we'd pull them in and out of the shop everyday for display and at the end of the week when the oil started to drip out of the exhaust we'd fight over who would get to take them outback and clean them out. Double the fun factor in the winter when we'd race them around the building in the snow covered parking lot. Had a helluva time selling 2 every year but at least we had fun with them while we had them.
Very easily one on the most used and modded Yamaha engines in history. I had a 74' RD when I was about 12-17 and at 1/2 a century I ride a 100hp Banshee and grin and laugh just the sameas I did as a kid. Only fond memories and mile wide smiles !!!
My buddy had an RZ and he was doing over 100 and had a case of diarrea hit him at speed. He had to call his dad to bring him another pair of pants. LOL
Awesome video!!!!! In 1997 I bought a brand new Warrior which I sold years ago. There was a brand new 1997 Banshee right next to it. I always wondered if I should have bought the Banshee, this video makes the answer obvious.
I bought my 14 year old son a warrior, that should answer your question, I think my blaster was as fast as the warriors, and I had a banshee but I had two many quads, I got a brute force 750 to replace them, I will die with my Kawasaki, still love it to this day 2005
I think I just watch my favorite TH-cam video of all times! Growing up, riding a 80hp banshee, this literally gave me goosebumps. It makes me realize how useless my 90 hp raptor 700 is! just not the same feeling.
Took my 8 weeks and finally found a Banshees I had to buy. So thank you for getting me to finally buy another Banshee after 20 years and raising 2 girls I needed this video to give me a kick and remind me of my childhood love.
Great video..... Years ago, here in Tucson, there was a guy who rode a fancy banshee around town (you can make anything street legal in AZ, God bless them). He had oversized, back lit spinner wheels on it, all the bells and whistles. Really cool to see him around town. I haven't seen him in the better part of 15 years, but if he reads this, he needs to know he was appreciated.
Bro, that outro was so fire. It legit gave me chills when he was relating it to life and saying how we love it bc it's dangerous, and it's what keeps us going
The Queen Shee, her name," Priscilla " 88hp, Bought her new in 98, same day neck injury that still a knife twisting today, but, she's still in the fam.
I’m 15 currently and I bought an 89 banshee re jetted it got new plastics and have been enjoying the hell out of it. The feeling of that power suddenly hitting lifting the front tires with every gear is incredible. That demonic scream of the 350 2-stroke makes me smile no matter how many times i have gone flat out. It is truly a beautiful machine.
Wish I never sold my '01... It had MAYBE 40 hours on it... bought brand new, did about 4g worth of stuff to it, and lost my job AND had a kid at the same time... had no choice Sold it for 3400 cash! I still hate having to do that 21 years later
I've rode a ton of quads, had a KFX700, rode DS650's, Raptors, 250Rs, Predators, etc. Only one allowed me to powerslide easily through the first 4 gears without sweat, only one screamed that specific way, only one simply felt that certain way. The Banshee. My mom and dad used to both drag race them when I was little, and when I was able to ride a couple of Banshees, that's a feeling that sticks with you. The Quadzilla is somewhat close, and the Polaris 400 Sport tried, but the Banshee is well, the Banshee.
2 stroke smoke forever. Iv rode and raced just about everything from snowmobiles to cars. Dirt bikes one of my favorite passions but a ride on a Banchee never disappoints. Might not handle like a honda 250 R but the power of the 350 twin is unrivaled by any ATV iv been on. Wish i bought one when they were cheap now finding a nice one is going to cost ya some coin but probably worth every penny lol!!
@10:50 i love it how the competivenes between Honda and Yamaha gave birth to one of the wildest squads. I love it also how Yamaha D-tuned their engine almost like a supra, de-tuning to go under the red tape
Started my motorcycle career in 1990 at a multi line metric dealership and I uncrated and assembled and did the pre delivery service on hundreds of banshees and blasters. They sold the shit out of them probably more than any other model dirt or street. On most machines performance parts give you little gains here and there but the Banshee was instant gratification. The Blaster would get some good gains from the same mods but nothing like the Banshee. If we wanted big gains on the blaster we would take the crank out and swap the blaster connecting rod out with one off the Banshee turning it into a stroker motor.
My first time on a banshee, made me fall in love with 2 stroke engines forever..I remember my eyes opening wide and the engine screaming for more every time I opened the throttle wide😂😅. AWESOME video!!!!
Respect the Banshee, especially one with Toomey T5 pipes, tuned carbs with air pod filters like my profile pic. It is a machine that DEMANDS experienced riders' attention at all time. The stock suspension isn't the best, it doesn't like to ride slow because there's no rad fan and it's always ready to rip, but if a noob is not aware of the powerband, it will definitely rip you to pieces.
My buddy had one with this set up. It was the only thing around that could run with my built ATC 250R. Every single flat field in the area had our drag racing shred marks permanently etched into them. Boy I miss the 90s,early 2000s.
I bought a 99 banshee blue in color brand new. I ran 50:1 mix from day one instead of 32:1 factory spec and it made a huge difference in performance. I put some $1200 shocks on it for motocross racing and some bolt on engine upgrades like FMF fatty pipes, v force reeds, boost bottle, bigger jets etc.. I raced amateur at a local motocross track. I was not a pro racer by any means but i could leave the starting line in 2nd gear and take 1st place into turn 1 every time and hold that position for 3 laps before fatigue and lack of experience would set in and the pro riders ( 2 or 3 of them) would pass me on the jumps. It was a great machine that i never had any trouble with. I stopped riding often and sold it for WAY to cheap 3 years before the prices went insane. I do miss it but Im 53 and my need for speed has faded. I also had a 92 VMAX motorcycle that was also fast as hell. Had that thing up to 160 MPH at over 10000 rpm maxed out with stock engine. I beefed up (triangulated) the frame and put in solid motor mounts so it was stable at speed. Also replaced the rubber washer in steering head with metal one to remove the death wobble at 45 and 80 mph. Big improvements! Yamaha is/was my favorite brand to say the least. Artic cat F7 for snowmobiling though. hahaha
Now that I'm 53, I finally bought one. Starting with all new suspension this month. Heck I even got my 83 year old mom to ride it!! We had the ATC90 in the 70's.
I had the pleasure to ride a Banshee and a race ready Suzuki 500 out at Glamis back in the late 80's. I thought the world of that Suzuki 500. I rode it for a couple days with the Paddle tires and just crushed everything I saw. I got on a friends Banshee and was very surprised and immediately wowed by it's speed and acceleration. I found the Suzuki 500 Quadzilla in it's race ready form a bit more stable for my liking out there as the Banshee was brand new and had no mods outside of the paddle tires. That Banshee flew. Both were massive fun out in the dunes of Glamis. Nice revisiting those watching this.
This video is awesome. My dad bought me a banshee when I was 13 years old and I still have it to this day and there’s nothing like getting off of work on a crappy day and letting it rip around the neighborhood.
that first time you hit the power band as a kid is insane haha. I was a few years younger than you when I road my brothers. Scared the shit out of me, but I couldn't get enough after. So much fun.
I bought a Banshee 10 years ago and it never has gotten old to me. I still have fun like the first day I rode it. It still starts on the first kick after all these years and has never broken down on me. Two cylinder 2 stroke, 10,000 RPM, and six gears. What’s not to love?? I only paid 3K back then and they selling for 6K now in the condition it’s in. They could sell for a 100K and I know without a doubt I still wouldn’t part with it. It’s the greatest quad in history.
Anyone who owned or rode a Banshee. We understand why it’s labeled as dangerous it is… but so much fun and adrenaline filled. There’s been nothing like it since. I wish I still had mine
This brings back wild memories of riding my friends built Banshee. The crazy power and feeling of barely keeping it at bey as it pulled the front wheel off the ground at 60 mph on the streets was wild!
Great video! I am a die hard dirt obsexxion guy because of the fantastic dialog. They have not been putting much content out and you my friend will help fill that void. Thanks..
Sleds now days are over 1000cc 3 turbo charged and pushing 200or slightly over 200hp stock. New 4x4 quads are getting the same way 1000cc twin cylinder motors making like 90hp now
We had one for my parents land. We all took turns riding it & it caused me & my 2 brothers to buy sport quads (2 blasters & a warrior). That bright blue moto-4 started it all.
@@sci-fyguy7767 I bought mine from a friend who got it new, it sat in his barn the last 15-20 years he had it. Then he got cancer and he tried giving it to me but I insisted I buy it from him. I got it running and all cleaned up and drove it to his place shortly before he died, it made him smile like I hadn’t seen him smile in a long time. It’s as much about the memories as the machines 👍
In 1996 i decided to get a warrior. I was 14. And opted for an electric start and reverse. That being said i learned how to work on stuff starting with the 'double trouble' banshee. Plus i didnt wanna mix gas when i look around house or go cut grass or rake leaves and have enough gas for days of riding. Plus the 250rs and kawa and lt250r would smoke a banshee after a rebuild so i guess i wish i had a banshee now but i dont regret the warrior when i had a choice
Its crazy that for a couple of Summers/Winters, I would use the Banshee when I was a Kid. At no point before did I know what kind of machine it was capable of being. I remember riding it and it would take off once the rpms were high enough. Its been about 10-15 years now and now I want it back hahaha good ole banshee. Its currently in my Parents shed collecting dust. Last i remember it had bad carb and idk what else. I do remember burning my leg with that weird exhaust. Thanks for this video, it has brought me great memories!!!!
My first sport quad was a 98’ 350 Warrior in 2000, when I was about 15. We had a group of about 10 kids that got together and hit all the local spots on Saturdays in our little country town. I remember my buddy Kevin showing up one Saturday with his Dad’s brand new Banshee. I had my Warrior and thought, how much faster could it be? They’re both 350s after all lol. After much coaxing and promises that I wouldn’t crash his dad’s new baby, Kevin relented, and I hopped on that Banshee and hit it! It was a LOT faster than my Warrior. My adrenaline went through the roof as the wheels glided over the gravel road. I squeezed the throttle and my legs against the tank and sent it, leaving a trail of gravel dust a mile long. It was an absolute blast. I always loved my Warrior, but from that day forward I always had a soft spot for Banshees. I have a SxS now and meet up with family and friends for rides. A couple years ago my step brother’s friend showed up to a ride with a Banshee. I wondered if it was just my love and nostalgia for them or if they really were as fast as I remember. The dude let me take it for a little spin and it was absolutely just as much fun as I remember! I would love to find one that hasn’t been ran into the ground but it would probably be cost prohibitive at that point.
I’ve raced cars here in the land of Oz but nothing feels like hanging off the side of a Banshee at full throttle!!! That is y mine is still in the shed more then 18 years after I bought it!
Quadrunner 125.... my goodness... thats the one i was riding when i messed up my shoulder. It didnt heal correctly and they had to cut off the end of my collar bone and put 3 titanium screws in.... I never knew the name of it because it had long since lost all the stickers and been painted. it just had the 125 on the seat still. and the orange plastic bodt poping out from under the several layers of cammo paint lmao.. love that classic orange. We kept it up until a couple years ago. My uncle bought it brand new when he played in the NFL for the steelers in the 80s. It just lived in our garage for decades. I think it was 2004 when i messed up my shoulder but it was still running great. We finnally got rid of it because it was super dangerous and unforgiving and was impossible to start. Those old ATVS are brutal. dad bought a 2018 polaris 570 and weve had tons of different older polaris atvs over the years... but nothing compares to an old polaris or kawasaki 250 for just pure fun. ride the trails, play pine tag in the woods, go sand crawling, mount a carseat to the back and take the kids. Weve become kinda soft these days... i didnt get to expirence the 1980s but the 1990s was pretty dang awesome... we need to keep the good stuff from modernity but figure out how to ditch the useless junk that makes us all miserable,
I bought a brand new Banshee in 1995 and rode it for ten years. it only ever over heated once in that time and it was hands down the best machine I've ever owned. I've seen them selling for more than what I took mine off the showroom floor for lol.
Amazing video and presentation. The release that keeps us going. I commute on two wheels as much as I can and it is almost unreal how much it helps relieve stress.
Well done sir , well done . My 2008 banshee is my pride and joy. Where i live there are not many around and people break their necks looking at it , its comical actually
Your explanation of the cons is exactly why i bought the warrior! Slightly slower than the shee but i live in the rockies at high elevation. My warrior always out preformed my skill!
I owned a 2001 for a short while back in the day…. Now I have a 99 that I bought pretty well trashed that I work on in my business off season. I’m in no rush, enjoying the process and in the end I’ll have a like-new fully rebuilt banshee. Chassis is powder coated and re assembled with all new bearings bushings etc, bottom end has been gone through and fully rebuilt. All suspect conditions addressed and topped with a brand new clutch assembly…. Next I get to build out the engine intake and exhaust, that’s the fun stuff….
Owner operator here... 2006 50th Anniversary Special Edition. There is just something about that black and yellow with strobe stripes. Only 7 hours on the clock since new from the dealership! Mint!
Awesome. I have a 2003 limited edition banshee (original owner) and a 2006 LE 50th anniversary raptor 700. Yellow/black definitely looks good on these beasts 💪
This is the first time one of your videos came into my suggested page. I took a look at your other video titles. Subbed. This will be fun watching all of these. Nice work.
Best last 4 minute speech at the end of how the human needs that getaway from the hamster wheel life and get that edge of the razor thrill to be able to carry on with the dull daily life hell we mkst all have to live thru. And the banshee is amazing and so are dirtbikes. Im a 2 stroke die hard...nothing smells, sounds or feels better and is therapy for those of us that crave that to get peace of mind. Amen.
The Banshee was THE bamf 4wheeler to have back in the late-90's and early 2000's at our local offroading spot - a long stretch of sandy creekbed on the edge of the county that spanned 3 bridges between two major highways - I still remember smelling the race gas when dudes would go by on their Banshees and, later, 400EX's. It was still fun and dangerous even if you had something like the Kawasaki Bayou 220's like myself and my friends all had - nearly ended myself a handful of times without the benefit of a Banshee - eventually built a V8-powered Jeep Scrambler to run the creek -- good times!
I have a completely restored 2002 frame off Banshee that is absolutely stunning!!! Has engine work also!! Its in climate controlled storage bubble wrapped!! In 10-20 years its going to be worth a Fortune !!!
The powerband on this guy was nuts. As a 75 lb kid this thing was sketchy. I live in El Centro California less than an hr from lots of the legendary desert riding hotspots. Glamis, Ocotillo, superstition basically my back yard. I never owned a 4 wheeler but have ridden lots different ones in my youth quadzilla 500s, banshee 350s but my favorite for the sand was the honda 250r. I am mainly a two wheeled guy now but in high school my parents would never have gotten me a dirt bike but lots of friends had them and lots of weekends spent in the sand. I have enjoyed the videos you have done on your channel so far. A blast from the past. This video is funny because 3 months ago my mother in law wanted to give me her old Banshee but I turned it down because I am limited on a place to store it. Also three dirt bikes fit into the truck bed and with the 4 wheeler I would have to trailer it or take two trips. To get the family out to the desert. Right now my 8 year old is on a vintage trizinger that leaves enough room for my wife’s 250 and my 450 with just enough room to fit the gear in the bed. It will no be long before the kid is ready for something bigger but i know the Banshee was not a natural progression. Great job on the channel
Why would you turn down a free Banshee?!?!? Nobody in their right mind would do such a thing!!!! I understand your storage situation but still!!! It’s a BANSHEE!! And damn what a nice mother in law
@@jamesskinner8590 its a two wheel thing vs a 4 wheel thing i guess. The Banshee is not very uncommon in the area I guess I am not in my right mind. The 4 wheelers are getting faded out into utvs are all over now. I guess I should have just stored it and pulled it out every couple years but I just need the space more than I need to pay another off-road registration that isn’t being used at all
I grew during the evolution of the 3-wheeler to 4 wheeler era. I remember when my buddy went from a Honda "Big Red" 3 wheeler to a Yamaha Banshee. That thing was scary AF. We were in our early teens when he got it (I'll be 50 this year). It was so much faster than anything we had ever ridden. His parents owned land around the local river which had some awesome sand dunes. It was like riding was put on fast forward when you threw a leg over that thing.
I went from field racing a banshee and farming with a honda rancher, to one machine, a Kawasaki brute force, its big but fun, second summer i owned it i took the racks and plastic off, for a jet kit, hmf exhaust and elka shocks, it's way funner and faster than my banshee was, but I still miss my Yamaha
made me really miss our old honda 250 big red, i was rocking that trying to keep up with a few friends who had banshees. if that thing isnt literal dust its probably still running lol
I was lucky enough to grow up with 4 uncles that all built and raced wheelers or as some people call them Wheelbillies. I started riding their race quads around the yard when i was 6 and had my own 250x by about 11. They always rode Hondas but i love everything. Riding a Banshee is like riding one of their purpose built flat track quads, they're super fast, handle like crazy if you know what you're doing and i don't think there had ever been a cooler looking quad made than a Banshee, they're sweet.
I have many fond memories and hundreds of hours on the Banshee. As mentioned in the video, it ran like a dog in the tight woods trails at low RPM, but if you have the wide open, it would scream.
Yes LETS GO! Been going crazy lately wanting a new goon vid! I was hoping for a James Stewart vid since I been watching SMX lately. But this is AWESOME
In 1994, it was the only time I rode a Banshee on the beach, just once in my life, and I still remember the power, the sound, the wind. I remember it so clearly as if this being had transported me to another dimension.

That Sunday morning cartoon feeling, but for adults.

YES!!!
Amazing video. 2 banshees in the garage been loving them for 30 years
I had a modified banshee in the 90's. It was an animal. I'd wait at intersections for cars to pass on the highway and I'd pull out behind and pass them in less than 1/8 mile.
awesome exoerience
2 things I'll always remember from the Banshee days, #1 was the sound of the lead Banshees flying by "pinned" on a dirt road in the Parker 400 back in the 80's...... #2 was a little 70 lb girl kicking EVERYBODY'S ass up comp hill on one at Glamis.
Another great video Sir !
the opening minute gave me chills, thinking back to hearing the 2 stroke screaming when i was younger
I can still smell it.
I even remembered and had the magazines he showed
YEP Banshee, 250R, ATC250r. Well..all 3 wheelers.
Another masterful video 👏
Many RD/RZ 350LC motorcycle owners are so grateful for the Banshee for engine spares availability.
I bought my 14 year old son a warrior, that should answer your question, I think my blaster was as fast as the warriors, and I had a banshee but I had two many quads, I got a brute force 750 to replace them, I will die with my Kawasaki, still love it to this day 2005
I've had three of them. Best ATV ever.
Had a banshee many years ago so I clicked. Well done sir. You nailed the feeling.
Lovely video. The Banshee is the Most iconic atv ever.
I think I just watch my favorite TH-cam video of all times! Growing up, riding a 80hp banshee, this literally gave me goosebumps. It makes me realize how useless my 90 hp raptor 700 is! just not the same feeling.
A banshee wasn't 80 hp
Took my 8 weeks and finally found a Banshees I had to buy. So thank you for getting me to finally buy another Banshee after 20 years and raising 2 girls I needed this video to give me a kick and remind me of my childhood love.

I grew up riding banshees. Had up to 3 at once time. This video brings back memories👏🏾👌🏾
It legit gave me chills when he was relating it to life and saying how we love it bc it's dangerous, and it's what keeps us going
same here! hit the feels pretty hard ngl 🥲
Well done! Absolutely brilliant tribute to an incredible machine. Love seeing that face every time I open the garage and shee has yet to let me down.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Couldn’t of said it/ done this better myself. Well said! I was fortunate enough to grow up with a banshee limited edition. Great times
The Queen Shee, her name," Priscilla " 88hp, Bought her new in 98, same day neck injury that still a knife twisting today, but, she's still in the fam.
When that thing hit the pipe everyone got a neck injury 😆
I’m 15 currently and I bought an 89 banshee re jetted it got new plastics and have been enjoying the hell out of it. The feeling of that power suddenly hitting lifting the front tires with every gear is incredible. That demonic scream of the 350 2-stroke makes me smile no matter how many times i have gone flat out. It is truly a beautiful machine.
Ive had a lot of quads and bikes over the years. The Banshee is the only one ill never sell.
sweet
I have a 2003 limited edition and am the original owner. I also won’t ever sell.
Wish I never sold my '01... It had MAYBE 40 hours on it... bought brand new, did about 4g worth of stuff to it, and lost my job AND had a kid at the same time... had no choice
Sold it for 3400 cash! I still hate having to do that 21 years later
@billymanilli
Life happens man, things can be replaced they just cost more later lol. I paid full covid prices for mine.
That's how I feel about my 89' TRX 250R and 85' ATC 250R, never will we be separated.
Wanted a Banshee when I was 10 years old, almost 20 years later I still want one.
I had chills 20 seconds in and I had chills all through the 20 minutes. WOW.. Awesome video!
Loved these bikes and I will forever bare my scars from them lol
CPIs and yfz shocks make a banshee a dream to ride
When tuned properly the banshee runs like a dream
I want to see a vid of mom on the quad that is priceless
very cool. pipes chip and carb work is enough to be fun and reliable. steering stabilizer for us old farts. that's all I need
@@BornAGoon can you recommend a Banshee forum? I'm going to order Lonestar parts, Elka suspension..but I need advice on new rims. Motor is last mod.
Bro. You are so right! I love all sport quads! Long live sport quads!
Let's just hope Yamaha keeps at it. They are thr last manufacturer who still makes a proper sport quad.
Quad Racer 500 has entered the chat and the Banshee shit itself. One was actually banned, the other is ridden by everyone and their mother.
My cousin had one . Those were pretty sick too. It was either one of those or a built up 250r that would give me a run for my money.
When/why was the Quadzilla banned?
I'll take shit that never happened for 400 Alex
Bro I love the energy. You could hype anything.
nothing like it before and nothing like it after....I loved my Banshee
18:38 to the end is absolute gold!

Bro.....20 minutes, and you couldn't put in a few seconds of audio of the Banshee screaming in real time......😢
We flat trackers loved the quads dusting off the track first before the bikes got on the track!
What a great video to see just posted after coming home from the desert
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved my Banshee. Had pipes and a little motor work done. It was a perfect quad for the dunes.
i got my 1988 LT250R when i was 13 with a twist throttle, and well i did wheelies right away lol. 20 plus years later i still got that beast.
Hole in ozone vs smelling & hearing a 2-stroke...fair trade

Need to bring back the banshee
Anyone who owned or rode a Banshee. We understand why it’s labeled as dangerous it is… but so much fun and adrenaline filled. There’s been nothing like it since. I wish I still had mine
This brings back wild memories of riding my friends built Banshee. The crazy power and feeling of barely keeping it at bey as it pulled the front wheel off the ground at 60 mph on the streets was wild!
Hands-down, the best quad ever built. keep it up Goon
Thanks, will do!

A 50hp Quad is too Fast, but you can buy a Snowmobile with 180hp from the factory that will do 120mph Stock... On Snow?! 😂😮WTF
I’m not saying you’re wrong. Not at all. But sleds are much heavier, so I wonder how the power to weight ratio would compare?
@@nschaad1982 quads can't go 120 mph
As a rider of both: sleds are much more dangerous in my opinion.
Sleds now days are over 1000cc 3 turbo charged and pushing 200or slightly over 200hp stock. New 4x4 quads are getting the same way 1000cc twin cylinder motors making like 90hp now
Quads are inherently dangerous. That’s why
I’ve got a 1987 moto 4 225, still runs like a top! Both my kids learned how to ride on that thing 👍

You're a great narrator, and the camera work and scripting is world class.
I'm 41 and go out few times a year and I ride an 85 Honda 250 sx atc and it's very uncomfortable but it does the job. Respect your ride

Weve become kinda soft these days... i didnt get to expirence the 1980s but the 1990s was pretty dang awesome... we need to keep the good stuff from modernity but figure out how to ditch the useless junk that makes us all miserable,
thanks for sharing your story The good ole days
I bought a brand new Banshee in 1995 and rode it for ten years. it only ever over heated once in that time and it was hands down the best machine I've ever owned. I've seen them selling for more than what I took mine off the showroom floor for lol.

Amen.
Thank you
The Banshee was THE bamf 4wheeler to have back in the late-90's and early 2000's at our local offroading spot - a long stretch of sandy creekbed on the edge of the county that spanned 3 bridges between two major highways - I still remember smelling the race gas when dudes would go by on their Banshees and, later, 400EX's.
Already is a small fortune!
What an intro! I miss ATVs from back then. Excellent video

I remember it so clearly as if this being had transported me to another dimension.
i had one, ported 370 long rod, with 35mm mikuni flat slides. It did wheelies in 5th gear downhill.
It was a beast! loved it. kind of wish i kept it.
